CAGiversary!
The list is probably incomplete but this is all I have for now. I also don't know if these prices will be good online but they technically go into effect on Monday so it might be worth checking out.

Okay, I stopped by my local TRU and picked up in advance:

Tomb Raider Legend (Xbox)
Karaoke Revolution Party Bundle (Xbox)
Donkey Konga 2 (GCN)

I used $30 in gift cards there, too so after the price adjustment it'll only cost me $10 total instead of the charged $62. Nice! Thanks CAG! Merry Christmas!
A. What time do they open on tuesday?

B. Is Tomb Raider Legend worth 20 bucks?
a) website says 8 am

b) Definitely yes

Would TRU do price adjustment later if you pick them up now? How far back will they do a price adjustment for? 1 week? 2 weeks?

Will they make you return the games first and repurchase in the game department? Or just the receipt will do?
Would TRU do price adjustment later if you pick them up now? How far back will they do a price adjustment for? 1 week? 2 weeks?
Yes. They will give you a price adjustment guaranteed up to two weeks after you bought an item and TRU lowered the price on them. It doesn't matter if the games are opened or not either since you are not returning them.

Just to be safe, I would recommend NOT opening them, in case something goes shitty at your TRU and you need to return them.

Definitely. I'm keeping mine sealed until I'm 100% I can get the price adjustment.

There are six games I want in there, 6 amazing games for 60 dollars. Hopefully they wont sell out right away like at circuit city that one time.

QFT.

They are opening up that early? Well I guess that is a good thing for me, since I might end up working that day. With a lot of luck I could get in and out before 9:30. I just hope I can get a copy of Gunstar Super Heros. The rest of the games I can still find at my local EB/Gamestops at some other time.

Well, they will still be on holiday hours, which is 8 am... for all I know, they may even be opening early, I know Saturday they open at 7 am 0_0

Oh man, Steambot Chronicles and Advance Wars DS are friggin' MINE. I'd buy now, but I don't think I can get there before the 26th anyway.

Thanks Benboxer!

Are there any other TRU employees out there that can add to the list? I know as soon as I go and come back, someone else is going to add a bunch more games.

Do any of these games fetch a high trade value? Specifically the bad ones- there's no point in trading in good games. I flipped a few DBZ: Sagas last year and spared parents from buying that BS game for their kids.

For last years, I price matched. They gave me a hellofa time with it though. Grilling me on "How would you know these were on sale?" etc. bullshit. I just told em a friend emailed me some names, and they begrudgingly fixed the prices. I didn't open them just in case. Best to do that, to be safe.

LOL...but that's all the fun of it. It isn't a real sale unless you have to go back there three times in one day to pick up new stuff that you read about on here!

I didn't have any issues with doing price matches last year. Hopefully I'll have the same amount of luck with the deals this year.

Thanks again Ben.

To beat the rush on Dec. 26 and a possible out of stock, I went ahead and bought Rub Rabbits at full price.
They had 3 left. A cashier told me that I was the fifth person to buy this game today and that this game just sat on the shelf forever. CAG's everywhere!! I thought to myself.

I hope this thread is true as I plan on getting the price difference on Tuesday. :applause: :)

anyone know how long these are gonna stay at this price? I could be wrong, but a couple games from last years sale (RE4 on Gamecube for example) I think went back up to 15 or 20 eventually. Are these going to be permanent prices, or is it a week(ish) only sale? I would NOT recommend going in on the 26th. The return line will be insane.

Last year i was at the store at 8 and it wasnt a problem. Go early and you should be ok.

That was likely for the original package before it became a Player's Choice title.

It happens that way quite frequently.

You did not read the article in the begining of the post did you? Someone mentioned toys only matches its own ads and won't price adjust on it's clearence prices.

I'm going to do BOTH - ie, go in there tonight, probably, and get what I can. Then go to a different TRU on Tues and pick up whatever I might have missed. I know the GC section at one of the TRU's had about 10 games total when I was in there a few days ago, so supply is not looking good. They had more of the PS2 stuff though. I've never had a problem price matching or doing a return/rebuy at TRU - if they give me flack I'll just return, no biggie.

Here's what I'm eyeing:

DS
Castlevania DoS  (since I can't find one at Kmart for $9)
Deep Labyrinth

GC
Gun
Odama

PS2
Atelier Iris 2  (I was waiting for the inevitable $20 at GC on this one, but this is MUCH better)
Monster Rancher Evo
Ratchet and Clank (I assume this is Deadlocked??)
Steambot Chronicles  (same as AI 2)

What's with the $19.98 clearance on Driver Parallel Lines - what is that, a clearance of 1 penny? Isn't it $19.99 now, and much cheaper most places? (CC couldn't give these away at $8.96 in the summer, and still probably has them). Pretty lame price on Op Spy Toy too. I passed this up for $3 I think ;).

Anyway, some great prices on the some of the others. I wish Lost Magic was $9.98 though - would definitely go for it at that price. I'm not sure I want Deep Lab even at $9.98, but I'll probably pick it up anyway and think about it.

Would have snatched Ape Escape 3 at $9.98 for sure, but I just got one at Kmart for $4 ;).

Castlevania DoS
Resident Evil

Gradius Collection

Atelier Iris 2
Karaoke Rev Party
Samurai Champloo
Steambot Chronicles
Gallop Racer 06
Karaoke Rev Party Bundle

Battlefield 2

Quake 4
Tomb Raider Legend

Um, seriously, what are you talking about? Sure, one person said this, but my TRU person I spoke with told me something different. A lot of people in this thread are doing the exact same thing as me. What exactly are we doing wrong now? We're all trying to pre-buy games that will have a pretty much guaranteed price drop. And, TRU has in their own policy that they will credit people if an item they own drops lower in price up to 14 days after purchasing it. I even talked to a store person about this this afternoon. What's the problem?

At any rate, if TRU gives me a hassle about it, I'll simply return the games and get my money back. End of story.

I picked up Rub Rabbits during the TRU buy 2 get 1 free sale, so I don't regret paying that $20 for the game, but at $9.98, that's bitching. That game is fun + hilarity x 100

DEFINITELY picking up Tower and Metroid Pinball

Try kmart for pinball, its 3.50.

I went ahead and got a few games today, but my store didn't have too much.

I'm looking for:

Monster Rancher EVO
Samurai Champloo
Atelier Iris 2
Ys

I can probably get an extra copy of:

Ape Escape 3
WW Twisted
Resident Evil DS
Deep Labyrinth
Metal Gear Acid 2
Capcom Classic Remix
Steambot Chronicles
Metroid Pinball (already have this)

I picked up the last copy of Castlevania: DoS, Rub Rabbits, and Advance Wars DS.

I opened CDoS in the car cause it had that aftermarket shrinkwrap look (just in case it was empty, like the case with some EB/GS "new" purchases") and it was complete. Hopefully they'll pricematch it when the price officially drops even if it's open, or I'll just exchange the open CDoS with a sealed one, and perhaps return that copy, if it's possible (but unlikely, I think).

Oh well... wanted Atelier Iris 2 and Gradius Collection, found the empty caes, but they were sold out of AI2... did get Psychonauts and Gradius Collection, will try another TRU on my trip

i would never open my items. Last year we all though best buy was going to have a major sale and the prices wasnt right and many people returned alot of the games (alot of the 4.99 games ended up being 9.99 and some wasnt on the list i think)

hopefully all of these prices are right.

Meh. The only games that really peak my interest are Minish Cap and Warioware Twisted. The rest I either already have or just aren't that greal of a deal.
