I love Adore a lot, too. But at least on that album the percussion remained
interesting and an important drive in the songs. Listen to the drums on 'Widow Wake My Mind' and tell me they don't sound like a

ing freshman year highschool garage band. I'm hoping that in 44 songs they manage to build on what made SP so good to begin with. 90% of it was Billy's songwriting but his ego has hit a new level of artistic nonsense.
Not to mention... if they're continuing under the SP name, I don't see how they can play most of the old songs with that 19 year old kid playing drums. Listen to a song like United States or The Ever-Lasting Gaze and tell me that kid could do it justice.
Zeitgeist had a few hidden gems on it. The 'bonus' tracks in particular were quite good once you piece them into the album the way they should have been.
If you're fond of live SP (IE never commercially released, fan-made concerts from over 10 years ago), Javery, we should talk, I have quite a collection.
To me the best part about SP was the layered guitar work and the intense drumming interspersed with very melodic/airy sections of song. This is why I didn't care for Zeitgeist - it was mostly all heavy. This new work is interesting but different from what I'd consider SP. I think ultimately the break-up and layoff killed the band. It's never as good the second time around. If his solo albums and Zwan were all released as SP (so as if to appear like they've been continually active) I think people would have more of an open mind towards the new stuff.
If you are referring to the "American Gothic EP" as the bonus Zeitgeist tracks then I agree - those 4 songs are GREAT. I'm not sure how I feel about live SP though. I always thought of them more as a studio band - Corgan doesn't have the greatest voice live but there are some old acoustic recordings where he sounded great so I don't know. Either way I'm only interested in soundboard recordings - I don't have the patience for audience stuff no matter how good it may be. SP used to be one of my favorite bands but I haven't been into them lately which is unlike Pearl Jam, Nirvana and some other bands of that era that I continue to love to this day. It's probably that I think Corgan is a douche like how I can barely stand Metallica anymore because Lars is such a

ing tool.
