Sony PS3 Wireless Keypad $29.99

I don't really see the point of this, seeing as you can get a real, full-size keyboard for the same price or less.

In fact, I recently bought a nice, slim Microsoft Bluetooth keyboard for around the same price, and it works like a charm with the PS3. Plus, it serves double-duty as a functional keyboard for gaming on my HTPC.

I have the chat pad for 360 and it does come in handy for typing in DLC or Points codes or tossing out a quick chat message. It's nice to have that at your thumbs vs "moving" to use a full keyboard.

The plus sides of the 360 version is that it runs off the controller batteries and it backlit and the main reason I haven't bought the PS3 version is that the PS3 keypad uses it's own internal battery that you have to keep charged and is NOT backlit... lame.

I found it to be really useful when playing DC Universe Online.

I bought one awhile ago and have only used it like maybe 5 times. Keys are too small for me. The position also isn't really that great as you have to basically completely move your handle on the controller

Right now it just sits in a basket in my tv stand

Not shipped, and not shipped/sold by Amazon. That's still currently $29.99 as the threat title says.

haha, had to double check if this post was a year old or something. Figured this price or the $25 was MSRP by now, not $50! as kinney_bmx pointed out, this unit isn't that great. First off, its not backlit, so that is a huge PITA to see the keys if there aren't any lights on (tv glow barely helps, glare on keys almost make it worse) Second, almost 80% of the time I got to use it (only to enter PSN codes) it is usually dead..IDK, I still keep it on my controller at all times..

I've had this for 2 years now - bought it at BB when they had after Xmas sale for $35 in 2009.

:D - Comes in handy when playing online with people that don't have mic. Like someone else mentioned - easier to put in PSN codes. Keypad can turn into a virtual mousepad when surfing. Makes chatting on Playstation Home a breeze - haha:lol:.

Just get a USB keyboard (if you have one around the house, then even better to save 24.99+). Or spend about the same amount and get a bluetooth keyboard that can be used for other things. I just use a cheap older Microsoft USB keyboard and it works perfectly fine, and has a good 10 ft cord. If I didnt have the spare keyboard I would definitely go for a bluetooth one.
