Inquiring mind want to know.....what do you drive? Why did you pick it? If it's not the car you want, what would you rather have?

I drive a 2003 Honda Element. It fits my family perfectly and is a hoot to drive being a manual transmission, not to mention it gets about 28 miles to the gallon(a ton better than the Jeep Cherokee I had before it).

The vehicle I really want though would probably be a new Ford Focus ST(2012 model), but I'm really happy with my Honda.

How about you? What's in your driveway?

I've got a hand-me-down 1996 Blazer. It's nice because it handles like a beast in the snow and it can haul a ton of shit (which I do often), but it's a pain in the wallet at only 15mpg. Don't know what I would buy if I could afford another car, but my first car was really nice, so I might go for something similar. It was a 1993 Altima with a manual transmission. Fun to drive, 25mpg and it was fairly easy to work on (for a Japanese car). For the right price, I'd pick up another 90's Altima.

93 Grand Prix SE

I love it. Even though I take great care of it, it's getting pretty high up in the mileage so trying to decide if I should let it go.

An 07 Acura TL, been paid for for 2 years. I have no desire for another car, or another car payment. Picked it because I had an 00 TL and wanted to upgrade. Looking back, I should have kept the 00 and saved the money.

2003 PT Cruiser and a 1981 Yamaha Seca. Love them both and I recently moved about 2 miles away from my work so I don't think I'll be replacing either one any time soon.

2009 Ford Focus. My 2001 Malibu died, so I was forced into getting it. It was a rental with only 9k miles on it when I got it.

I wanted a fiesta, but it wasn't out yet when I bought the Focus in Feb. of '10 and couldn't wait. I thought about a Civic or a Prius.

It's nice to get around 33mpg.

2005 Chrysler 300 - I bought it used with 580 miles on it because the previous owner bought it to have a car while the fancy-shmancy all options included version was being delivered. So I bought a car that was brand new but since it had a title transfer involved couldn't legally be sold as new for 75% of original MSRP when the cars first came out (late 2004). Basically it's the only sedan that I fit in (plenty of headroom) and it had a nice stereo.
The damn thing has been cursed ever since I bought it! I've had at least one person per year hit me in a parking lot and I get stuck in 3" of snow while living in Minneapolis...
When I eventually replace it I'm looking at the Lincoln MKZ Hybrids, they're pretty nice and cost the same as the gas powered so it's really a no brainer. Either that or a small SUV like an Escape Hybrid by Ford or try and find a Hybrid Saturn VUE.

Also have a 2005 Yamaha Roadstar 1700cc which is a great bike for summer time. I lowered it about 4" so it looks more like a prostreet than an import HD Wannabe. I'm perfectly happy with the bike but would definitely get a Bourgette Python or an Afterlife by Jim Nasi if I won the lottery. Hell, maybe both

As a Ford/Lincoln sales rep, I can tell you that the Ford Escape is absolutely worthless if you're looking to save cash. Comparing apples to apples, it's approximately $6,000 more expensive to buy right out of the gate, since the Hybrids have absolutely zero incentives. We cringe when one comes on the lot because they typically sit forever.

Regarding the MKZ Hybrid, that car is incredible. The sticker price is identical and the fuel mileage is almost double. It's got a great ride, a fabulous interior and TONS of space. It beats the hell out of the Lexus HS250h in price, size and fuel economy.

It's a shame you live so damn far away or I'd show you one!

2004 Mazda 3 five door. Has just over 60,000 miles and has had 2 transmission replacements. I would have considered stepping up to a Mazda 5 now that my son is in double digits, but given the trouble with this car and the fact that the Mazdas are smiling now...I'll pass.

When this one finally dies, I'm looking at the Buick Regal, Ford Fusion and Nissan Altima.

2005 Tacoma - base model 4cyl auto - only 21k miles on it and it's paid off! We do a lot of home improvement and yard work and I love having it to haul stuff. I had a 97 Volvo 850 wagon (97 was the last year before it was sold to Ford I believe) and I hauled a lot of stuff in that thing too. 87 Volvo 240 sedan before that. Don't see myself ever getting another Volvo though - just don't know that they are what they use to be. I imagine I'll have the Tacoma for a long time to come.

1998 Mercedes C230. I still get 30 MPG highway and about 24MPG average. It runs great, has about 115K miles, but some of the electronics are starting to malfunction. I'll be selling it in a few months to pick up a new Ford Edge for my wife, and I'll be driving her 2003 Ford Focus.

1997 GMC Sierra Z71. Paid it off many years ago and have kept it really clean inside and out. I only drive around 9 miles round trip per day so I don't see myself getting anything new for a while. Sure filling it up hurts, but I only put gas in it once a month.

