I bought an xbox 360 from Kmart a while back, and still haven't opened it due to the fact I needed to raise some cash to actually pay for it (charged it on my cc). I was originally going to sell it, but since I got the Kmart "special" deal core system, I'm now faced with the dillema of whether I would rather just keep it to play. Overall, are the games really that good (I like FPS's by the way), or should I just sell it off for a profit? Keep in mind I will make a profit due to Kmart.:) Thanks for your opinions in advance.
What was the Kmart deal?
A bunch of people ordered Cores and ended up getting premiums for the Core price.
well be ready to charge another 99 bucks to your CC for the hard drive.
Had you read my post, you would know that he has a premium, not a core.

No, see he got a Premium (hdd included) for a core price.

I say keep it. A couple good games now, more to come relatively soon.

Agreed. Right now you've got Call of Duty 2, PD0 (for online play), DoA4, and Project Gotham 3 (plus a bunch of other very decent games but these are the big ones). Coming in March you've got Battlefield 2 360, Burnout Revenge 360, and Elder Scrolls IV.

That and the fact that you won't be able to beat the deal you got until there's a price drop which will be almost a year away.

If you were gonig to sell it, you should've sold it when even the core system was fetching 200+ retail. It's a hard decision now...

its your call. it doesn't sound like you're really that excited to play the 360 though. so if you need the cash, go ahead and get your 100 bucks profit. then you could buy a used one once all the douche bags start trading them in for ps3's.

Yeah, that's the main thing I was debating was the deal I got on it. I planned to get one eventually, but since it doesn't have any "uber" games to play right now, I thought maybe it would be better to sell it for a small profit. I also should mention that I sold off most of my vid game stuff, so the only system I really have left to play is my dreamcast.:) Is battlefield 2 going to be like call of duty?

Well, if Burnout Revenge 360 is your thing, its now official: http://www.gamespot.com/news/6143464.html

As far as Battlefield 2, its like all the other battlefield games and Star Wars Battlefront. Massive 20+ players FPS battles. There's an offline mode too but the online is what the game thrives on.

Really? Battlefield 2 sounds like my kind of game, I thoroughly enjoyed halo 2 when there were large matches. Although Burnout is fun, not really my thing. I'm assuming you guys have 360's. You guys are making a case for me cracking the seal, but I guess I should have expected that in the xbox 360 forum and all.:)

I'd say keep it, you aren't going to see a price like that for a Premium in a loooong time. The only game I have is Call of Duty 2 right now, and I freakin' love it. Xbox Live is also incredible on the 360, get a Gold subscription if you can. Also, the ability to download demos off of Xbox Live really gives this system some legs.

If you like the massive battles that can take place in Halo 2 then you will love Battlefield 2.

and if you'd look at our post times you might think that i could have been posting while you were posting.

jes' sayin.

I agree with other posters who say you don't sound excited about it, so sell it. Also if you can't afford to keep it, sell it off.

Get Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter over Battlefield. If you wanna see what I mean, rent Summit Strike and join me on Live.

If Advanced Warfighter does turn out right it'll be reason enough to open up your system.

I think this is pretty easy. If you want the XBOX 360, open it. You aren't going to make a big profit now anyway. If you don't want the XBOX 360, sell it and get whatever you get. You've pretty much missed out on the ebay rush for 360s, so if you do want the system there's not much point to selling it. And you aren't going to "make a profit" off the Kmart deal if you plan to buy the XBOX 360 again in the future, as if you do buy it a second time in the future you will essentially lose the money you saved from the kmart deal by buying the XBOX 360 for the full price the second time around. i.e. if you got a premium through a glitch for $300 and sell it for $400 now, then in the future buy a premium at normal price for $400, you have made no net profit.

And it is an awesome system, btw. Perfect Dark Zero, Project Gotham Racing 3, Kameo, and Call of Duty 2 are all fantastic games. Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and Gears of War are coming up as well and those also both look awesome.

Hellz yeah!! Bonuses like this are the only reason I bought a memory card.

On topic: If you are goiong to get one in the future just keep this one. Like many have said, whatever profit you make now you will spend and then some getting one later. I got a "Kmart Special" myself and I am loving it!!! You could beat this deal, but that would be borderline or just plain illegal, but that's unlikey . So I say keep it if you want it or sell to someone you know who does for $400. There you get a profit and can make a friend happy.

Yes, that is definetly a very kick ass bonus.

Short answer sell it for $500.

I agree with the people that say you don't seem to excited about it, and sell it. If you can sell it for over 500 hypothetically you'll be half way to buying one when you like the games that are out, and won't have to worry about cc interest. Also you will have a chance to get a better 360 as the manufacturer learns to produce a better quality product (i.e. all the wrinkles getting smoothed out).

I am also a huge FPS fan, and CoD2 is probably the best WW2 game I've ever played. PDZ is OK - more fun if you have a buddy to play co-op with on LIVE. And Condemned is an awesome game, though more first person action than shooting. In the very near future we get Ghost Recon, which is looking awesome, Timeshift, and Battlefield 2. And hopefully this summer we'll get a couple of incredible looking shooters with Prey and Gears of War.

Hell, it's worth keeping for $300 for XBL Arcade alone...
