not a bad deal considering I traded in most of them already at a local game store and Got MLB 2K7 on 360 and paid off mY 360 Guitar Hero with the remainder. GREAT DEAL and that was only the first best buy, gonna hit another one here in a bit
 
So i'm in the bay area CA but had the opposite happen. Games would be listed as 1.99 but ring up as $20 :bomb:

Anyone have a solution? Should I just go back in a few days? And those x-mas games were still $10 :cry:

Best Buy won't do shit, the sad fact is they don't care about customers. If I was you I'd get names & talk to a lawyer about the fact that they humilatied you & then you were called a "fucking prick" on top of everything else.

At the least report it to the Better Business Bureau.

Holy crap. I would have raised so much hell, there's no way I'd ever let a manager accuse me of illegal activities by simply having a list and then take away my games that were on the shelves for anybody in the world to buy. I'd call coporate and demand an answer as to why you were treated like that and what they plan to do about it. Call them. If you write an email, you'll get the standard "I'm sorry for your experience. I have forwarded your email to the district manager for further assistance" reply and then you'll never hear back from them. Don't just let this slide dude.

Call Best Buy Corporate ASAP.
Tell them you want to speak to someone in operations.
Most likely the District Manager will call you.
Hopefully, if the calls happen fast enough, you'll get an apology, the dozen games (that's why ASAP) and some credit to help buy the games.

I'm going to have to agree that Best Buy doesn't care. Remember their official "Devil Customer" policy. It is OFFICIAL POLICY that you are the enemy, and worthless to them. There's no better illustration of a Devil Customer than a guy with 12 clearanced games and a list.
 
I was in the area, so I stopped by. Not surprisingly, there were no good games from the clearance. I did, however, see 5 PS3s just sitting on the shelf. Does this mean Jack Tretton is gonna make me rich? :D

It was this South Elgin store that helped me out. I didn't find much, but the staff there is much more helpful than most stores. Heck, they're helpful unlike any store. If I can, I will do all my major shopping at this one just to return the kindness... But, if I have to slum at some of the other stores in the area to get a clearance item or a penny guide, I will.
 
Alright, so I know that the North Carolina Triangle Area CAGs are few, but has anyone checked our Best Buys yet? I wanted to go to the one in Durham yesterday, but I didn't know if it was worth it. I called and they weren't aware of any clearance.

It sucks not being able to drive =_=

I wouldn't have given up those games. If he continued acting like an ass, I would have demanded his name, and that he get someone higher on the phone NOW.

I don't know about that. One of the clearance games that I bought the other day was Mario Tennis for the GBA. At the time I didn't realize it because the game was inside of one of those hard plastic shells, but the box wasn't shrinkwrapped and there was no game in the box. I went back to the store, plenty ready for them to tell me that I couldn't get a refund and that I'd probably stolen the game, but they were actually pretty good about it, and gave me a full refund. Granted, the whole selling me an empty box thing was pretty much Best Buy's responsibility in the first place, but I was still happy I didn't have to fight for it. All the same, I'm going to be a bit more wary about the condition of the items that I purchase there.

Even so, the manager that Prepster mentioned was a complete douche. Guy needs to be fired.
 
You know, that situation with that manager type leads me to the recent penny guide problems I've had with BB. Their employees keep putting at least 1-3 back on the shelves even as far as a month after the drop. So, in my opinion, in both cases(with clearance games + the guides) I should be allowed to buy the items at whatever price they ring up.

The clerks looked at me with my hand scrawled note with the games I was looking for yesterday at the 2 local BB's near me and the one clerk was very helpful looking up items in stock for me.

However, most of the items on my list had already been gobbled up by others long before I got there. I'm still shocked I found the Beatmania bundles I did. After all, those things are a steal for $1.99, since they dropped from $59.99 to $2.

But hey, I didn't complain since I got one of the things I wanted and now if I want to, I can go to Kmart and plunk down $15 for Ninja Gaiden Black and it's like it's paid for already.
 
