Im so very torn about it, i just bought a slim and i do love it, but man the new models new screen has me intrigued.

Now can anyone verify if the screen is ALOT better than the slim screen? Someone had mentioned that its not truely that that much brighter than the slim, that the slim is actually a little brighter...can anyone verify?

Also...i have a phatty PSP, can someone that is knowledgable about running apps and reverting back to older firmware send me a PM for a few questions please, id appreciate it, thanks in advance!

eyah I have them side by side, the new screen is much better.

but you know, you have to realize that if it's unhackable for now, that will hurt it's value if you try to resell it plus it only comes bundled in an ugly silver color with crappy ratchet game as opposed to something like a ferrari red GOW bundle. .

I must be one of the few that like the silver, i think its pretty sharp lookin...my slim is silver, i like it.

But can you by chance take a pic of the two screens side by side by chance?

And again can anyone talk to me a bit in some PMs about resetting or lowering firmware for the original PSPs?

Wow those screenshots of Darth Vader and Metal Slug from that first link actually look worse on the 3000 than the 2000. I'd probably avoid that WIDE setting.

ya i agree, i'm content with my psp 2000 :)

i bought my psp 3k on wednesday cuz my psp phat broke. I dont waste money if my 3k broke in years well thats when im gonna upgrade lol not every year whe n a new model comes up.

I would hold off... It's just comming out that there is a bluting defect in the screen; could be hardware.

Do a google search for more info... I'd link but I'm on my iPhone.

It seems that the new PSP-3000 screen reveals more scan lines and jaggies from fast moving gameplays and video umds. There's less ghosting and blurring, though (when compared to older models). If you turn off the "Wide Color Space" option, it should be a little less noticeable. Sony still investigating on this anomally / defect and its pervasiveness. I'm also gonna wait a bit before I upgrade.

That really sucks to hear about the 3000 model. I've been holding off on the PSP (have everything else), but I was planning on buy one in a month. Instead of the easy choice of getting the new one, now I gotta decide and choose one or wait longer. I've been dying to play FFT and Jeanne D'arc on it.

I've noticed more obvious pixelation on the 3000 vs the 2000, I haven't noticed any interlacing issues yet though. From reading about people complaining about these two problems I think it's overly exaggerated.

2000 screens of Ratchet and Clank look blurrier hiding these two things.

Overall I like how the new screen looks and will only be annoyed at my purchase if they release a 4000 model in the near future.

I'm happy with my Red GOW 2000, I've been using it a lot recently and don't have any issues with the screen. Except for glare on sunny days and I believe the 3000 screen does somewhat address that.

Thats not enough for me to shell out for another PSP though.

I'd been on the fence about picking up a PSP, never owned one, so far I have been considering picking up the sliver daxter bundle or the silver rachet bundle. Only reason I would buy the daxter bundle is banking on, it will be cheaper in the future. I guess I'll have to wait and see.
