I've got a a DS and, to be honest, I find some of the available games to be lacking. I'm not bashing here, I'm just waiting for something to grab me. Let me preface this by saying rpg/adventure stuff isn't my favorite but I'm open to new games. Right now I only have Big Brain and NSMB for DS and Sims 2 for GBA. NSMB is excellent. Big Brain has gotten old fast for me. I've had other games but I've traded them away due to lack of interest. I like sports, shooting, fighting, anything with superheros and platform stuff like Mario. I'm on the lookout for the FirePro Wrestling titles for GBA. They seem to get good marks. I'm also looking to get FIFA 06 for DS which also looks promising. Any suggestions would be appreciated especially for GBA titles.

thanks,

RC

Honestly sports games aren't that great on the ds, I never bother with them on the portables, there are quite a few cult hits that you might want to look into though, like phoenix wright ace attorney and trauma center, also if you're an importer go for Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! which is a japanese rhythm game for the ds, think sorta ddr for th ds, hope that helps

Do yourself a favor and avoid Marvel Nemesis for the DS. It's really...not good.

But I will second maigoyume's post above as far as Trauma Center. It's very challenging, but I love that game.

Aside from that, some of my favorites:

Trace Memory, kind of a point-and-click (or touch) puzzle solving game
Wario Ware Touched is fun as hell, very random and chaotic.
Mario Kart DS is also great, especially if you've got someone around for multiplayer.

I have to agree on Trauma Center, that game is awesome. But my personal favorite game on any system is Tony Hawk, and on ds its pretty awesome. not only is the game play good but you also have wi fi so multiplayer is available.

metroid prime: hunters is an excellent game, but only if you can play either with friends or online, because to be quite honest, the single player is overpoweringly repetitive.

with multiplayer however, MPH is a great game, and especially the controls are excellent. MPH is one of the few shooters which i can control as accurately as neccesary

Not to totally switch up this thread but what's the expected life span for the gba? What I mean is how long before games are no longer made for it? I enjoy my Micro's games better than the DS'. The DS obviously is a cool system and probably is the future for N's portable line but I am entertained more by my Micro.

thanks,

RC

RC[/quote] I would imagine this would probably be GBA's last productive year. I'm sure there will be a select few here and there up to summer of '07, but probably nothing that's considered a major release.

Looking at the future release list for GBA on ebgames.com, for example, it seems like most are all cross platform (ie, available on DS also). Or most are Disney/Nick Jr. games for kids. Very few are GBA only.

Anyway, nothing official's been announced yet. But with the popularity of the DS, and even the youngest of kids these days have one, I don't see the GBA platform holding out for much longer.