Used to have a 1995 Monte Carlo Z34 up until January of this year. Was a nice car, but it used to be my mom's (and I don't think she did much in the maintenance department). Gave me a lot of trouble until I finally dumped it off as I was tired of paying for repairs on it. When I got rid of it, the AC didn't work, needed new suspension and had an oil leak at the very least.

I now drive a 1999 Ford Explorer. It's ok and quite roomy but I'm not a fan of it since it sucks up gas like a mofo. Plus it doesn't have cruise control like my old car did (I do a lot of highway driving to and from work). I only ended up getting it since it only cost me $800 and was in pretty good condition. Plus living where the winter road crews are shit kind of makes a 4-wheel drive vehicle a necessity.

Didnt see any Mercedes on the board yet, so...

2008 Mercedes R-Class (R350) SUV Crossover

Its silver with 20" chrome wheels and black leather interior. It is primarily for work. ;)
2002 Dodge Ram. Just got it a week ago. I also have an 83 Camero and believe it or not, a DeLorean but it needs WORK.
I thought you drove a modified 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor ambulance.

2008 Chrysler Town and Country and I absolutely hate the damn thing. It has a frickin demon in the electrical system. Chrysler service people are absolutely useless I would love to drive that crappy soccer mom van off a cliff somewhere. Just an all around bad purchase.

My wife drives a 2006 Kia Spectra. I have no issue with that car it is pretty dependable.

LOL!

Believe it or not, I've been hunting for one here and there but with no luck. (On ones that seem salvagable and in my price range anyway)

2004/05 (half year model) ford 150 xlt super crew short bed 5.4 v8, and a 1972 mercury marquis brogham with a built up 429

2010 Nissan Versa - Primary car, not a high end car but really damn good gas mileage, and I drive a decent amount for work. I miss my clunkers though. So cheap and fun.

1990 Jeep Comanche - Not road worthy yet, project vehicle. I had one a while back but had to get rid of it. Got another one to fix up. Loved the way that truck could shit and get.

1989 Chevy Cavalier - not for road usage, right now I'm driving it around some dirt fields testing out some of the restructuring we have done to the car before I crash it into other people in July.

2000 Toyota Camry. It has less than 100k miles on it. I abhor driving mostly as is evidenced by the fact that my passenger side is beyond f*cked up.

2004 TSX, bought it used in 2005 with about 7k miles. I love the car and it's been pretty flawless so far, I hope to drive it for many years to come since it only has about 63k miles on it.

I never want to pay another car payment in my life, in my opinion car payments are one of the biggest drains on the average persons wealth and/or pursuit of wealth. Knowing what I know now, I probably would have purchased a cheaper car back then, but now that my car is paid off I will hopefully keep this car for years.

1998 Chevy Cavalier. Meh, it's sleek and gets the job done.

It's actually my first car ever, considering I'm 18 and got my license about 8 months ago. I'm kind of forced to love it, even though I do anyway. The damn thing only has a radio, though, so I'm going to buy a new stereo soon. They're not that expensive and I can stop trying to tinker with my stupid FM iPod transmitter.

Oh wow. Someone has a Dodge/Chrysler that's lasted more than a couple of years. Do you never drive it or do you just sink tons of money into it?

the 300 has been cursed, motor trend vehicle of the year? Yeah, design flaws out the ass. Tie-rods are guaranteed to fail within 4 years, interior rattles like hell, tranny has had slilppage since 20k miles and I get this ridiculous exhaust recycling issue about every 10k miles that needs to get checked at the dealer to the tune of $650 every time. It's pretty much a lemon that I can't get rid of because it still runs to a certain degree.

Then again, I bought it 12/2004 and just crossed 60k miles a few weeks ago, so I don't drive all that much.

1998 JEEP Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited Edition.
It was originally my mother's car, but when she passed away in 2002 I inherited it.

I absolutely LOVE it. It is ridiculously fast for an SUV, has all the bells and whistles (...for 1998), and is still in great shape.
Probably because I haven't hit 90K miles on it yet.

According to Wikipedia there were less than 15,000 of them produced?!
Who knows how accurate that number is though...

Used to drive this: (technically my mom's car, but she had a van)
PHTO0061.jpg

But then my brother in law wrecked it, and my mom's van is busted, so my mom got her a new car and I'm stuck with a 1979 Datsun pickup that doesn't run...

2008 Hyundai Accent. Regret getting it, because it's not worth the price. I wish I had just gone a couple grand more and got a better car.

I used to get 30+ mpg on it in Texas, but I'm lucky to get 19 mpg in SD on a normal week. It goes up to about 25 mpg when I drive more on the weekends for garage sales, so I know it's not a maintainence problem.

I didn't know you existed. I assumed all of the owners were people who were given them for one reason or another.

09 focus and 10 flex. Don't plan on getting another car for quite a while.
