I know the reviews are good, and I know a lot of people here like it (although apparently ever so slightly less than the original). Still, I just snagged it for 19.99, although I'll have to wait a couple days before I'm home and can pop it in to play, so I'm really curious as to how you all like it. Thanks!

PS, I wouldn't mind your opinion on the following conundrum: Which of these two is more worth buying - Castlevania DS or Kirby Canvas Curse

I only just started playing last night but I think it's really fun. The battle system (if you havn't played the first one) is similar to Paper Mario which was one of my fav rpgs. The story while not FF calibur it's funny and is enough to keep you going through the game. Great pick up for $20.

As far as Castlevania or Kirby Canvas Curse they are two different games. It really depends if you want to play with your stylus or not. Kirby is a great stylus only game, and really does show you that the touch screen is not a gimmick. However Castlevania is a great game, one of the best in the series IMO. Can't go wrong with both, but I own Castlevania (Have yet to pick up Kirby).

Mario & Lugi is superior on DS (I loved this game). I did recommanded you pickup both Castlevania & Kirby cuz both game have different unique & gameplayed. :)

PS. I still didn't beat Castlevania thou...its little touch for meeh :(

I know they're different kinds of games...but I AM leaning towards a game that really uses the touch screen uniquely and in a fun way, so I may just go with Kirby before I go with Castlevania...then again...castlevania games tend to sell out and become rare a lot more frequently than a game like Kirby, so...decisions decisions...

For some reason I hated the GBA version but am willing to try out the DS version of Mario and Luigi. The story was hilarious but the gameplay seemed so linear and enemy battles seemed pointless. Also get Castlevania DS you won't regret it.

I'm contemplating buying Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time from Best Buy for $20 (w/coupon) before it's goes up 5 dollars next week.

I, too, just started playing last night and I'm only a couple hours into it. But I'm liking it so far. The interactivity during battles is kicked up a notch, and the Bros. Attacks are better than in the original.

Yea, my bro owns superstar saga, so I figured it wouldnt hurt if I "found" a copy online to try out, and some parts really had me chuckling...I'm not the biggest fan of the visuals, but the game is really charming.

I have both. Kirby is good, but Castlevania is by far the better game. Although you should really get Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney before either of those games if you don't already have it. ;)

Best Buy has it for $30 and if you pick up one of the free Xbox360 promotional DVDs, it has coupons. One of the coupons is $10 off any video game $29.99 or over.

My local Best Buy has about 30 of these promotional DVDs just sitting by the xbox games.

I've only played a little bit of it so far, and I am really enjoying it. Never played the first game for the GBA. Love all the Luigi jokes.

I think I'm liking this one better than the original M&L. Don't get me wrong, I loved the first one, but the added babies and crazy two-screen stuff is a lot of fun.

As for your other question...I liked Castlevania DS better than even Symphony of the Night, so it's damn good. And yet, Canvas Curse is gameplay I'd never seen before...so I'd say it depends entirely on how you're feeling. If you want a guaranteed great, albeit safe, choice, go with Castlevania. If you want a game that does something new, go with Kirby.

I have not played Kirby, but Castlevania is awsome tons of replay value with many different game types and soul/weapons to find and unlock. Advance Wars and Castlevania are the best DS games IMO!!!

The first game was a lot funnier in general, and the story was a lot better, but this game definitly kicks Superstar Saga's ass in terms of gameplay and dungeons. Bros Attacks are just awesome, and I love how the damage you do is directly proportional to how skilled you are.

On one of the final bosses, I did 1236 damage in one Copy Flower ^^;.

There truly are some badass Bros Items that'll do major damage to anything. Mix Flower is quickly becoming a favorite.

...story? Both games' "story" was an excuse to make sweet jokes and get to the next segment of gameplay. But yeah, gameplay is better in this one...

It seems to me that the first one's jokes revolved around either Luigi being unknown (which was hilarious) and/or Luigi being unlucky. In this one, it seems only to be jokes about how unlucky he is...which is done very well, made me laugh a few times, but deep down I like the other jokes better...if only because I've grown up with Luigi always being in the background, and Nintendo's self-referential humor always made me smile.

This game just had me in a screamfest. I'm on the last boss(es) and they have you go too long without an opportunity to save. I lost the battle so I just lost the past hour and a half. Typical RGP bullshittery.

I played a while last night...I love the character animation...they're really smooth and elaborate for this genre...

Its had me smiling a lot, but the only chuckles came from Baby Bowser. M&L:SS had a few more laughs to start ("...the koopa cruiser...we'd almost finished paying it off...") but I'm really starting to like the complexity of the four player gameplay and I think I'll enjoy all the puzzles, as opposed to some games where I just get frustrated...its really well done.

Also, the Bros. items rock.

Can't wait to run into the hammer broz tho...I've seen screens of some of their dialogue and they were frickin hilarious.

DELTREETED

Kind of dissapointed by the length though. THat whole "20+" hour stuff seemed believable, but my clock, at the save after the final boss, says 13:40 ;_;.

Yeah, my problem was that I blew my wad on the first form, the first time I tried it, and then I had nothing left when the REALLY hard part came. Played more strategically the second time and it was significantly easier. Still, I hate dying at the end of a lenghty fight and wasting so much of my time.

I didn't die on the hard fight, but I did run out of items so I shut it off and restarted. I could dodge the attacks all day long, but basically as soon as I got rid of every other distraction and attacked the core, they'd all come back after I did like...40 damage ;_;. I went into the final series of fights with like, seven mix flowers, as I realized how good they were as soon as I got them, and used them to win easy fights really quickly. Speed pants + mix flower = fights over ASAP xD.

I had high speed anyway so I always went first in any battle, and Mario had the pants that give you unlimited Bros Items until he gets damaged. I just used Mix Flower for every battle and won them all in one hit, and the quantity never decreased. Kind of a shame, actually, because I'm sure there's a lot of enemy attacks that I never saw.

Please, please...the spoilers are so hard to avoid!!! Luckily I just cross my eyes when im about to read something spoilish, but any change we could black text/black background those spoiler parts so you have to highlight them to read them?

Please? Although I read "died" and "hard fight" and it made me happy the game won't be as easy as some of the reviews had suggested.

It IS really easy. The last two fights are the only challenging ones in the entire game, unfortunately.

Since Vegan was who I was talking to, and he read 'em, I'll just delete mine :).

I saved my beans and got the unlimited attack items badge. It made me worry less on the number of items I had.
I clocked in at 26 hours. I must really suck. The final fight didn't take that long. I'd say about an hour. Really great game.

My RPGs usually clock in at longer than what they're supposed to. It doesn't mean you suck, in my case I'm just very thorough in exploration.

If you don't save and quit, that gets added to your game time also.
