Skylanders Legendary 3-Pack Event @ TRU April 18th

This Wednesday (April 18th) at most or all Toys R' Us locations there will be an event for Skylanders Legendary 3-Pack. I'm in Clarksville, TN. and my buddy Spectreon is in Tyler, TX. and can confirm this for these locations. It is one 3-pack per customer and I'm not sure if Blue Bash and Sunburn Adventure Pack will be available too. The manager at my store said they will be getting 41 of the Legendary 3-packs and handing out numbers for amount on hand; can/will vary by store. Emails were sent out to some Rewards members and if I come across the email I will post it.

Just placed my pre-order for Camo, Warnado and Wham Shell. The last ones my daughter needs. Don't know when they will ship though. Not an issue right now as she is not playing Skylanders very often, she is playing the Kingdom Hearts series for PS2. Thanks OP!!!!!!!
 
If you are hunting anything except this legendary 3 pack sac yourself the trip. Me and a buddy just hit two different toysrus in our area. Turns out this is purely boxes of the L figures. I know it wasn't said they'd have others, but in the past they did. So just a heads up so anyone else hoping same wont waste thier gas. :whistle2:/

Are the shelves getting cleared of the singles or just the legendary? I was hoping that this event would cause them to have a massive restock tomorrow.
 
Guess I'll stop by my local TRU today as I was heading to the bank anyway. We bought the Legendary 3 pack back in Feb. but my kid always wanted Warnado, and that Dragon Peak pack sounds interesting. I'll report back after lunch.

Oh, and we bought the PS3 game for $50 at Target - my kid had just received a $45 Target GC for his birthday and I made him wait for the sale- and the 3DS version for $35 at TRU, seemed worth it when the characters were hard to get, especially the "Life" element and Ignitor. $25 for Legendary pack, $8 each Voodood and Whirlwind at Target. So expensive $126, but not much moreso than any other 2 video games and 11 action figure toys (similar sized Pokemon toys we collect run about $5 each.)
 
You guys are ALL very welcome, and I personally think it is worth the wait (although I do not think the wait will be too long from my own past experience) 'cause at least we don't need to pay OUTRAGEOUSLY HIGH premiums for getting those now. Probably it is a good time to clean up some backlogs while waiting. Just a token of my thought... :D

Btw, PLEASE do not bash me for not creating a separate thread earlier for this one. I just found the link on Amazon while browsing through this thread and wanted to get the news out to fellow cags asap. ;)

Thanks a ton. I don't mind waiting a bit for it, and Amazon almost always comes through in the end. We still have 6 left in the stash for my son for special occasions, Wham Shell will probably get bumped to the front of the line when he gets here, but at least we are just sitting around waiting to get lucky and find one. The main thing is it limits the need to go scouring the stores for this last one.

BTW, I dropped by TRU this morning and they had a bunch of Legendary 3 packs, a bunch of Legendary Trigger Happys, a ton of old singles, several 3 packs and a few Adventure packs on the wall. They did not have Camo, Warnado or Wham Shell. Nor did they have Lightning Rod, Zook (single or 3 pack) or Dragon's Peak. Everything was wave 3 or before, but at least they did have a good stock if you still need some of those. Not a whole lot of people, and they didn't do the line thing, they just opened the doors. They also did not place strict limits on how many you bought, a couple people asked how many they could buy - and the guy said as long as it wasn't like a carton of them it was fine. Those people bought two Legendary 3 packs each, so I doubt they were reselling.

Just watched a guy buy a case of them. They had almost a pallet of legendary 3 packs. Nothing else though

I hope he is buying them for his friends or has lots of kids, they are practically worthless on Ebay. The only ones with bids are the ones that are at the TRU retail of $24.99 or below. Maybe he plans to sit on them a long while and hope they dry up again, but given most TRU got in 60+ and have been getting them in regularly since February I doubt it. "Legendary" does not equal "Rare", despite the fact that TRU did not plan ahead prior to Christmas. These were never intended to be limited editions. The gold/silver/pearl/clear ones are the rare collector/limited ones. As a matter of fact, from looking at Ebay over the past few weeks it appears the only thing that seems to be regularly getting bids over retail are the brand new Wave 5 stuff.
 
Was first in line. Was given a printout of item name, price and upc to present in gamer zone/electronics. Saw about 4-5 boxes behind the register. When lady gave us numbered printouts she told us if people didn't show we could buy two. Hope some of you benefitted from this and got one step closer to completing your collection.

There were about 30 of them in a bin at the front of the one by me.
 
Ok so lunch was over a long time ago but at the Massapequa TRU they were filled to the rafters w/ Skylanders. At least 30 Legendary Trigger Happy, 30 Legendary 3 packs, a whole bunch of singles - as in every available wall hook was overflowing, a few other triple packs, 4 Pirate Adventure Packs. I was really close to buying the Cynder 3 pack as she is so cute but the $25 price turned me off, and my kid doesn't want Lightning Rod for some reason. Though now that I see how rare those 3 are I probably should have picked it up. Oh well.
 
I picked up a Legendary 3 pack. The four Dragon's Peak I saw yesterday were gone but that's not surprising. Looks like they got a ton of the Legendary 3 packs
