so what exactly is this?

I've seen alot of these, Ya it is just some dude who played thru the entire game and recorded it. I've never seen them for PSOne games but I have seen them for alot of PS2 games, Like Final Fantasy X/X-2 and Xenosaga 1 & 2. Don't know if eBay can do much, he most likely bought them from one of the HK dealers and is just reselling them. I think it would just fall under the same area as the cheap HK box sets which eBay also sells.
 
just to think - when i recorded myself playing Zelda : A Link to the Past like 8 years ago straight thru without dying , i couldve made a killing on Ebay
 
It's just FMVs. It's not exactly him recording himself playing the game. He didn't even need to play it. He (or someone) just compiled all of the FMVs plus extras together. I used to bootleg software on eBay (yes, I know. I'm horrible) and I must say, the production values are very high on this if these are indeed homemade. Even if their professionally bootlegged, they're still nice. I put alot of effort into my products, but not as good as his:

Well it does say the running time is like 9 hours - theres not 9 hours worth of FMV if i remember correctly...

I just noticed that it also included boss battles. So, FMVs and boss battles.
 
I should record the best player in Smash Brothers Melee (Me of course) playing with Zelda/Shiek, Ganandorf, Fox, Ness, and Ice Climbers. I should actually, haha.

THANKS TO THIS THREAD I HAD A DREAM ABOUT PLAYING FINAL FANTASY AND GOING THROUGH BOSS BATTLES/INPORTANT PARTS AND NOT HAVING ANY SAVE POINTS, THEN WHAT I THOUGH IN MY DREAM HAD BEEN A FEW HOURS OF PLAYING AND ALMOST BEATING THE GAME MY FRIEND COMES INSIDE MY ROOM AND BOTHERS ME WHILE CHALLENGING A BOSS THEN I DIE, IF I RECALL I WAS IN A CAVE.

LOL... I got suckered into one of these before. A few years ago when I beat Final Fantasy X, that became my favorite game. I wanted to collect things that were related to Square or FF so I saw an auction that had a FFX DVD movie. I bought it for around 30 bucks and when I got it, the movie turned out to be some person playing through the boss battles and linking the FMVs sequentially. Although I got scammed, the quality of that DVD package was A+.
