cheked out both best buys in fort wayne IN apple crossing evidently had alot of psp, cube, xbox ps2 stuff I saw one guy go through and pull 30-40 games - I went to the 360 section all they had there was fifa not interested in that, glennbrook had no hoarders but not much of a selection either ran into 2-3 guys picking up 2-4 games a piece but no 360 games there at all

At the Woodlands, TX store I managed to get CV DoS and Ultimate Ghosts n Goblins. Had a few other items I wasn't interested in.

According to the internal computer, the Galleria store had 75 copies of Elder Scrolls CE. And before anyone asks, I can't make the drive down there. Sorry. Hopefully that helps some fellow Houston CAGers.


Oh....and Nanobreaker rings up 9.99 as long as it has that Frontline UPC code stuck over the real upc code.
 
Quick update from Orlando, FL:

I went to one Best Buy store as it opened up and came out with nothing. I picked up Elder Scrolls for 360 thinking it was the one on sale but it wasn't. I didn't see any of the 360 games, or regular Xbox for that matter. I saw a few people buying one or two games here or there, but most of them didn't seem to be on the list and people were just buying to buy something.

I traveled twenty minutes to another Best Buy and found similar results, though their selection was much better. Still, no King Kong for 360 (which I wanted) or any good regular Xbox games (I did see Jade Empire, then realized it was the Spanish version). I also saw Red Dead Revolver, but had my heart set on a few others so decided to pass.

So basically, I left with nothing. An interesting note, however, is that at the first Best Buy store, there was an employee putting up the new price stickers as we were all checking out the games; he didn't seem like he was able to find the games either. At the other Best Buy, there were no price stickers, no employees changing them, nothing.

But I did see the price stickers, so I do know this exists. Too bad most of these games weren't carried at BB even before the sale.

I just went and found nothing and I live in a stupid hick town and I KNOW people wouldn't have found out about this from the internet. So I'm positive unless it was employees who took all the stuff that this is true. I think it's basically like "whatever we forgot to inventory and left on the shelf, you can have for next to nothing" type of deal. The only thing I found was a few copies of True Crime New York, which I care nothing about getting so I didn't even check the price. I made a big list of games and nothing else was there, and I got there right when my store opened.

So word of advise for all, this is more or less bogus. Maybe bogus is not the right word because if you do find them the prices listed on this thread seem they're correct but it's a sale for games that are no longer in the store unless you get lucky and you have a store that didnt' do inventory right. The games more than likely won't be available to buy, not neccessarily because of others buying them but because they were taken off the shelves awhile back.

I should also mention at 10 am in Pasadena TX I was the only person looking through the games. Some people should still be able to go score on some of the PS2 & XBox titles & possibly some of the Gamecube stuff if the employee hasn't taken his bin to the back yet. There were no carthogs at that store... Kinda wish I'd have taken the whole list, but at least I was able to grab a few cheapie titles.
 
GTA San Andreas GH rang up for its regular $19.99 price same for Sega Genesis Collection I returned them. I did find one of the two Final Fantasy IV Advance I saw yesterday I used the $5 coupon got it for $4.99. I did see two copies of Madden 07 PSP but I did not buy them because I did not have a $5 off coupon if I go back again I might buy them anyway if they are still there.

Well for one Sega Genesis Collection is not on the list, It's Sega Classics those are two different games. And Was GTA SA for PS2? If so I dont know about that one.
 
Nothing really great at my Best Buy. I mostly picked up cheap crap, and a couple games I sort of wanted. The extra crap I was able to trade in for $34, and I spent $40, so I pretty much broke even I guess.
 
yeah, I had the same problem with GTA:SA. I did managed to score a couple of good items like Beat Mania bundle, Pikmin 2, and Final Fantasy:CC ($4.99), but pretty much ended up with 2nd tier titles. There wasn't really anyone else there but me and a couple of other cool guys around my age. Thankfully there weren't any carthoggers and we actually shared lists and tried to find some stuff together. I even let another guy know about the last Beat Mania. So it wasn't too amazing but ended up being pretty good
 
When I got to the Aurora, IL Best Buy, off 59, six people were there for the same reason, and we all walked out empty handed. They had pretty much nothing there, and the only things that were marked down were in a small separate section, for PS2, XBOX, and GBA only. They DID have a couple cheap games there (I spotted Gottlieb Pinball Hall of Fame for $5), but nothing really great, mostly just the junk games, and a lot of them were priced at $10-15, prices you'd expect for them. No "deals" whatsoever.

The retail clerk there said this was all that was planned, but they usually have something at the end of March/beginning of April that's similar to what was posted, where there might be some $2/$5 titles. So I guess I'll have to make sure I wait until then.
 
If anyone was able to get some games, I'd be happy to buy them from you, especially if you just went to get games to trade in at game stores for joke trade prices. with $ in my paypal account, I'm all fired up and ready to go.

