Sirius Satellite Radio Subscription deals?

Hey everyone,

Been a while since I've posted on the boards (mainly due to being busy with work and my final college semester and all that jazz). Anyway, back in April I picked up a 2006 Chrysler 300C and it came with a factory Sirius unit. I contacted Sirius to see if the previous owner had used the free one year promo code and he had.

So my question is this, anyone know of anything to get Sirius for an extended period of time for free (as in 3 months or more) or to get a really reduced rate on subscription costs or a lifetime cost for the unit (instead of the $400 they want for that)?

I actually work in "terrestrial" radio, so that's why I'm interested in an extended trial period. At the same time, I also understand that Sirius is hurting for business, so the chance of deals could be on the slim side. I'd prefer to get the most out of my investment (i.e. the lifetime subscription), but I'm wary of dropping half a grand on a product that could be rendered useless in a few years or less if the company flops.

Took this from the Sirius website; you should try to find someone else with the service so you can bundle with them for cheap.

This is why I am so glad I got it when I did. I got it about 2 or 3 months before Stern started his show on it. At the time they had a deal for a lifetime membership for around 500 bucks. I got it and am glad I did. I am now starting to wish I sould have set up another account and bought another lifetime membership when they offered it again when I had the money. That way if I was to ever get another car I could have it in that one too.

As for a deal the only thing I can think of is the 1 and 2 year deals. I dont' know if they do the lifetime thing anymore.

Thats great to know thanks! I love my Sirius, couldn't go back to regular radio, but would love it alittle cheaper.
 
I got XM radio for 5 months @ $20.00. I have gotten that twice so far. I like the Opie & Anthony show and Ron & Fez. Like InvaderzIM said, retentions department are the best.

Yes, you can still buy a lifetime for $399 or at least it was when I bought another one a few months ago. I think you have to call for it. A lifetime used to get you a lifetime login for online listening but not anymore.
 
Just a word of warning,

Watch out for spotty signal. SiriusXM has shut down most of it's terrestrial repeaters per the FCC. If you are in an area that relied on one to get a strong signal, you might be screwed. It happened to me, I can barely listen to 3 minutes of XM during my 18 minute commute. I'm barely halfway through a prepaid year and can't get a refund because they only guarantee service for a "stationary radio with a clear view to the southwest sky" .

I wish Chrysler would have originally partnered with XM (as I like their shows more) but I won't complain too loudly. I'll have to take some of these ideas into consideration. I'm interested in the partnership for $8 a month. I know a couple guys who also have it, I'll have to see what can be done.

I did not know that. However you can still get online listening. Atleast I'm getting it. I had to log on and set up an account for it with in the account. It is not the cd quality but you can still listen to it online.
