Don't bother to go to 86th St/Lex Ave BB in NYC. I went there first thing in the morning and only found DDR Ultramix 3 w/pad (Xbox), they HAD a bunch, but there were 3 kids that basically bought 3 to 4 copies each and cleaned out the inventory. I grabbed one right before the locusts descended.

That was the only 1.99 game I saw.

That post makes the most sense. My area has a super low concentration of CAG, FW, and SD so that is the only explanation of why I saw common games like Wind Waker and Soul Caliber 2 a month ago, but none today.

Like so many others have said, it's pretty clear that either the employees had first dibs or they haven't had some of the titles in stock for a long time. There were a few crap PSP games in the seperate clearance area, most XBox titles were still marked full price (Halo 2 for ~$40?) and this location has *always* had a laughable 'Cube section.

It wasn't a total bust though, pushing through all the mumbling nerds was as enjoyable as any $1.99 game. Moses parting the friggin' Nerd Sea.

Thanks for linking the list. I'm out the door after this, even though it's after 11 and the store's have been open for a hour and a half by the time I get there. The one good thing is that there are five Best Buy's less than 20 minutes from my house. And if I want to drive for 30 minutes, I could go to another six or so.
 
The Tenleytown, DC BB has very little -- I was there at 10 a.m., got the last copy of Tony Hawk American Wasteland for the 360, but saw nothing else on the list (except two copies of Bad Boys: Miami Takedown for PS2, but I wasn't going near that one, even at $1.99).

I also looked for DS, XB and GBA and saw nothing at all.

There was another frustrated gamer there with a printed list -- I beat him by about 10 seconds to Tony Hawk. All in all not worth the trip, though I suppose I shouldn't complain about landing a 360 game for $10.

Just got back from the GSP Best Buy and the Rt 17N Best Buy in New Jersey. GSP Best Buy had nothing. Rt 17N Best Buy had around 20-30 games on the list. All I picked up was Front Mission 4 $1.99 and Deus Ex: Invisible War for $1.99. Nothing really great there. If anyone is interested they did have Capcom Classics for XBOX for $4.99. The rest were real stinkers.

Not worth it. I was there yesterday. I got the only decent game they had - Ratchet & Clank GC for $2 but that was about it. Nothing for PSP, DS, GBA...

Got there right at doors opening (actually 3 minutes after as the woman couldn't get the gate open from inside the mall) and there was only one other guy with a list until about 10 minutes in. After 15-20 mins there were 5 people w/lists looking and by then there was literally nothing left. Also, the Urbz for the DS was not "clearanced" as when I got to the register it still rang up @ $14.99. The clerk checked and no drop in price. A few of the store employees had no clue what was going on as to why so many people were buying/looking for certain games...just goes to show that not all are on top of things there.

Well good luck to all and hope some of you really clean house.

My total came to $40.18. Not bad considering regular price for all would have been $163.07!!!

I managed to find nothing either. The games on the list that they actually had (only 2) rang up regular price. No empty shelves and the employees said that they didn't have the games even last week and they knew nothing about the sale. No go in Virginia Beach, VA.
 
I got Drill Dozer, Ninja Gaiden, and saw FF: CC but forgot it was on the list until after the sale and passed it up. I tried to get Super Monkey Ball for the GC, but that rang up at the regular price, and the clerk was told by his supervisor that the list would only be honored if the price instantly rang up at whatever their clearance price was listed as - they wouldn't adjust it to suit the list. So for $4, I got two games (well, more actually, since NG has the NG trilogy on it) - I'm happy. I was surprised that they didn't have any 360 stuff, not even the Oblivion CE despite dozens of copies being in the store.

There weren't many people there at open when we came, either. One group of four people just wanted the Sonic collections, and we helped each other look for stuff. They didn't find anything they wanted, but I at least snagged two games I was interested in. None of the clearance prices were marked, and all of the games were just in their regular areas without any notice of them being clearance items.
 
So is this silly going at 3:00pm to check for some XBX titles?

I have my list of all the BC XBX titles made up, and I want to get those 1.99 XBX360 games.
 

All the employees are really bad actors, too. Every one of them kept saying, "I have no idea what you're talking about," or" I had no idea there was a sale going on...," and repeated it so much that it appeared rehearsed. They were so full of crap it was almost amusing


I work there and let me tell you that the majority of us do not know about the sales, and if we do know about the sales it's thanks to this thread. Nobody ever reads the Retail Insider, especially if it's not for their departement.

And also we do not get "first dibs" on much. We were not even allowed to purchase 360's and PS3's until January. Same for the laptops that are on sale every Sunday, if we want them we have to stay in line like everyone else.

I went in my store last night and checked our inventory system to see what we had in stock, and left. I didin't waste my time asking the media sup if she could put this and that on hold for me.

There should of been about 9 games there. I was there yesterday and left some games for some people. I know its messed up but if you go back, most of the games are in the xbox section in the bottom row in the middle and the same thing on the PSP section. Go back if you want.
 
Forgot to add. That at the GSP Best Buy in New Jersey one of the employees had a list and was looking for stuff for himself. But the place was either cleaned out by a previous employee or CAG or it just had nothing to begin with. The stores around here don't open on Sunday so I am pretty sure it was an employee who cleaned it out if there were any games at that store to begin with.
 
