I came across this promotion and it's apparently been confirmed as being nationwide from June 17 - July 8

This deal amounts to about $170 in savings. Nice deal for someone who needed some incentive.

As far as I know you can choose any 2 $59 games.

No, they didn't. Someone spouted something about them offering 5 blu-ray movies starting July 1st, and nothing ever came from that person again.

I love how the OP "found" this deal, after it was reported on FW, SD, and NG hours earlier.

depends on how much MS drops it. remember the original xbox dropped 33% just 6 months after it came out because of the PS2 price cut (which was also 33%)

It has nothing to do with this deal per se, it's an offer that's being run on a bunch of different Blu Ray players. The films looked pretty bad though. They're not giving away good stuff (looks like you're getting one of a few movies from five different studios).
 
Just confirmed with my nearest brick and mortar, and the deal is indeed: Buy a PS3 AND buy two games AND buy an extra controller, and THEN you get a $50 gift certificate. (Which you can immediately apply.)

The Blu-Ray movie offer, however, is true ( http://www.uwants.com/attachments/day_070627/20070627_640bc1b6bf658f8a400dCDKlYCq8WthG.jpg ), and if you're interested in THOSE, it would make for a better combined deal. (Have to hope the current B&M promotion lasts until 7/1, when the BR deal kicks in, though.)
