I've been trying to download THE OUFIT Demo for 3+ hours now. Going extremely slow. I tried Burnout Trailer the other night, went slow. I downloaded a 30MB Arcade demo in a few minutes. So, it seems to be a Marketplace issue. ANYWAYS....

Ok, so those with SLOW Marketplace downloads....is their any similiarities to out setups?

I have:
- COMCAST Cable Internet.
- Linksys WRT-54G (WIRED connection)
- Windows XP (nothing else running in the background that should slow it down)
- XBOX 360 (Manufacturer Date 1/17/06). I just got it back this week after the others did not work. I used to be able to download demos quick. I got the Fight Night R3 in about 25 minutes I believe.

I tested my DL speeds, and it was around 4MB/sec with the online tests.

What gives?

I had the same problem, where I was downloading trailers/demos and it kept staying at 5%, however I came to realize that for me the progress doesn't change on my screen, but after waiting 10 minutes at 5% its really at 51%. You can cancel and download again, and it will tell you where your progress really is. Bottom line, if you are stuck on a % just let it sit there because for me it was actually downloading, but my progress bar wasnt being updated to tell me what percent I was at. A lot of people probably just give up when they notice that they are stuck at a certain percentage.

somethings wrong. im having the same problem with the same demo. it stays at 5%. if you cancel and start over, it says that 51% has downloaded. either way, it won't complete the download. on a different note, i can't imagine downloading games or movies at this speed in the future. i hope the speed improves.

Well, I cancelled and tried again...kicked me back down to 50%. I think that is the default. MS needs to fix the progress bar.
Anyways, I think I may just let in run overnight....I turned AUTO-OFF on, so my console should shut off...hopefully.

Servers are crapping out. Think about it... thousands of requests for a 400+ MB files. Even with a firm like akamai caching the material, that's a hell of a lot of data. Frankly, I'm not surprised. Even the smaller BF2 trailer (57 MB) took over 10 min. to download.

I think it's going insanely slow because you keep cancelling it. That's one of the reasons, anyway.

Be more patient, grasshoppah.

No, Ididn't cancel anything today....a trailer should only take 10 minutes tops....if you check out XBOX.com forums, you will notice a LOT of people are having SLOW Marketplace downloads. I hope it's not a system issue.....I've sent back two already.

It's traffic. All of the downloads are on the same Microsoft server. Over the next few days, it's gonna be slow as shit, no matter what you download, because people are downloading The Outfit demo (a large file) off of the same server.

That's all there is to it.

I tried downloading the Burnout demo BEFORE the OUTFIT was released and it went just as slow....any more suggestions?

I find it odd that it takes some 10 minutes, and other hours for the same file. MS needs to fix some things really soon.....and they want to offer D/L TV shows in the future....good luck.
