Should I order from Barnes & Noble or Amazon?

Amazon offers free shipping for over 25$ as well, but of the two items I ordered on Dec 10, one of them shipped today, and the other they say 'Due to a problem with our publsher, it may not arrive for Christmas.' The only reason I ordered both items from them was to get free shipping on the problem item, otherwise I'd buy the one that's actually shipping from a B&M where it's cheaper. They push Super Saver Shipping, and basically ignore you if you chooseit.
I ordered three items last week on the 14th from BN, and they shipped Friday.
I'd go with BN, I don't know why Amazon is always on the top of everyone's mind.
Try that BNNINST code as well, I think it's 5 off 50, it may still work.

I didn't pay tax at BN.com. There's a BN B&M five miles from my office. They must be separate operating companies, like EBgames.com and EBGames used to be.

"In accordance with applicable law, Barnes & Noble.com currently collects sales tax in the following states: FL, MA, NJ, NV, NY, PA, SC, TN, and WI. Sales tax is applied to the total amount of the order, including shipping and handling charges and gift-wrap fees (where applicable) and is based on the shipment's destination state and local sales tax rates."
Their prices are exactly the same. Anyone have any codes or free shipping advice to help me decide?
Supersaving shipping on orders over $25 @ Amazon.
I've also had big problems with BN (it took me 1 month to get a this past semester textbook)

Well, I'm ordering from NYC but I live in NJ and the books are being sent to VA for a Christmas gift so it looks like I'm going to have to pay tax. Also, the total for the books is $21.17 so I'm not eligible for free shipping I guess either unless I order something else. I'll only order something for $4 though because I really don't want anything but either way I'm paying $4 for shipping or a little something extra so I might as well get something. The prblem there though is that the boks are being sent as a gift but the something extra will be coming to me and I don't think you can do that. F it - I'll just put everything in the basket and whatever is cheaper I'll order...

If you still can't decide, you might want to look at Booksamillion.com. I ordered a few books from them recently and they were fairly quick. Otherwise I would go with amazon.

It's no contest: Amazon. Top service, rocket-speed shipping, consistently the lowest price on whole. And, no, I don't work for them.

I had a slight problem the one time I ordered from bn.com (just before last Xmas)

They were doing free shipping and guaranteed to arrive by Xmas, so I did that. Stuff got to me before Xmas, but they charged me for the shipping. And when I called up to ask that the S&H be credited back to my card the phone rep was a bit rude saying something like 'Well if you wanted it before Xmas you would have had to pay extra shipping, right?' (Leaving out/forgetting a few bits) But they did credit my card after I explained they were running this as a promotion when I ordered with graphics pushing the free shipping w/ delivery by Xmas etc all over the site.

Plus one of the books I ordered (a cookbook) was banged up. Didn't bother about getting a replacement, so I'm not sure how good they would be with that.

Despite the problem, I would order from them again if they had the best price. If it was a toss-up I would go with amazon.

OK, I'm going with Amazon... Anyone know of any coupons or something crappy a baby/toddler would like for $4? I need $4 to qualify for free shipping so I might as well get something, right?

If you order today, Barnes & Noble guarantees your order to arrive before Christmas. Good luck getting your stuff in time for the holidays with Amazon, if that matters to you.

Instead of buying from amazon, buy from buy.com. Buy.com has guaranteed 10% off of amazon book prices. Go check it out yourself.
