This is either a cashier error or YMMV. I just got back. I tried probably 40 titles including SH 3 and some of the titles listed above. All rang up for regular price.

^^^ Exactly. I asked the cashier at my local CC to check a couple 9.99 games and they all rang up at 9.99. He said it could possibly be a cashier error.

Well, that does suck if it's a cashier error. $9.98 off of $9.99 is some of the best percent off yet.

(OT) Woo hoo, 300th post!

The cashier error could be a result of the current coupon that gives 10 bucks off any game. When the game is scanned, it prompts the CC employee to choose normal or promotional purchase. If the cashier selects promotional purchase, the game rings up at 1 cent.

I just bought about 10 pc games for 1cent each, here's what i did.

1)If u frequent CC i suggest going to a cashier that's 'cool'.

2)As the games were being scanned i told the cashier to press the "OPTION 2" button, after pressing that the games swithced from $9.99 to 1cent.

I would definetely reccomend the game break, i just played it for like 10 minutes & it's very similar to Arkonoid.

I just got back from CC in Modesto, CA not expecting to get in on this deal. I went to buy 'Missing, since January' for the PC, which is in this weeks ad for $9.99, regular price is $19.99. I went up to buy it, along with a Diet Coke and the total was $1.22. I did not have to ask her to press Option 2 or any other crap like that. She was a bit confused by the price, but I assured her that this was correct and they are trying to clearance some PC games out. She believed me and I walked out with 'Missing' and a Diet Coke for $1.22.

By the way, this game is really good so far. I would highlyrecommend it.

yes the game might be good, but was the coke worth $1.21

I just got back a few hours ago from my local Circuit City (Oklahoma City, OK). I had originally intended to go and pick up Missing and Political Machine for $10. Earlier today I read on the forums here about the .01 PC game deal and thought I would give it a shot. I was able to buy:
Command & Conquer Renegade
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2
Grand Prix 4 (2 copies)
Nascar Thunder 2004 (2 copies)
Monopoly Tycoon
Pac-Man Adventures In Time (2 copies)
All of them rang up .01, but the cashier said she had to type them in by hand or something like that, so that might explain why they are still scanning at regular price for some.

IMO, Coke sucks, Pepsi's better.

I have read on other forums that you may have to ask them if there is a promo on this or something, a simple price check may not work. Maybe its like the ToysRus thing where you have to ring it up not just do a price check.

Added YMMV to the title since this only works at some circuit cities. You definitely need to ring it up at the cashier to have a chance. Also, it might be a good idea to check the circuit city website to see some of the titles being sold for $9.99.

Guessed was IM'ing me from the store. He told me they had Thunder 04, Spongebob, and quite a few more. He also mentioned that he overheard employees talking about expansions to BF1942 and Medal of Honor that were also ringing up at a penny.

They would NOT let him buy any of them, though. He didn't even get Thunder and Spongebob. Guessed got SHUT DOWN~!

:(

Well I'll have to check this out, but my CCs tend to suck and have horrible employees that no nothing or that are greedy, can't say I wouldn't do it if i was in their predicament, but c'mon do it once the store is about to close or when there aren't customers in the store.

I just got back from my local CC, and I got "Silent Hill 3" and "Trivial Pursuit Unhinged" for $0.01 each. The gal ringing me up didn't question it, and said "Well! I had better go and stock up myself!" :D

EDIT: Went back and got "Break!" and "NASCAR Thunder 2004" for $0.01 each... I tried to also get "Harry Potter: World Quiddich Cup" and "Missing Since January", but they rang up as $9.99 each. :?

I saw this posted somewhere else and took a look today. I ended up getting seven or eight different games for $.01. The only game I bought that wasn't a penny was Missing Since January, which rang up as $10. I'll probably return it later.

I went to a different CC tonight, and they were doing it as a buy 1 get 1 free, so they would ring one as $10 (option 1) and one as .01 (option 2). Averaged out to $5 per game. Some of them are worth that, some aren't. They had also just marked down Warcraft III Exclusive Gift Set to $7.85 (includes warcraft 3, cinematics dvd, warcraft 2 battlenet, and official strategy guide).

I went to three different CCs. I got Silent Hill 3, that two pack of Atari/Intellivision, Capcom Arcade Hits Vol 1 (SF and SF2CE), and a Veggie Tales game.

Man I walked up to the counter with a ton of games.....and long story short they all came up full price. I believe he totalled them and everything, not just price scanned. Everyone around thought I was crazy with how many games I brought up, I thought I would really get them when the total came, guess the joke was on me. I babbled something and took them back. All were games on the list too like Silent Hill 3.

same here but i got yelled at my the midwest manager.

IM freaking sick of you people spreading rumors on the net about games being 1 cents do you really think we would sell games for 1 cent dude went on for around 2 mins before i walked away

man what a freaking cry baby lol

The crazy thing is, they actually are selling games for one cent. You have to ask the cashier if there is a promo for the games, and some of them end up being $10 off $9.99. The will ring up as full price, but after the discount they're $.01--the tricky part is convincing the employees and/or manager to let you take them.

any NY people check this deal out yet, im going tomorrow but if you went and know the if the deals a GO them contact me anyway you wish

OK, here's the deal with this promotion. I work for CC and this sale was only supposed to work w/the coupon from PC Gamer. However, a lot of people, myself included, weren't informed that a coupon was required so we were ringing up as many qualifying games that people could carry. I had 1 lady bring me 2 full baskets, go home then came back a couple of hours later for another basket. Anyway, those Mensa members at corporate finally realized what was going on and discontinued the promotion immediately. Personally, I liked it just for the fact that we unloaded a bunch of kiddie and ultra-budget crap that has sat there for a couple of years. Bottom line, the promotion is done. The only way it will work is with the PC Gamer coupon and they also made a point to say "no reproductions accepted". Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, everyone; but hey, it was fun while it lasted.
i have a printed coupon from the scanned image from you guys. does the printed coupon works
\

hey man ill take the coupon, ill find out if it works or not, I need it soon though.

damn! i guess i missed out on this...

and how does the coupon work? do you have to buy one $9.99 game, and get another for $.1? if anybody's got that coupon link, i'd appreciate it if they poseted it in here!
i have a printed coupon from the scanned image from you guys. does the printed coupon works
No, it doesn't. I tried it yesterday, but apparently the UPC code on the coupon is unique, and it can't be used more than once. Since the OP of the coupon already used it, you can't use it again.
I'm curious about the coupon, what issue of PC Gamer is it in?
Its in the October issue. With all the D&D stuff.

i tried the scanned coupon. the lady scanned the coupon but nothing comes up. she was like "whats going on?". she went to ask the manager, the manager saw the coupon, he said "we dont accept printed coupons". so its a no go
