should i sell my PSP?

aaa

CAGiversary!
its a nice handheld, but with next gen rolling around, and the fact that most of the games are ports, the PSP just doesnt seem like a thing i really need. only game so far that i really loved was lumines. all other games were just good, nothing special. the only PSP games that i would have an interest in are, grand theft auto (will have san andreas next week), gran turismo 4 (port), jak and daxter (port of a series), death jr, burnout legends (port of a series), and midnight club 3 (just got the xbox version). 6 games, and 5 of them are ports of games or the series. i rarely play the thing, and if i did sell it, then i can afford a ps3 or revolution. im getting xbox 360 for sure.

if i did sell it, i would only sell it at gamerush, eb, or gamestop. dont like selling things online, and even if i could get an extra $50, its not worth it to me. gamerush gives $150, and i dont know what gamestop gives, but they are running a promo "trade a system, get an extra 20% if it is all put towards a preorder. id put all the money on xbox 360. i also have TM:HO and lumines, which each get $22 in credit. id assume that with those 2 games and the system, i would have around $200.

games i have on preorder at gamerush:

midnight club 3 ($50 value)
jak and daxter ($40 value)
GTA:pSP ($50 value)
Death Jr ($40 value)
X-men Legends 2 ($40 value)
Coded Arms ($40 value)
Gran Turismo 4 ($40 value)

that would equal $300 (with CA tax, $323.xx) then, add the $200 for the PSP and the 2 games, and i have around $525. that is a revolution and a bunch of games, or a ps3 and 1-2 games. a console with some games is much more appealing to me then a PSP with 9 games. id also rather have 8-9 360 games then a psp with 9 games. the only time i would really want a PSP is when i go on a long trip, which happens a few times a year, and i could use my ipod if i need to. im leaning towards selling it. any input?

If it makes you sleep better at night, sure, go for it. If you're not going to play your PSP and know that there's nothing on it that would be worth your while to keep it, then you might as well sell it. I know collectors (term used loosely) would want to keep the PSP, but it seems like you've already made up your mind. Of course, a PSP pricedrop is inevitable in the near future, so maybe then you can get it slightly cheaper if you ever want to buy another one (back).

Do we need a 'Should I sell my PSP' thread 3 times a week? Sell it or don't, Im sure not a whole lot of people here care.

Ya to everyone with a PSP or thinking about getting one, it's costly and if you have to think about it don't get it or sell it. For me and my DS it was a no brainer. New Pokemon game for it, Fire emblem, Advance Wars, Mario games like Kart and new Super Mario Bros among others, Zelda four swords, Final Fantasy CC, need I go on.

Plus you can probably still get close to retail minimum for it right now, probably not in the future.

well i got the psp and 4 games for $225 with CA tax thanks to gamerush and FYE. there is no way in hell i would spend $450 for that. im going to stop by gamestop today and see what i can get. sucks though. gamerush was giving $170 for it 5 days ago.

just sold my PSP to gamestop. since i put all the money towards xbox 360, i got an extra 20% so i got $204. also sold my 32mb PRODUO memory card and got 8.40. i was expecting around $160 for the system, so i am happy. again, dont like to sell stuff on ebay, its just a pain in the ass for me

DAMNIT MAN! I would have given you $250 for the system and Lumines! I wish I would have seen this thread sooner....

**grumble** **grumble**
eBay it for sure...I'm guessing its going to go for over $300, probably alot more than Gamerush would ever give you.
Have you even looked at ebay? Or just guessing out of your ass?

A used PSP generally goes for $210-$220, and thats for a mint condition with no dead pixels (good luck on that).
I was assuming he was selling the 4 game also. But, appantly he didn't.
i wouldnt sell it online, period. ive already gotten $60 for THUG 2 and RR at gamerush, and i will get $44 for lumines and twisted metal. i got $308 for the system and 4 games, and i wouldnt expect anything more than $320 off of ebay, so id much rather lose $12 and not have to deal with selling it online and shipping it. not bad considering i got all of this for $225

Well, at least you are happy with the end result.

But I'd still like to point out that my offer for the PSP and Lumines would have netted you an extra $2. :p J/K

I'm just bitter cause I still don't have a PSP. :D

..Yes, but your getting store credit at Game Rush, not cash like on Ebay.

There are free local classifieds online, if shipping is not an option. Just Google "free local classifieds".
