So.... Any Diablo Players?

Wow, the servers are still up for it? I'm amazed that they would last much longer than the release of Diabo 2. Which brings up the obvious question, why no Diablo 2?

I'm teh poor! I found Diablo at Goodwill for 1.95, so I'm trying to get into it. Not many people still play, but I wish they would.
 
I tried to buy the first Diablo once. It was one dollar at a local book sale, and I picked it up and bought it. When I went home I opened it and found out that some demo disk was in it.
Not that I was ever going to play it anyway. I borrowed a friend's copy of D2 and I didn't like it.
 
I love D1 and D2 + LoD, they are really fun to play. But I don't play them anymore. What level and what character do you play Mr. Anderson?

Your so poor that you play $2 games but have internet?
 
d1 is def creepier and alot harder..i cudnt get past the 1st part with the giant skeleton that ran at the speed of freakin light and spawned new skels every 2 seconds..IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE!!

D2 was awesome, if not a tad bit repetitive? I still loved it though. Online play really helped keep it alive for all these years.

I played the crap outta Diablo 1 and 2!!! I'm going back now on my laptop and playing D2 all over again. Have no idea why, i have a ton of other games just begging to be played.

Look for me online. I use the same screen name everywhere I go (Xtreme331).
 
I used to play, but it's so unbelievably easy to cheat in that game, I gave up trying to find out who was legit and who wasn't.

For example, almost EVERYBODY has Demonspike Armor for a Warrior, or an Apoc. Staff for a Sorc. Apparently, it's possible to find both without cheating, and there's no absolute way to tell if it's real or not.

Mr. Anderson, you should get Diablo II. It's soooo much player-friendly.

Diablo was fun, but if you have played Diablo II: LOD I bet some of you people would be hooked ;) it's pretty fun.

I loved the original Diablo. It is a lot of fun, both offline and online. Too bad not many play it anymore. You should get the expansion for it also. I think it's five dollars at EB. It's pretty hard to find. It's called Hellfire. I'm not sure if it is an official expansion or not since Blizzard did not make it but Sierra. It basically lengthens the game some and is a pretty good story. Almost liked its story more then the regular Diable. Diablo 2, though, is where it's really at. They improved so much over the first one that it is not funny. Absolute perfection. So much fun. And LOD just makes it even better. Plus there are a ton of people playing it and a lot of them are good.
 
Diablo 2 is an amazing game. I highly recommend moving from D1 to D2 and the LoD expansion. D2 took it up a notch, then LoD added some splash to it. Then there was the 1.10 patch. Wow, that was like getting a whole new game for free. Talk about an upped difficulty. Wowie!
 
I liked Diablo II:LOD until the new 1.10 patch. Now it seems like everyone, their brother, their brother's step kid, and their mom has Breath of the Dying (Insanly powerful runeword that makes the shittiest weapons godly) and Enigma (an armor runeword that give ANY class the ability to teleport). This is highly annoying and takes away from the strategy and uniqueness of characters. There are a few proud Diablo players set on preserving player uniqueness (the same who make melee sorcs and non-wind druids) but they are few and far between. Also, the majority of everyone who plays D2 is either
A: An asshole B: A moocher who asks for free stuff
C:A PKer of low levels D: (Rarely) A person to quest and duel with

If you play for a while (few months) you'll quickly realize that most of the game's fun is had in finding new items to improve your character, and more importantly, dueling. The quest part gets boring after you beat it XXX times and without addable content there's really no point to it once you get your characters to your desired level.

All that said, I do enjoy playing D2 with my friends (non E-friends) who I know and trust and can beat up if they steal my drops :D. And dueling has kept me playing this game for 3 years.

OP, get D2, its much faster paced and is more user friendly as someone already said. Overall its just more fun.
 
aye, i once spent 9 whole hours at a pc place playing d2, no eating, no breaks, no nothing. that was pretty much my life for a good year and a half, then i got a hold to Warcraft III..

long story short, i'm not playing nothing but World of Warcraft.
 
Yeah, I liked the 1.09 patch for Diablo II. It was great. Now the 1.10 patch ruined it, espically since ladder characters go to regular ones after every ladder season. Now that sucks IMO because you work hard to start over, when it ends up putting you to the beginning. It's fun but gets old fast.
 
D2 was good...too good. So good that it ruined my social life during the end of my high school years.

After graduating and finally uninstalling D2, I dare not to touch it ever again...
 
i was a d2 addict back in hs sophomore year, by addict i mean no social life what so ever. i'd spend lunch times reading d2 strategy guides and whatever else i could find on it. it had to b THE most craziest game i have ever played.

after about a year, and having made over $300 by selling virtual items for real money blizzard deleeted my accnt. i was so pissed but it was almost a blessing in disguise. i decided to quit instead of restarting, junior year i was back to normal, got my social life back.....untill a little later when i again started playing d2 (its like a drug, it just keeps calling u back) half way thru junior year but it didnt get bad this time, i actually managed my time and didnt go crazy again. now i play d2 maybe like once a week, this new 1.1 patch sux ass. all the items in the game arent worth shit now, its only the runes that matter. and i never really played d2 for the gameplay anyway, it was the trading where it was at.
 
Hah, Diablo 2 IS a drug. You try quitting but cant. It's like smoking its very hard to quit. I finally quit after 3 years of that game. I just decided one day to give up and give my stuff to my friends.

Same here, but substitute high school for first semester or so of college. I finally got myself to stop playing and I mailed the discs away to a friend.
 
D1 was harder, retrieving your corpse to get the items back was a nightmare. I got a lvl 41-43 warriors for D1 a few years ago. It was fun. Mr. Anderson, may be could play together sometimes if I have some time in my Winter break. I can't wait for D3.

Yes D2 was like a drug for me. I think it took me 4 years to quit this game. I think I had play D1 + D2 + D2LoD for a total of maybe 6 years?

I hate PKers and moochers. I'm a regualr quest loving player. I don't mooch or anthing. I used to be in a clan, but we had to kick one member out cause he betrayed up. So we killed him, res'd him, and killed him again. We kept repeating this process. He deserved it.
