Wshakspear or CoreyCubed or drfrielgood or someone else that has been a major contributor to the GameRush threads can make the next GameRush thread if the 500 post thing is still going on with the change of boards. You guys can still make a new thread if you want to, and lock this one up.

I'm not sure if I'll be on CAG much anymore. It's just not fun like it was a year ago. I might be here every once in awhile, but I think I'd rather do other things now. CAG isn't what I need to be doing. I should be working hard and focusing on what I need to do in my life.

I'll be sure to check this thread for GameRush deals when new ones start. Thanks for everybodys help in making these GameRush threads so popular. It made me feel like I was doing something to contribute to CAG. :)

i dont see any reason for them not to. i doubt they will even check to see if it turns on. but just wait until 3/22 because someone posted the trade in prices, and an xbox will get you 100 bucks, but right now its only 90

So Cockbuster corporate decided on getting the limited edition Doom 3 but not the L.E. Splinter Cell 3? Yeah, that makes alot of sense. Now I am going to have to wait until someone trades in one. BOLLOCKS!

And Ksuwild25, was that in the actual newspaper or was it an insert? Your Gamerush must be having a Grand Opening sale or something.

That would be awesome if they do take it, I will then only need $50 for a PSP.

Thankfully the employees there have no problem with double-dipping. All in all I have 8 games pre-ordered from the two deals and I still have $53 left in credit.

It was in the pile of the CC, BB, etc ads. Pretty much all of the Blockbusters have been GRs around here for a long time, and there was no mention of a grand opening. If you have ever seen Gamestop ads in the paper, this is what it looks like but with the Gamerush color and font.

Does anybody know if Blockbuster will be offering any kind of warranty with the psp? I have the credit to get one, but I don't want to pick one up without some kind of extended warranty.

All were bought at Kmart for $10 except for Sprung which was $15. It's only a small profit really but I can stack the deal at my GR so I ended up preordering Wipeout Pure for PSP and actually took home NFS for the PSP! They had PSP games on the shelf ready to go. I remember seeing Tony Hawk remix, Dynasty Warrior, Spiderman 2, Darkstalker, the NBA game and Gretzky.
 
Oh yeah forgot to say that GR is charging 49.99 for NFS so trading in and doubling up on their deals is really nice. Wipeout pure however is 39.99. Probably just the EA games that are more expensive.
 
gr said they do not offer extended warranties, i am thinking about getting my pre-order, selling it and then buying at a place where i can get an extended warranty

Well, I went again today. I tried to maximize my trading so I went to gamestop. They had the b2g1f going, so picked up 6 games. I paid 41 bucks for them. Here's the trade in with the 5 bucks at gamerush:

After all said and done, I paid 9.94 out of pocket. So, about 52 dollars for three pre-orders. Oh, I have 3 pre-orders I put in last week. Thanks CAG!!!!!!

Those deals I mentioned aren't in their system as of today. I went in and showed them the ad (no date is shown anywhere) and they had to manually give me $17 for the advertised sony memory card (was $8) and they had to readjust the prices of Halo 2 & GTA to $29.99. Tuesday seems to be the day for Gamerush, so I'm guessing it officially starts then.

The notebook the Gamerush employees have mention it, but it didn't state when it starts either. I think I heard the employee said the deals end March 31. Not positive on that though. Also two of the deals during the Doom 3 day are:

30% off the Guide w/purchase of Doom 3.
20% off xbox accessories.

I hope there is more than that, because neither really interest me.

Also I saw their new preorder list and saw that Socom 3 was on there along with a couple of other new games. A game that caught my attention was Quake 4 was on there. It was listed for Xbox & PS2, but I've read in magazines that it's slated for the next xbox/Pc. Can any Gamerush employees see if there are other next gen titles in the computer? Like Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion or Condemned? I would appreciate it, as I personally can't wait for the new systems.

I had to trade a few things even though I want to keep my game collection complete just so I could get some extra PSP games.

