Awesome job OP. Don't pay attention to the impatient whiners. I'm guessing most of them have never even contributed a deal to this. It's not like we need it right away anyway, since the deal apparently doesn't start until monday.

Thanks again OP and please ignore the ungrateful, whining, spoiled brats in this thread. The rest of us applaud your efforts and truly appreciate what you've done. CAG is a great community. Please don't let a few bad apples spoil it for you.

I don't think there's anything wrong with people being skeptical... keep in mind that BK just joined TODAY. Not just this month... so people have a right to feel a little weird about it.

But am I the only one who was skeptical off the bat, not because of who posted, but that Mario Party 7 is among the games? At $1.99??????? Is Best Buy really that stupid? They could have probably cleared this game out at $10, even $20, most likely. I remember this deal from the last time, remembered that the clearance had the same exact pricing structure ($2, $5, $10), and nothing like MP7 was on that list, not that I remember, at least. Likewise for some of the other games that have shown up later in this thread. Crap, if this works out, this could be better than the old CC $5 sale three years ago.

Oh, and seeing "Nobody post this thread on SD or FW!!!" made me lol. Anyway, if this ends up working out, thanks alot BK. I thought I was done chasing around ridiculous deals like this, but you may have brought me out of temporary retirement for this one. Should be fun.

its alright to be skeptical, just don't be a dick about it (not talking about you). I was skeptical too, but I wasn't going to demand proof RIGHT NOW, or anything like that.
 
I keep an emergency credit card (limit = $5000) on standby just for instances like this.....when that list pops up, it is ON AND CRACKIN'!!:bouncy:
 
I just pray we have people here who will sell this stuff for a REASONABLE price to fellow CAG's. I can't make it to a store until 3pm monday and this would be the perfect birthday present.

A very similar clearance happened last year at this time, so it's very believable, IMO...

I just got back from my BB, and I believe this deal is on. ALL of the games mentioned so far are completely gone (including the ones Brazil mentioned in later posts), as well as a few others I know they had many copies just a few days ago (Snoopy and the Red Barron for the PS2, e.g.). I'm assuming the games were already horded by the employees, which is why these BB clearances generally turn out pretty lame. I STRONGLY encourage everyone to check their BB tonight if possible and grab whatever you can find... if mine is any indication, pickings are already going to be slim
due to employee hording.

Some people are gonna hate hearing this, but this sounds like a return-rebuy sale. Unless BB plans on hiding these games until Monday, the good stuff will probably be gone before then.

Do you think it is possible they are pulling them together in like a bin, or employees are just grabbing everything?

I hate to say it but thats what i'm planning on. I'd only do it to 4-5 games MAX though and all games i had planned to keep.

QFT. I can't make it there at all until 9:30 PM on Monday at the earliest and, considering this area, everything will already be gone by 10:10 AM.

The only thing I can offer, aside from respectable amounts of money for time and effort, is the notion that this area is filled with people intent on grabbing deals who tend to leave the rares and the gems alone. So if people are having trouble getting Yggra Union for $20 at EB, or have been clammoring for, say, Gradius III and IV with case and insert...well, I could have better luck on those than others. ;)

But thanks for all of the work so far in the thread, everyone. Clearances like this make me grin ear-to-ear. :D
 
I might be able to hit a store tomorrow... but it all depends on what Apossum is able to find. If he finds the first two that I was looking for and comes back with a positive report, I might run around tomorrow... but who knows.

I can only speak from my personal experience with Best Buy clearances, but I've encountered what I believe to be employee hording at numerous stores. For example, last year, I went just two days before the clearance (which I was unaware was coming up due to my internet being out at the time) and noticed at least half a dozen copies of Growlanser... found out about the deal, was the first one in the store on the morning of, and every single clearance game was gone. I've had similar experiences at other BB stores.... I've never really see them do bins like CC stores do.
 
Just can from the store as is already known there is a list!
Games were mixed by system all over the list. Person I talked to was an ASS!
Managed to see Caslevania (GBA) NES version and double-pack.
Bought VP II (PS2) in hopes it will be on sale...as it is no longer on Best Buys web site.

Vahn401 never said there was a list. He said he would go to his work and print it out if there is one. How does him going to work to find out if there is a list translate to, "there's definitely a list, everyone that doesn't believe it is a stupid n00b!"

There probably is a sale, but when someone posts groups of unrelated games every five minutes, it's unclear as to which games are actually on the list. There was one last year, but it's been stated by numerous people that everything was crap, as opposed to the good games the OP has been posting. Amazing deals one year, and terrible deals another?

I hope your monitor exploded right then, kevzik.

This is probably why :(
 
Last year when this went down, I believe the list was much smaller, though I can't be sure. Anyway, the majority of the games were put on a rack near the front of the store.

If my personal experience and the others that are starting to flow in are any indication, I doubt there's going to be much of anything even when the stores open on Monday.

You know the employee hoarding comment in my opinion is not true, i'm sure some employees grabs some stuff here and there but for the most part i've found that Best Buy and it's employees fracking rock, it's one of the best electronic stores in the United States and i do almost all my shopping exclusively there.

Now as a comparison lets take Gamesstop or EbGames, their employees suck worse than the company and they do hoard all the good deals on games and guides and they make a practice of ripping off their customers. In my opinion so please no flaming!
 
It's times like these I almost hope these games are impossible to find. Granted I've played a good number of the games I own off that list, but damn. If only I knew that one random day a year-plus from when I purchased them that a dozen of my games would be $2, I'd have held off buying them (I'm looking at you, Chibi and MMX Collection!).

Actually, a quick question if I may. I don't know if I'm misremembering this or whatnot but, with some previous deals, I could have sworn some people were buying early and then price adjusting afterwards. Would that potentially be "kosher" on this clearance or would Best Buy not honor repricings?

And if this has already been asked and answered, feel free to verbally execute me in whatever ways fit you best. ;)
 
Since the games are dropping maybe the people that saw the employees pulling them off the shelves were just doing so to resticker them.