Well, I got to BB in Buffalo , ny at 9:50 am to find fellow cagers waiting for the doors to open. The mighty cagers or imposter cagers rushed in with a few games jotted down on a napkin and found that all the games were gone. Then I saw some scuzzball flea market guy scowering the scene in hopes of hoarding the day! Everyone left with nothing and I then took my time. I found sega casino and sprung for ds , but they rang up $9.99. I then got hi puffy anime and duel masters gba and they rang up $9.99, I then got enthusia ps2 and it too rang up at $9.99. WTF. So I was only able to get Samurai western for $1.99 and NCAA 2k6 college hoops for 360 for $4.99. Then all hell broke loose. The manager was like how did you know, where did you get this list, blah blah blah, and he only let me get 2 damn games! They then conviscated my list as other emplyoes are yelling at customers that asked about the secret sale. They give me some bull about how they can't sell games so cheap cause they loose money on them. Since when do BB employes care about BB ?

This really sucks, but I had to share my story. Thanks to the one nice fellow cager that told me about ncaa 26k for 360 and where to find.


I also have a 1600 point [x] live 360 card for trade, that they wouldn't take back cuz the 30 limit was up.

Our BB was SUCKED DRY. I was hoping they'd have emptied out the shelves but the employees there said that people just came in and bought whatever they wanted to PM later.

fuck! There were about a dozen people there and nobody picked up anything. There were a few items left like Ty the Tazmanian Tiger and Ridge Racer 4... but nothing worthwhile.:whistle2:(

I usually get pretty shit on when it comes to Best Buy deals, I never find a thing, so I guess the fact that I actually got SOMETHING was better than nothing. :)

I'm satisfied with my finds, and I got something for everyone. My fiancee will love Karaoke Revolution, her mom will love Puzzle Challenge, I will love DDR 3, my friend will love Feel The Magic and my other friend will love Wild Arms 4. I guess I made lots of my friends and family happy so I'm good. :)
 
BB at Mayfair in Wauwatosa, WI was pretty much a joke.

There were about 6 guys with lists before the store opened. I warned them there wasn't much there, since I had been to a few other BBs in Milwaukee on Saturday/Sunday. They still had crazy dreams of $2 MP7 and RR360....:roll:

The other people with the lists were *HILARIOUS*!! They had crazy dreams of $10 Oblivions, and went so far as asking for a price check on the *regular* Oblivion. When that showed at $60, they all declared the sale as fake and were agitated that BB employees didn't beleive their magical internet lists...:roll::roll:

I ended up buying the Banjo Pilot right away, then went back a few minutes later to show those guys the sale was REAL. They still didn't beleive me cuz of $60 Obilivion. I had to educate those people that it was the COLLECTOR's Obilivion that was $10.


Anyway, I found a Harvest Moon DS that someone put back after they thought the sale was 'dead'.:bouncy:

I had pre-boughts a few games for $84 yesterday at a different BB. I went to CS after buying Banjo Pilot, said these games have gone down in price, and the clerk scanned my reciept, hit a few buttons, and I got $74 back.:hot::hot:

I can confirm that GTA San Andreas greatest hits for PS2 was ringing up at $20 at the Tenleytown, DC store this morning. I assume the clearance prices are only for the original versions of GTA 3, VC and SA.
 
Zip and zilch were the only things I found in the Lakeland, FL store.

Probably shouldn't have wasted the time, considering the legs this sale has across the web, and the store policies on price protection.
 
Went in with a list I emailed to my phone. Only thing I could find was a copy of Quake 4 for 360, stuck between some other titles, which rang up for $10 despite being marked for $40. Everything else was pretty much gone. Some copies of Soul Calibur II which would have rang up for $5, but meh...

No signs or other indication of the sale. Only one other guy showed up a little while after me and asked a salesperson who said, "yeah, we don't have any of those $2 games"
 
Eh, not a total waste I suppose. I had adjusted my expectations pretty low on this one. ;) When I got there, there were 3 others standing in line at the door, all with lists. Two of them were together I believe, and the one really scrawny guy was talking loudly trying to be all "thug" - kept saying he was going to fight people for the games, and how it was going to be "Smackdown Vs Raw all over again!" :lol:

Anyway, once inside I figured (correctly) that everyone else was going to head to the 360 aisle, so I went to the PSP section. Didn't find much, but I did grab 2 copies of Popolocrois (one for myself & one for a friend). Went over to the PS2 section, and another guy that had come in after me asked me what I had so far - I showed him. I asked him what he had found, and he said he had the Megaman X Collection for PS2, but wasn't sure if he wanted it or not for $10. I told him if I didn't I did, so he said ok. About 10 minutes later, he sees me again & asks if I still wanted it - I said yes, and he said he had found the GC version for $2. That was fine by me, because I have the first MM collection for the PS2 & like to keep series on the same system - I'm weird like that. :p

So in the end, I came out with 2 I wanted (MMX & Popolocrois) and 2 for trade fodder (Siren & Constantine).

