PS3 gets nothing extra, but that is fine. I figured I would make a thread since I haven't seen one for it. Although I haven't decided what system to get it for. Either 360 or PS3 for sure.

All credit goes to
SuperPhillip for the information.

IGN gave it a 8.0

Gamespot gave it a 8.0 as well.

Have any reviews shown up for this yet? I'm actually kind of interested in it since ModNation Racers isn't coming out until summer now. As long as it's a solid kart racer I'm probably going to pick it up. Lots of tracks and lots of racers sounds good to me.

The Wii version got an 8 from Nintendo Power. Of course, the Wii version of any game is usually very different than the other console versions.

There's a one player/track demo up on xbox live, and there should be one up on the PSN store tonight.
The two demos are slightly different (different stages), so download both if you have the two consoles. AI seems a bit aggressive, but it looks nice, and the sense of speed is definitely there.

I noticed that. I also noticed the PS3 demo plays better than the 360 one. Although I know both isn't the final product.

Yeah it did seem kind of tough, but I'm sure with a few more runthroughs it'll get better. I'm hoping the final product will let me change the controls though, because I don't love the way they're set up. Still, I'm going to buy it. It looks and runs great.

I enjoyed the demo. I got first with Sonic on Advanced and 1st with Eggman on Expert... though luck had to do with it I guess. This seems a lot like MKW... though the AI is not as rubber-bandy (you will stay in first as long as you don't crash into anything and have a good enough lead on the second place guy). Pleasently surprised with the game.

The demo is actually pretty good. Sonic, 5th was the best I could do. Eggman, I managed 2nd. However, I didn't like the fact that they only had one track available. They could have two.

I'll probably buy this someday. It looks great and I like the running commentary. However, if I'm going to buy a kart racer on Day 1, it remains ModNation Racers. It's a good game for the kids. I might buy the Wii version for my niece or nephew if it grades out better than Mario Kart Wii.

I wish I knew that there was a demo that was up a few days ago. I'll check out the demo tomorrow, because this game sounds really fun.

I changed my mind about getting it on Wii and decided to get it on PS3 since I already have Mario Kart and Excitebots on the Wii, but have no racers on the PS3 yet.

4th was my best. One of my races on my 3rd lap, I got a chaos emerald item, used that, got to first near the wood s curve before the drop to the finish area, got bombed, dropped to 7th :( That's rubberband ai for you. Needless to say, this still looks like a fun game to play and I might get it in the future.

I liked the demo but I might just buy it because Ryo Hazuki is in it (even though they jacked up his voice to make him sound like a little boy, lol).

this game has worse rubberband ai than mario kart wii. in the demo, id decrease my total time by a few seconds every time... and so did first place. the best i ever did racing was 3rd and thats cuz i got 2 eggman specials. that total race time was like 3:25 or something.

when i was sonic, i was in 4th place and got the chaos emerald and got to only 3rd cuz 1st and 2nd were so far up. 3rd was fairly close to me, so when the chaos emeralds finished doing there thing, i was in some snow and slowed down for a few seconds and 4th place goes whizzing by me! there is no way he caught up that freaking fast.

i could only imagine how much id get pummeled with shit if i was in first place. the original mario kart for snes had the best AI in any kart racer ever. if you were a good racer, you can win the match. 150cc, while challenging, wasnt smacking the hell out of you with stuff.

Grabbed the game yesterday and am having a blast! I was nervous about the rubberband AI, but if you look at "settings" there's an option to turn on/off "Catch-up". I turned it off as soon as I got the game and have been coming in first with no problems whatsoever. Add me as a friend cause I want to play!!

My niece and nephew really love this game. We played for about 2 hours and enjoyed the gameplay and the characters. My niece loves how cute some of the characters are and hated how the commentator trashed her performance. We'll be playing this for a long time or at least until ModNation Racers comes out.

I was pleased to find out that my Logitech USB controller worked for this game so 3 could play. It is a little tough to play in split-screen, the frame rate takes a hit but it's still playable. Glad I bought this!

this might make me play this then. hahaha.

SuperPhil, how did you get the trophy with no collisions? I've tried racing at the back of the pack and not touching anything, but no dice. Just when I think I've gotten it, I get hit by some racer or barely tap a wall. It's driving me insane!

My general feeling is that all these kart games have some serious rubberbanding AI. Whether Mario or Crash, I can't tell you how many times I would be in first place by a wide margin, then on the last track, I wipe out, and then I watch the rest of the field pass me in lightning speed. That's the stuff that results in joysticks being thrown at TVs.

Still, enjoying SASAR quite a bit, if only because of the sheer variety of characters and tracks.

I cant wait for this game to go on sale , or maybe even Target clearance . Just anywhere between 3-6 months , and this baby is MINE , ALL MINE

I'm waiting too. I'm going to rent it someday. I'm in no rush to play it. I would just buy it if I had the money. xD

The kart racing scene is getting pretty busy, what with ModNation Racers coming out in June (push-back is news to me).

For anyone trying to get the "Dreamarena" trophy, I'll be online at approx. 8:00 PM PST tonight. My PSN ID is squareislife so add me and LET'S DO THIS THING.
That trophy is still glitched, isn't it?
its not completely glitched, but for the majority, it has not popped up. there are people who have the plat in this game though.

Single player is good, and I haven't tried the online. The local multiplayer is a huge disappointment though. It feels like you're running on a threadmill...fast, fast, but going nowhere.

For now, you have to delete everyone on your friends list except the person you're getting the trophy with.

A fix is coming soon though.

Its 30 at amazon or was... Seems pretty dead online after I finally bought it. You can find a game but it takes while. I played with someone from my friends a long time ago and it didn't give me that trophy.

I rented this when it first came out. I bought it recently since it was 29.99 on Amazon. The online is still going strong. I figured it would be dead. Its as good as Mario Kart Wii.
