Sign up for Comcast - get free DS
In the FAQ's it specifically says that you have to be going from 0 to 3 services to qualify for the DS. Existing customers always get screwed.
i didnt mean to get the ds. i meant if the poster is paying more than 100$ a month he can still get the triple play for 99 even though he is an existing customer.

All I got for signing up was a crappy webcam. :( Comcast sucks compared to Time Warner Cable, in my opinion. They way Indianapolis is set up though, the cable companies have a monopoly, as they split the city up between Time Warner and Comcast equally. I'm not allowed to get Time Warner at my current house unless they redraw the cable territories. You'd think that would be illegal.

I was thinking of doing this, as the combined total for the three services in my house is nearly 150 a month, but it says you have to sign up online, which seems to indicate that you can't talk them down or to free installation. I need to check the wiring in my house (currently have Direct TV) to see what all needs done in terms of outlets and wiring, but as a rough estimate there is nearly 150 in installation fees, partly killing the deal (save roughly 200 a year).

Do you need multiple cable boxes to have the tv in every room (with Direct TV, we only have the full lineup in 2 rooms, with 2 boxes. The others are just standard 2 5 7 9 etc. through antenna)?

I currently have Yahoo DSL (I think rated at 5mbps). Anyone try both Yahoo DSL and Comcast and can say if they liked one better than the other? It claims their internet is 6 mbps, or for $10 a month 8, but that's not necessarily the speed you get, as I know with DSL.
This is freaking bull-ish. I just moved into a brand new house and got comcast, and I just bought a damn DS on Sunday. fuck you COMCAST!!!
And that's Comcast's fault?

AWESOME!!! THANKS OP!!!!!!!

Mom was thinking of biting on this triple deal at $109/month... but $99/month + FREE DS?!? TIME TO MANIPULATE HER INTO COMAST'S EVIL GRIP!!! WOO!!!!!

I'm moving, too, so maybe I can flip this into TWO free DS's... hmmm.....

Nintendo DS Offer: Offer ends 8/10/07. Offer is not available to customers who have subscribed to any Comcast service during the past 120 days. Offer only available to new customers who simultaneously order and install, all of the advertised services, described above. To qualify, all orders must be placed via www.comcast.com. Installation of all three services must be completed by 9/07/07. Offer limited to one Nintendo DS per household and only available while supplies last.

LAME!!! So we need to be a NEW CUSTOMER, which means you're going to get raped by installation charges... dammit!!! Now is THAT worth it??? I don't know...

If you move and decide to cancel it, you'll have to pay a cancellation fee, since you're agreeing to a contract for so many years.

Only to get the digital only channels and content, any other TVs hooked up just through the cable line will get basic cable.
Would you dare say, "Comcastic"? :)
After my experience with them, after they bought out Adelphia and switched to Comcast, I've come to the conclusion that Comcastic is Latin for "really shitty" :)

But, alas, I'll probably be switching back to them when we go back to Colorado... I need my broadband, and as much as they suck, Qwest sucks harder... So thanks, OP. Maybe I can get something out of them! We were paying about $115 a month before just for digital cable and internet, so I'm game.

Now, do you have to make the appointment by 8/10, or have the service going by then? Cause I won't be home until the 14th...

It would be sort of nice to have my phone coming from then... then they couldn't accuse Vonage whenever there was a problem

It won't let me edit my last post for whatever reason... bah... anyway

You can get regular cable through any cable outlet in your house (ch 1-...70something? where I come from)... you can't get the extra digital channels without extra boxes, though.

Another benefit to Comcast is that they broadcast most of their HD channels over the air as well. I have an HD TV in the bedroom hooked up to the wall (without the HD Box) and I get almost all of the HD channels offered through the box. I have 2 HD Boxes in the house so I dont know if that helps. But if your TV has the built in Tuner you can get the majority of the channels OTA.
