Sometimes I think Sony hates itself

Sometimes I think Sony doesn't actually grasp their own business and maybe hates themselves.  I have redeemed reward points for four of these so far over the past year or so.  When trying to get a fifth one...

Why would they not want to "lock me in" to more purchases from themselves?  I cannot imagine the business driven decision behind this.

That does seem rather silly.

Using CC points to buy that right? Shouldnt care how many of them you buy.

We use a southwest CC to rack up free flights, would be like Southwest saying sorry, no more free flights this year.
