Sony Humor + T-Shirt = In-Game XMB?
Cross Media Bar.

Basically, it's the PS3 equivalent of a dashboard.
Ah...I've been away from PS3 news for a long while...so they canned "Home"?
I don't get it... sorry I haven't been using the PS3.
Sony is just poking fun at the fact that people want an in-game XMB, similar to what the 360 launched with.

Not at all. Two different entities.

Though, I wish they would put Home on the back burners until in-game XMB is implemented.
Ah...I've been away from PS3 news for a long while...so they canned "Home"?
The XMB is just the user interface of the PS3.

The old PSX (ps2+dvr in japan) had the original.
The PSP has one. And now PS3.

Also newer Sony TVs have an XMB as their menu. Mine does.
I'd wear one if it said "...and Warhawk still sucks" on the back .
That got a chuckle out of me, and I actually dig Warhawk.
I'd wear one if it said "...and Warhawk still sucks" on the back .
Warhawk is an awesome game; however, it's very tough to play if you are just jumping in now because of high skilled players and mostly people with Omega Dawn playing, which is why I mostly play with CAG. If you really dislike Warhawk (and bought the disc version), just get rid of it.

Jeff said about the shirts:
It’s us being cheeky. It’s a developer’s conference, not hardware or firmware, so no announcements on that front this week.
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008...ion-blogger-lounge-day-1-highlights/#comments

This could mean some type of firmware with access to XMB features is on the way in the near future, but probably not this week (like some think).

If anything, it does show that the Sony people know that gamers want in-game XMB and the various features that go with it (in-game messaging, custom sound tracks, cross game invites, etc...)

My main thing is in-game messaging and cross game invites. Would also be nice if you could send voice messages too.

Cross game invites, probably not, because many games now don't even support an invite system (so that doesn't technically make it possible). My crystal ball sees invites just working where you do have to switch games to accept manually (but that's okay IMO, I just want access to messages).

Voice messaging though, there's probably a higher probability I'll win the lottery than it being added (partially because PS3 supports any USB keyboard and I doubt Sony will want to pay for a server to hold the messages (if it was done like the 360)). ;)

Hey, how do you access the XMB during video, movie, dvd playback? I just got my ps3 recently and notice that I accidentally got the XMB to come up when watching a video on my PS3.

I wonder how XMB will work with customize music in games? I would love to remove all music from EA games and just play my own.

But you can do it when watching video from the HDD, listening to music, viewing photos, or surfing the web by pressing the PS Button.

I fully expect this and home to be implemented by the end of March...Considering the fact that I have waited 6 months for this, another 30 days shouldnt be that big of a deal.

Responding to the wrhawk comments, I have only had it for about a week and a half and I absolutely love it..Granted I did get pwned my first night of playing, but after that all is well. As a matter of fact, I dont think i have played COD4 since I got Warhawk..

Warhawk is on par with an early 2000's ,run of the mill, PC game .
The models are awful , the textures crap .
I am trying to like it but it's hard to do .

It reminds me of Wombat's shit shoes analogy .

[paraphrased]
"These are the best pair of shit shoes I've ever worn" says the person who has always been barefoot .

Sorry , I'm trying .

Sadly, that doesn't help much... I dunno, whatever I guess.

it's kinda cartoonish, and the control sucks for the little dude. not that you're supposed to spend a whole lot of time running around as the little guy, but still.

plus i needed to download the 1.2 patch before i could even play, and i don't know if it was my internet connection, my PS3, their download server or what, but it took me literally 6 tries to successfully download the patch.

then i got completely powned playing it the only time i played. i played maybe 2-3 games, and every time i'd get into the plane, all i'd see was MISSILE LOCKED!!! and i'd be dead 10 seconds later. not really a very fun time. i'll give it another chance, but my first impression of it was "what the hell is so great about this game?"

Even though I think Warhawk is a good game, I think it'll be quickly replaced by the next game that has a "battlefield" style large multiplayer mode. Right now, there's no such game of that type for the PS3 and Warhawk fills that niche.

I'm thinking maybe Haze could fill that niche until Resistance 2 comes out, assuming Haze has big maps where you can use air vehicles.
