Soul Calibur III (PS2) FOR $18.69 ON AMAZON!

I'll be damned, I saw it on Amazon for $35 earlier. I wonder if it's a price mistake again.

I certainly want the game, but I am not dying to have it. I think I am going to wait for a yr for it to go Greatest Hit and get it on sale. I am that cheap ass.

That's a really good price. However, my question is: it's $19.99 at TRU and I'm pretty sure it's on clearance. Would it be better to just wait for that to go down in price?

Regardless, thanks for this! :)
Could this be a sign of a universal price drop?
over 50% price drop? I doubt it, probably $30 by Thanksgiving and $20 by next yr 4th of July.
See my above post.
Cool thanks, I didn't see the post when I was writing my post. But BB and CC still have it for $40. I am not sure about the motive behind TRU clearance, but I can't find any in TRU.

EDIT: Shipping from Amazon Seller is ridiculous: $5.99 per item or lb and $1.99 per shipment.

Hm...in that case, maybe I should go get a copy if it's mislabeled.

ye i think that TRU clearance is over by now...i've looked everywhere in GA to find a TRU with SCIII for $20...couldn't find it..i just bought a used copy for $16.99 on AMAZON...but im pretty sure i can thank whoever lowered the game down to $18.69 for making someone selling the game used to lower they're price below that...if ya know what i mean o_O
You do realize that's from another seller right? Not Amazon itself.
from a new seller with 0 feedback no less.
Since i've seen about 50 copies of Soul Calibur 2 for $2 at Kmart, i think i can wait till this drops as well ;p
You and your Kmart....:)

I own both SC2 and SC3. Both are good games, but well SC3 is not worth full price, (I got it on launch weekend). The only real advancements are new fighters, create a character and chronicle of the sword mode. It is worth about $25 new well $30 with a GGC. Deffiently wait for a price drop on this game till it reaches $30 or even $20.

I hope this game goes GH soon, because I have been waiting forever for a price drop on this game.

Need at least 400,000 copies sold and 9 months in market to qualify as GH. Keep your fingers crossed.

I highly reccomend this game, especially if you were a fan of SCII. This one's very similar, but all the single-player modes are more enjoyable, and the custom creation is pretty fun, too.

I was able to pick it up along with Midnight club 3, for $21, via Hastings and Trade-a-game :D

I woulden't trust it with negative feedback.

However, the title of this topic made me go woah!!!

I've been avoiding buying SCIII after I found out it was a PS2 exclusive. I still want it, but I wasn't rushing out to buy it since the PS2 version was 480p instead of the 720p of SCII on the Xbox. ;)

Hope you don't mind me asking, what does 480p and 720p stand for?

P stands for progressive as opposed to interlaced, the number stands for the number of lines on your tv. Progressive draws all the lines at the same time on your screen, interlaced does half then the other half. P is better.
Also, the more lines the better - 720p is considered high definition.

i didn't know any xbox/gc/ps2 games had 720p support, but i also don't have a xbox.

I never knew what that ment either, thanks for sharing that pooky. :)

There's a glitch where this game will erase your memory card. I haven't had it happen but apaprently it's happened to other people. I think on the Japanese site there's a "workaround" that amounts to disabling auto-save/load and doing that stuff manually.

I think SC3 is a great game if you're not really competitive, otherwise SC2 blows it out of the water. Though both have glitches (VC vs. G2) if you're a casual player it won't matter and SC3 does have more modes and create a soul. I've had fun fighting against the likes of Marry Poppins and Inigo Montoya.

There are a handful of original Xbox games in 720p.. X-Men Legends (1 &2), Dragon's Lair 3D, Enter the Matrix, and a few sports games are the only ones that come to mind at the moment.

That sounds rather extreme...I guess that's the worst case scenario. At best, it just corrupts your SC3 data. For example, my Chronicle of the Sword data was corrupted, and since I didn't have a spare memory card, I had to trash all of my SC3 data and started over from scratch. Sucks, but I didn't really get far to begin with...on the plus side, it gave me a reason to actually play more. ^_^;;;;

I picked up my copy at TRU for $20, as well as the collector's edition of Tony Hawk's American Wasteland for the same price.

It will only corrupt your SC3 data, not the saves for other games on the same card, right?

For the most part, the rest of your memory card will be fine. There is a very small chance it may kill the entire card, but there seem to be very few of those incidents...it really only affects either your Chronicle data or your SC3 data...there are ways around it, fortunately; but I'm too lazy to go through all of that, especially since I just don't have a second memory card. :p

Got my info from the Wikipedia page.

Umm, no, I have SC III and an HDTV, I can guarantee you that like Gran Turismo 4 it is indeed 1080i [the info on my TV and the service menu both display 1080i when playing it in its wide screen progressive mode, it MIGHT be my TV upscaling but it reads the same on Gran Turismo 4] It might be upscaling but based on cut scenes, the graphics look just about the same, text reads just as clear.

And to anyone who is not getting Soul Calibur 3, or thinks 2 is better, I don't know what's wrong with you. Character creation and Chronicles of the Sword is enough to warrant the purchase, Plus the challenge levels are very fun, the new characters are quite well made, and the gameplay is more challenging..the AI isn't cheap..it just plays more like a good humant player half the time..it WILL make you better in the aracde, I know it from personal experience.

The AI IS cheap, no question about it.

But SC3 is not so bad that I am not getting it. The new characters are quite cool. Tira is classy as far as bipolar fighting game characters with unusually large breasts go. Character Creation is always overrated, but I'm not knocking it here more than general. It isn't good enough for me to hold my breath for, but it isn't bad enough for me to scorn.
