Well, it was Germany... so it was worthy there.

I'm pretty sure the internet did all the hype for this one, not Nintendo.

hasnt nintendo always stated they were genna stay mum for a while until september? I can't see why people go overly excited for this convention. The best is always saved for GDC, E3, and TGS.

The reason is they won't be at TGS. So this was the last convention type thing they would be able to talk at before November. And I believe they said by September they would say something. But that could have meant August, beginning of September, end of September.

They said they'd reveal everything "no later then September" not in September.

Most people thought that Nintendo's key note was the last chance for a very public event that they personally didn't throw together. Seeing that invitations to an event in September started popping up after this debacle, it's pretty much assumed that we're getting the date and price then and there (though I wouldn't be surprised to see the console delayed until 07 the way Nintendo's kept it under wraps).

i never said they say somethingat E3, TGS, or GDC. I was just pointing out that leipzbig ro whatever its called never had any valid right for huge announcements. people have been just too hungry for news, so that' the most likely reason why everyone was expecting all the news in germany.

i also though nintendo said september was when they would say soemthing, not later than september (which translates to almos the same exact thing when you divulge the grammar).
