Sony's $49.99 first party PS2 games

CAGiversary!
I've noticed recently that Sony is selling two of their first party games (GT4, God of War) for $49.99. Normally Sony's first party games have sold for $39.99, since Sony donsn't pay any royalty fees to themselves.

What do you think is going on? My feeling is that the abundant production costs of these titles are being passed along to the consumer.

They're charging $50 for them because people will pay $50 for them. Gran Turismo 3 was the best-selling PS2 game not called "Grand Theft Auto".

I noticed this awhile ago....when i paid 50$ for socom 2.

I dont mind em selling certain games for 50$ as long as they keep the smaller titles for cheaper...since i generally rather play a new Sly Cooper then a GT4
