I was just wondering, what do you guys think of the upcoming Silent Hill 4? From the trailers that have been released, *especially the uber disturbing e3 version, i could see a far more twisted and disturbed Silent Hill, the gimmick being the 'room'...The graphics looked amazing, especically the rag doll physics enemies, the insanely scary enemies, the music was pretty good too(twisted lyrics to that)...
But i mean, seeing the last couple of SIlent Hills, 2 & 3, i have no idea whether this title will improve the series mostly unchanged gameplay..all i saw was machineguns in 3, and graphical touchups, as well as new story, and new takes...Its quite a bit already. Konami never released any information about new gameplay features, and i havent read about anything new being introduced. Which sort of worries me. I still stand by SIlent Hill 1 as being my favorite, because it was a fresh take on the concept at the time, and genuinely twisted, scary and nerve-wracking. It even had midgets that stabbed you in the nuts. Im just a bit afraid that a good series like SH might be losing steam thanks to a lack of care for the gameplay side, while only pushing the shock factor and aesthetics of the game.
