it's pretty hard to wavedash unintentionally, seeing as it requires you to jump and air dodge almost simultaneously.
as far as wall techs and tech rolls, there's several times i've teched accidentally and saved my own life. I'll admit that, but then there's also a lot of times (the sick ones actually) that i've done it on my own.
To answer the question I see coming, a wall or rolling tech is when you hit the wall/ground after being smashed into it/fall onto it and you press L or R to stop your momentum/pop back up on the ground (and/or roll away). This is similar (tech roll) to what you might have seen in any of the VS games (HCF+P) or SFA3 (by pressing 2 kicks while hitting the ground).
