Someone must know: why won't uk webshops ship hardware to mainland Europe?

See subject. I reeeeaally want to buy a ps3 bundle from www.game.co.uk or www.gamestation.co.uk (why does the same shop have two different websites?????????), but no sireeee. Orders over 1kg cannot be shipped outside UK. WhY? Most other uk webshops does the same thing, some have other excuses though - but no explanations - its just - we don't ship "hardware" or "electronics" outside uk.

Why the f*** is it like this? And who bends these rules (amazon is too expensive)

Please enlighten me.