Attn: Michigan CAG’s – I work at the Lansing Mall Best Buy and we have a large number of clearance games (300+) pulled to put out in the morning. Most of the popular games are there (except for GC MP7).

they havent been put out yet as off 11:00
 
Went to Best Buy in Pasadena TX, they only had 1 copy of College Hoops 2k6 for XBX360 & about 4 copies of NHL 2k6 for 360. I got 1 of each & grabbed a copy of Street Fighter Anniversary Collection for XBox. I only took a list of 360 games & remembered a few of the XBox titles. I didn't see any PSP sale titles or any other 360 titles. It looked like they had several PS2 & Xbox titles on the list. As for Gamecube, they were pulling most everything off the shelf & putting it on a cart.

So there definately is some stuff still left at the Pasadena TX Best Buy as of 10am today. Your best bet is if your looking for regular Xbox games. Too bad they didn't have any other 360 titles, ohh well hopefully the achievements on these 2 are relatively easy. I know their trade in value is basically nil.
 
MIAMI: Passed by the Kendall Drive Best Buy next to the Turnpike in Miami. Nothing of course, but I did find some of the Final Fantasy XII Art Collection booklets ;o

Clark St. Best Buy in Chicago didnt have much. Just a few hoarders taking what little they had left. Like Shrek Super Slam or whatever.

Pissed, all I wanted was Worms DS. Not I got nothing because of the fuck -ing FW mother fuck -ers
 
I love all of the rage against the mythical FW and SD hoarders for why a store has little or no games. I realize the hoarders do exist, but 95% of the time, it is because the Best Buys didn't have shit to begin with. Many of them have pretty pathetic video game sections and stuff that is more than 6 months old won't be found.
 
Apparently, some jerk from Fatwallet raided our Best Buy the other day and bought around 80+ games(AKA almost every game that was supposed to be on sale today). I really wanted to get Over the Hedge DS too :(

Darn, I work downtown and was planning on heading up there over lunch, but I won't bother. I'm guessing Pentagon City is even more picked over, so there's probably no point in going down there.
 
Don't bother with the Union, NJ best buy as its been picked clean. There was 4 people already there with lists gobbling up stuff but nothing worthwhile. Just some crappy gba games that I would never pay $1.99 for. They probabaly got like 4 games each. I was curious so I looked at their stack to see their crappy selection LOL Asked employee if there were any more games available for sale and was told 2 couples came in and bought around 20 games. Best Buy is to mainstream and everyone and their kids is a hoarder/reseller now. Uneffinbeleiveable

Thanks to the OP for this deal! I got in right as the store opened today. There were lots of people with lists (amazing the types of people this deal brought out, at least in my area where online-posted deals don't usually generate any response at all), but their lists must have been crappy. They weren't finding anything at all. I picked up:

All I got was Dawn of Sorrow. But I since I went the day before and saw nothing on the shelves, I figured they took all of them in the back and waited the next day.

Now, I get the burning impression the titles I wanted were never there in the first place.

But hey, I got Dawn of Sorrow so it wasn't a total loss.... Now all I have to wait for is a $99 DS Lite.

I agree. People get way too worked up over something that probably never happened. When I look through those bins that employees throw all the games in, I'll usually hold a stack of games (I don't intend to buy) to make room in the bin so I can shuffle stuff around to see it all. Sometimes I wonder if someone will assume I'm hoarding and take a pic to post here and/or punch me in the face (since everyone seems to be fond of saying they'll do that to hoarders).

More on topic, the BB at Tyson's and Sterling (in VA) had nothing.
 
I got very lucky because the employees at my store actually didn't know about it until they got there. The manager didn't give them the list until they got there so the games weren't marked but still rang up at the correct prices.
I'm glad I got there when I did though because many people came in for the deals because it was on a local radio station and as soon as a game got priced it was sold. Because I already knew the list I was able to grab stuff before it was priced. Everyone was harrassing the video game setion guy, grabbing games like Lost Planet and making him scan them to see if they were cheaper. Because I left him alone when he wasn't being harrassed he brought me some games that were 1.99 and aked me if I wanted them so that he wouldn't have to price them.

I got Mega Man X Collection for 1.99 for GameCube! Too bad that's all I found, but I'm ok, since I actually was thinking about getting this game used at gamestop where they had it for like 10 or 12 bucks. I got a brand new copy for 2 bucks, so I can't complain, but I really would've been happy if I could've left with 3 or 4 games of the the 25 or so I had wanted.
 
i just got back from my best buy here in ATL. i went to the one over on barret pkwy if anyone is wondering. well, anyway, they had about 10 of the games on the list total there, but most of them were crap like thats so raven for GBA and hustle for PSP. there were a few FW and SD people lurking around w/ lists in hands and that one guy bought all the copies of hustle. i was able to find a couple of gems though. i found rachet & clank 1 for PS2 and final fantasy: crystal chronicles for GC. they had katamari damacy there, but it was ringing up $20, so i didnt get it . i also picked me up a wii points card while i was there.:D

all in all, it was ok it was no CC clearance sale though

what did surprise me is that my best buy had about 20 wii's in stock if anybody is looking for one

i know that FW guy w/ the list bought 2 of them and i asked him why and he said to sale on ebay along w/ the all the copies of hustle he bought:censored: i hate FW people

Seriously, there were at least 20 copies of Obliviion: CE there yesterday at 12:30pm. I bought one.