I hate to say it but you shouldn't have lied in a situation like this. This list was posted by a Best Buy employee and was all over the internet for 3 days straight so there's nothing wrong with saying that's where you got your list and you had highlighted a few games that you wanted.

However, i still would make a complaint and don't just write some pussy letter, call customer service and ask to be transfered to the Office of President's Administrative Assistant. It may take you awhile but if you can get a hold of someone in the part of the company then THEY WILL TAKE YOU SERIOUSLY. Not sure if you'll ever get those 12 games but make sure you have a list of what you had and how much it would have cost to buy them at clearance. Have the store # you went to which is one bestbuy.com if you look up store locations, have the girl's name who was the cashier and find out who that damn manager was.

And don't give up until something is done because Best Buy in my opinion is a awesome company and a few pricks who work for them shouldn't ruin the companies reputation so if you fight hard enough then those fags will be fired and that's good for us CAGs because who wan'ts a hassle when you are going in and paying cash for clearance items!!!!!!!!

Any CAGs who mainly bought these games as trade fodder should just keep the BeatMania bundles, as they get a whopping $8 in trade credit @ GS. The controller itself goes for $2 and the game gets $5 or so. Add in the Edge Card 10% and any other bonuses to get the $8 total.

And FYE, forget about them, I asked them for a quote too. It gets $1 from them.

Just a quick heads up for CAGs who got the BM bundle(I can imagine the jokes now)and were going to trade it to GS or someplace else.
 
Daggot- I hit the Garner one yesterday. Part of me is thinking of hitting it again in a bit with the faint chance that they might have more. I just got off the phone with my buddy at the Wilmington store, and they had 2 games still (ps2 FSW and ps2 Veggie Tales).

Anyone know about Fayetteville or anything else popping up in Garner?
 
Best Buy has the right to refuse anyone service. Every time there's a clearance, someone gets all bent out of shape over a couple games. Get over it and learn something from it.

AMEN TO THAT...I put all this crap on my PDA (penny guide list, clearance titles and prices, all that stuff) and I walk around the store like I'm some secret operative working for upper management and it gives me strength and power and makes me spend my asspennies and I am supreme...okay everything except the part about the stuff on the PDA is crazy ranting...but I do keep my lists on my Palm...
 
This thread is confusing I can't really figure out what is going on. I went to BB yesterday and they had some of teh games that were noted to be part of this "clearance" but they were all marked at full price and rang up full price.

Are all BB's part of this? I'm in Tulsa OK.

Actually, I got a bit bent out of shape when they denied me on the guides that were ringing up .00 in the system during the Prima $10 off sale. The one store denied me, but I hit up the other local store the next day and got some of the ones I wanted. I also put in a complaint to Best Buy's site and was sent a $20 giftcard for my time and trouble with the guides.

Of course, I tried this once before when they denied me penny guides and they never even responded. So I guess that shows their difference of reaction to someone being denied an actual SALE to someone simply trying to buy something that shouldn't even be out on the floor.

The person who had the problem with the manager should complain, as what's the worst that could happen? They will probably give them a gift card for the games or even ship them the games they had(if they kept a list of them). You never know till you try.

Yeah I never understood how people can walk around with 3 page lists because it just makes you a target for managers. From the games on the list, I think I made a list of about 40 games and printed it out with a size 6 font with 20 games on each side so the list basically fits in the palm of one hand.

omgu8myrice- not at my store I went to. The games were in the regular spots, some with changed prices and some with the old price. It all depends on your store.

Nope, at least at the BB I visited the few games on clearance were just mixed in with the others and didn't have reduced price tags. Only way you could find them is with a list.

that's not a bad idea - anyone have receipts with the GOOD games on them? Not the Strawberry Shortcake, Barbie, That's So Raven, and Mr. Turtles Tea Time Adventures shit.

Oh and BTW, to the people complaining about carrying around lists, WHY??? Are lists illegal now? Give me a break! If anyone asks, you just tell them this is a list your child or kid brother/sister/neice/nephew gave you in order to buy them a birthday gift.
