Any speculation of ANY type of price drop..? I really don't want a Micro. For February, I am going to get Final Fantasy VI and I really don't like playing on my DS for some reason. The game sticks out, and the other screen just being blank bothers me :(

The new brighter GBA SPs are awesome..but..at $80? yuck.

So can these be bought cheap anywhere?

Just a quick question...why don't you like the Micro's? I got one (I own an SP also) and I love it! It's so handy and neat.

I thought the sp2 was worth it when I bought it when they first came out (I owned a DS then too) and I thought it was totally worth it, way better to play GBA games on it over the DS. May as well pick it up as it probably won't go on sale anytime soon.

Well the Micro just seems a bit TOO tiny. If I saw a Micro for mad cheap..like $30 and under cheap..then I'll get one.

And Strdr4, thanks. But I'm not quite ready to buy one just YET :)
Yeah I got my Micro for $40 on BF. It's small but it's awesome!
does the micro have the bright screen like the SP2? or just the regular SP screen.

You can get the graphite colored one from buy.com for $66 shipped with the google checkout $20 off coupon. They had the blue one instock earlier today but it's OOS now. My guess is that's probably the cheapest you'll find it for now.

Micro actually has the nicest GBA screen of all.

The only reason to choose an SP over a Micro is link cable differences, but the pros of the Micro outweigh the SP's cons (No headphone jack on the SP? Come ON Nintendo, what kind of retarded move was that?)

The micro has a terrific bright screen, and the button layout is actually nicer (to me) than the SP's -- with buttons on each side of the screen, which can be more comfortable than the tight space the SP makes you use below its screen. That said, I find that the micro does not quite cut it for games that have a lot of text on the screen (then again, my eyes are probably older than yours). As bright and vivid as the micro's screen is, it is small. I love being able to stick the micro in a pocket, but unless you can find it for $40 or so, I'd say get the $66 SP2 at Buy.com (if I didn't already have an SP2, I'd be doing that right now myself). It's still pretty small, and the SP2 screen is big and bright.

I prefer the larger screen of the backlit SP over the Micro. They both have excellent screens though. Definitely get the backlit SP if you have old Gameboy/Gameboy Color games. The Buy.com deal sounds like the way to go, unless you don't mind waiting for the inevitable clearance sale. I'll probably pick up a second one when the price gets down under $40 or so.

I hate my Gameboy Micro. The screen is too small, I have to consciously make sure that my thumb doesn't block the speaker, it doesn't play GB/GBC games and the shoulder buttons feel awkward. If I hadn't gotten it as a gift I would have gotten rid of it a long time ago.