The checkout clerk was a real bitch tho. She rings up the Nanobreaker I had found near the checkout, and it comes up to $10. I politely tell her I don't want it, since I had heard it was supposed to be cheaper. She asks me what this list is everyone is talking about, and I tell her it's just a list of games they clearanced out. She calls over a guy I know that works there (the only cool person I know at that store) and asks him what this list is. He laughs & says "you mean the super secret clearance list?" She asks how everyone got it, and we both tell her that some BB employee somewhere put it on the internet. He is just amused by it, and laughs & walks off. She mutters under her breath "that's a shame." I speak up - "Well, if you're going to mark the stuff down, you had might as well let someone know about it." She doesn't say a word, just glares at me.

I swear, you would think they take the difference out of these people's pay checks. What do they care? I've gotten the same crap from some of the cashiers at this store over clearanced guides - they act like I'm robbing from them. Nevermind the fact that I've bought 2 TVs, a fridge, a stove, and god knows how many dvds/games/etc. over the past 3-4 years from that store. :roll:

If they were in the special little boxes (Christmas/gift packaging) they are recoded and are priced at 9.99.

Which one did you go to as the one in Blasdell had a some stuff. I was going to go to the BB on Niagara Falls Blvd but figured it was quite a drive and there may be nothing. The Gallaria location the same thing.

2 guys in front of me got around 6 copies of GTA for the PSP, when they got to check out. they were denied. the game rang up for $20 and they were saying it was suppose to be $2. They just left. I was laughing the whole time.
 
Do your best buys keep the 360 games out in the open. Mine are in a cage..and the best thing to do is just look in the cage to see what they have...mine had College Hoops 2k6 l3333t!!

Just got back from the BB in Leesburg, VA. There was nothing, and the guy I asked (who was monitoring the door) said the clearance was "just a rumor" and didn't really exist.

I think I'm going to call the store and talk to the manager about this one. If they were out of games because the employees bought them all, just say they were all out. Don't lie to me.
 
I picked up pursuit force for psp for 9.99.

Not much else in 3 jacksonville, Fl locations.

One of the BB employees said that the sale actually started yesterday that BB goes Sunday to Sunday.
 
Guess I won't attempt a visit to the UNION, NJ one based on previous members information on. Hell guess I never even had a chance being I can only make it there after work :(

Anyone know if the ISLEN/WOODBRIDGE, NJ or the NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ ones are even worth a trip later on today?
 
Reporting from the snowy mess of Ames IA. About a week ago I went to our local BB and I saw dozens of games that I wanted to get and that, eventually, were on the price-drop list posted here. And this morning I was certain that I would be able to at least grab 8 games. When I got there a little before 10:00 a.m. there were about three guys waiting outside for the same thing. I went directly to the PS2 section and all the titles I saw a week earlier were gone. Jak 3, Sly 3, Ratchet and Clank, Psychonouts, etc. Needless to say, I'm pretty certain we had hoarding going over the weekend so they could price match today.

However, our local BB had a few titles marked down and I grabbed the following:

Gran Turismo 3 = $4.99
Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus = $4.99
Jak II = $4.99
Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution $1.99

There are copies left of these titles in case any central Iowa CAGs want to make the treacherous journey to the Ames BB. Also, I did see a copy of Quake 4 for the 360 for $9.99 and a few GC titles. Another person that went in with me had about 6 games on hand.
 
I was there with my daughter trying to scoop some info because they took practically your whole basket. Who said they can have a secret employee sale and hide all the goods. First off that same girl told me there was no such sale but then when she confirmed that something rang up at 2 bucks I knew it was staged that everything was gone. First off one of the stooges had to go look at CAG to try to learn more info and then they went crazy rescanning everything in the department and pulling anything they could find. How does it make sense to have a game sit there overpriced and not selling when there will be so much new great product for the big consoles coming out where they can actually turn a profit. That flea market guy is cool he is not like those overzealous hot wheels guys that have to have everything for themselves to sell on ebay or something. Everyone wants a great deal and Best buy just showed how selfish they are by taking your products and not letting you buy them. I bet they wouldn't stop you from buying 4 overpriced plasma tvs because the limit is 2 per person. Lost even more respect for the company and also understand why there are so many haters for the company. Glad you got something though. Nada for me. I just wanted NHL 2k6, Moto GP and Dynasty warriors for XB360. If anyone who takes paypal can give me a fair offer I will love you for it. Thanks.

As someone who bought a couple games yesterday to price adjust today, that would be false.

Well, according to the BB in Amherst, NY, those of you posting success stories in this thread are all a bunch of dirty liars. After not finding anything on my list, I asked a salesweasel where the clearance bin was and was smugly told "There is no clearance sale, it's just an internet rumor."

He then tried unsuccessfully to sell me oceanfront property in Arizona.

Seriously, if they had nothing to begin with then they should just say so. It's a lot more believable than saying it's all a sham when clearly some people are getting in on these deals.

I was the first of about 5 people at our store. I snagged Karaoke Revolution and Chi-bi Robo for the 'cube plus a couple filler PS2 games (Killer 7 and one of the Eye Toy games) so I'm happy. My total was $16+tax. They actually
had quite a few of the PS2 games on the list, and multiple copies of most games. None of the games were marked. Thanks!