I wish I could double dip but it's a no go at the GR that I usually go to.

One thing that might be a heads up as far as trading goes though is that I've seen a few copies of Space Raiders (GC) used for $22.99. Using the trade scale for GR that would net a smooth $12 or $17 with the $5 bonus. The thing is that I recently picked up Space Raiders at EB for $7.49 using CAG15/Edge/Saver. An extra $10...pretty tempting!

im going to make a run at gamerush today.

ill go pick up wolfenstein, 007 agent under fire. and midnight club, and gt3, which will cost me 24 bucks. ill go to gamerush, and get 39 bucks, and preorder conker and pariah for about 20 bucks out of pocket. awesome deal

PSP UPDATE -

Once again, nothing has changed. Shipments should be arriving on Tuesday and my GameRush (Alpharetta, GA) still have permission from management to sell them as soon as they get here.

I hate to get my hopes up, but if nothing else, TimeSplitters: Future Perfect will be in, so it won't be a total waste.
 
Felder71, I want to get this right when you all receive the shipment Tuesday you can sell the PSP 2 days before lauch. If true I might just have to take some games to trade in to pick up a PSP on Tuesday here in the Detroit Area.

Just to make this clear, I'm not a GameRush employee. I just happen to be friends with all of the management there, in no small part because I'm there 3-4 times a week taking advantage of the deals. This is only what they've told me, and like I said, I'm not get my hopes up too much until it happens. I've heard other people say their GR won't sell until the 24th. It's possible the shipment arrives with a huge "DO NOT SELL BEFORE MARCH 24TH OR YOU WILL GET CASTRATED!!!" and then they have to hold it. But in conference calls they've had with headquarters, they have said it's okay to sell them when they get them in and the orders show the PSPs arriving tomorrow. I'll be sure to update everyone then.
 
Felder71, understand where your coming from. That's like how I am cool with the managers at my local EB because of how often I visit the mall that it is located in. So, I find out about deals and things before most people.
 
Here's a little tip on double-dipping.......try to go at times when the "game guy" isn't there. For instance, go really early or really late on a weekday, odds are that you'll get somebody who doesn't know about the game deals and will just do it cause they don't understand. All you gotta do is ask, right?
 
Ok just a heads up for those who wants a PSP and hasn't preordered from anywhere else yet. The Arcadia, CA GR said that they might open a little past the 12AM closing time for people who preordered the PSP to get their hands on the unit. While this hasn't been officially confirmed, the game master and an assistant manager told me they could do that. They also have 16 PSP on orders and only 8 ppl preordered from there (as of Sunday afternoon). So if you want to get down there and preorder one, ask to confirm if they'll open a few minutes pass 12AM for ppl who will be waiting for the PSP to go onsale.

Which is why I'm not getting my hopes up. The only thing is that they said they were told on a conference call with headquarters that they could sell them as soon as they get them. I'm not expecting it to happen, but their story has been the same for two weeks, so we'll see how it turns out. A couple more days won't kill me anyway.

Good info, and to my knowledge, the Arcadia store gets their shipments on Wednesdays.
 
does anyone know if gamerush will still let you get doom 3 LE for 30 bucks. i finally decided to preorder it. i know the last time they did the trade 3 get a game for 30 it worked. does it still?
 
Our store got the PSPs in today. We got 24 of them, though we had to transfer 8 to another store that didn't receive enough. The system is beautiful, though its incredibly easy to get fingerprints on it and I don't care much for joystick-thing. I played a couple matches of Darkstalkers Chronicles and the graphics were amazing. Our store in Commerce is staying open until 12:30 on Wednesday night for the PSP.

does anyone know if i can preorder doom 3:LE for 30 bucks? i know it depens on your CSR, but will it actually work if he tries it?
 
I would think you would. I did it when it was trade for 34.99. I also did the Jade Empire Limited Edition last weekend. So i would say you can do it.
