Xevious

CAGiversary!
There has been various posts stating that the GGC card is good for games and accessory $19.99 and up.

But I keep finding cards that are for items $29.99 and up (I specifically buy Xbox cards).

Ten Dollars is a world of difference to a cheapass like myself. Am I missing something? Is there a specific card I should be looking for?

Thank you for your attention to this matter

Yes there is a different card, the thread here www.cheapassgamer.com/ggc explains all.
They used to be $19.99, Best Buy changed it to be $29.99 fairly recently.
BTW, that is not actually true, some Best Buy stores have new green 19.99 cards for 2005, some do not. But saying they changed them all is misleading to newer people.

My mistake. I thought they changed all of them. I haven't seen a new $19.99 one personally.

Is there something distinctive about the $19.99 card. How can I tell the difference between the $19.99 and the $29.99 card?

Good lord. I hate to rag on you xevious but there seems to be one of these every other week or so. Anyhoo, there is a a lime green GGC that is the same as last year's and expires on December 30, 2005 and work for games 19.99 and higher. Than there are also the console/EA exclusive cards that are for games 29.99 and higher that end in 2005. Some BBs have only the green one and some only the console specific cards and some have both. In shrike's gallery, he has a picture of what it looks like.
Yeah, the new 19.95 ones are actually kind of rare. I know they exist, yet I haven't seen them yet.
I only have two of tose lime green ones that I'm saving for a special occasion. They are very difficult to come by. Anytime I see them (if I see them) I snag it up.

Not anymore there isn't. I tried looking for it today, but it's not there. I'll try to get a pic.

I don't know why shrike took them out, but I threw them in my gallery.

Umm....were you being sarcastic here?

Xevious at the Emeryville BB there are tons of 2005 Green GGCs. They aren't in the video game section or by the checkout stands where they used to be, they're over in the CD section on this bottom row of all various gift cards. Hope that helps. I just picked up a few the other day.

My BB (danvers, ma) has the new system-specific cards (Xbox, Playstation), but they are still selling the GGC's that expired in 2004. I tried to use my coupon today and they would not honor it. Pretty aggravating since they are still selling the expired ones...

No sign of the new GGC's there yet.

My semi-local Best Buy in Cranberry, PA still has the green card, tons of them, apparently not too many cheapasses around here taking advantage of it. Anyways if anyone wants me to pick these up for them simply let me know, I'll be glad to get some and send them out for the cost of a stamp. I'll just keep the gift card and send you the cutouts of the coupons.

I still haven't seen the green $19.99 and up gift cards at a local BB yet, but I almost never buy games at BB so I really don't care all that much.

I just picked up a couple of the 5 off 19.99 green gift cards here in CT. I put a dollar in each gift card and hope to use em before the 12/31/05 expiration date.

Can I couple this GGC with my RewardsZone payback (I just joined Rewards Zone)

There is an official topic for the GGC, which was already posted on the first page. I am going to lock this up.
