I love the graphics and the atmosphere of the Silent Hill games but the control scheme was always lacking IMO....

you should also add to your title that $5 after Reward Zone members coupon

....so is this just 4.99 now?
 
For those saying it's a bad deal: The creepiness of the first-person room-exploration sections is DEFINITELY worth the $5 alone.
 
Reading here it seems CAGs dont like Silent Hill or just #4? I think the Silent Hill series is one of the best. Very creepy. I never finished 3 and havent played 4 so Im a bit behind.
 
SH4 felt a bit on the "dabbling too close to evil" side for me.

That, and the fact that the dead won't stay dead after you shoot them in the head got real annoying, way too fast (lower level of the subway).

As for repetition: I kept telling myself, "If I wake up in that stupid room one more time...!"

For $5, it's almost worth trying until you can't tolerate it anymore. Those were some creepy times in the prison level....

Personally I didn't find 3 or 4 as enjoyable as the first two games. At least 3 connected to the storyline from the first game, the story for #4 I thought was just horrible. It was like a mish mash of J-Horror cliches.
 
Ahhh, how I miss the EB trade in deals. Here is a $5 game (my store has it) that would have traded in for $10-13.33 in credit (depending on the game) in the old system . . . with the game being returned for credit.

Did the B&Ms restock this recently? I know I looked for it originally when it dropped to $10 months ago and they didn't have it, but the In-Store Pickup lists it as available for 4 out of 5 local stores. Anyone know?
 
OP you might want to state in your "Thread Name" that this is after the Reward Zone coupon. Kind of misleading and ony RZ members can get in on this.

my silent hill 4 shipped out. any one else got the email? it said back ordered a few weeks ago and now its shipped. Glad I aint one of those people taht cancel their orders.

For those of you asking, no, you don't actually need a membership for this to work, even though you're supposed to. Just find a nice clerk to scan it for you.
 
Oddly enough when I came across mine for $10 at the store. It almost looked like they had just been pulled out of the shipping box. I think this either had a re-print or they had alot of old stock somewhere.
 
So did they increase the price after the clearance last year? It had been $4.99... at least that's what I got it for on the website (with no RZ club or anything).
 
Thanks OP for this one, got not only silent hill 4 for 4.99, also got GENJI the dawn of the samurai for 4.99 as well (9.99 minus coupon) might want to add that one to the title of the thread.......(it looks a little like a cross between dynasy warriors and onimusha stuff. got some decent reviews, but they all say its real short, although for 5$ who is complaining?) also got Ty tasmanian tiger 3 for 9.99 (14.99 minus coupon)......sucker for these games.
So scored 3 games for 20$....and also got 3 more GGC with the 19.99 and up on them, good score......(they dont even bat an eye anymore when you put .01 on them)

I believe it has. One local BB got in over 20 copies this week!
 
Thanks again OP, I picked one up today since I already have SH1 for PS1 and SH3 for PS2, figure I might as well fill in the gaps for $5. There was definitely a restocking of these recently, my BBY had like 5 left after the one I took.

couldn't find Silent Hill 4, but picked up GH Tekken 5 for $15 and went next door to CrapUSA and got Darkwatch and Killer 7 for $9.98 each

Actually, you could be right. I wouldn't be surprised if they advertised it at $9.99 in the weekly ad the week the movie comes out.

Yep - mine shipped too. Thought it was going to be another extended/cancel after five months backorder BB special.
 
I once bought this game on Xbox but I ended up selling it. It just wasen't my type of game at all.
 
SH4 was...okay. SH2 is my favorite game in the series, and SH4 is nowhere as good and deep as SH2. But for less than $10, it's a steal.

Enjoyed it until I had to start fighting. Oh my god; horrible. This series needs a fix like Resident Evil 4's control scheme.
