Yeah, and the 360 runs hot enough as it is. I don't have A/C here and if it's anything like last summer (which it will) my 360 won't have a prayer. What do you do or going to do to keep it cool? (besides the smart ass answer of getting a/c)
Thanks

I don't have a/c so whenever I played my 360 last summer I would point a rotating fan at it and let it blow directly torwards the system. I keep my 360 upright and it stayed cool to the touch even after long sessions on the hottest days. I did get several funny looks from guests but it made it through the summer only to die last weekend. :( I plan on moving soon but if i'm still here i'll be using the fan again when it gets hot.
Pointless question, but how can you guys stand not to have AC in the summer?
I wonder that myself. I'm very sensitive to temp fluxuations and for certain can't stand heat of any kind.

Don't know about the op but for me it's an acquired taste. Acquired because my apartment has just a small crappy wall unit a/c that doesn't really cool anything at all due to it's terrible layout in the room. I never even turned it on all of last summer. You learn fast to appreciate any moving air on a 90-100 degree day even if it's hot air being blown in your window from a box fan. I don't enertain much in the summer I always get to be the guest lol. :)

I don't even think you can buy Air Condition here.

no you

"Location: From inside the house!"

I've been worried about this too.

The 360 uses crappy non-leaded solder, which is very brittle when it gets hot.

Leaving it in a hot room, or running it in a hot room, is a sure-fire way of speeding up those 3 Red Lights of Death.

I'm considering moving my set-up into my basement, which is always nice and cool during the summer, unfortunately my basement floods at least a couple times every year.

How did you get unbanned? you must've paid off the mods...meh, you'll get rebanned soon enough. :)

back on topic-- I wouldn't worry about it OP as long as you have it in an open area. If you're worried, just get a normal table fan and put it right on the 360 to keep the air around it cool and circulating. that way you don't have to deal with that awful Nyko Intercooler.

Thank to all of you that supplied non-useless comments. I do have a small room fan I've been aiming at it but because the 360 is sealed none of the air gets in to it to help cool it. Is there a way to open up the 360 or expose more of the insides?? Even with it aiming at the 360 it still stays warm. As for the USB powered coollers I have a laptop one that won't do squat because it's too weak and I have one that's mounted on the end of a flexible rod but it won't work that much better.

A/c here used to not be important but these last few summers have proved other wise. I'd get a room a/c unit but theres no way to mount it to my window without compromising "security" of the house. A room a/c would work except for they are more expensive and it produces water every X hrs. I've heard the Nyko cooler is worthless and in some cases makes it hotter? I hate hot weather so for those that wonder how I live without A/c... well I don't. Work becomes that much more appealling that's for sure.
I love the heat, and wish it were in the 90s right now.
C'mon down to Arizona, you'll learn to hate the heat real quick. We're forecasted for our first 90 degree day of the year today.
intercooler, I use one on my system without any problems for almost a year. It'll be a year in June.
Without getting into details, let me just warn that the intercooler has been accused of being a potentialy dangerous product, the use of which may or may not void your warrantee.

Please go into details? Only because I'm in a similar spot to the OP... although my situation may not be so dire.

It's definitely Spring. The telltale signs were in the air.

- hillibillies sporting sleeveless shirts, check
- 16 year olds blaring hip-hop from their shitmobiles with the windows down, check
- a 3-block section of the neighborhood stinking something awful of lighter fluid from people who love to grill, yet don't seem to know about charcoal briquettes, check

Cue Biz Markie.

Oh hell yeah. Especially like mid July/August when it's a buck fifteen, 120.

I agree with the the people that said point a fan at it. Also remember to get it as low as possible. It's a couple degrees cooler at the floor compared the ceiling.

it sucks the power supply from ur 3630, and it can burn it and stuff, and microsoft prob wont have the heart to bail u out if it breaks.

I bought a Intercooler a couple weeks ago for $10 at Wallyworld. My 360 hasn't frooze up since. How would MS know your using one?
