South Bend, IN Looking for smaller more intimate store.

Hey all. I was just wondering if anyone in the South Bend area knew of any smaller stores around town that I could purchase my games and stuff from? I have had one to many sour experiences with both Game Crazy and Game Stop. We, at one point, had a few but I moved down to Ft. Wayne and when I came back they all got bought out by Game Stop. I am sick of paying so much for "New" copies that have been opened and the disk removed so that when I buy it and take it home the disk is already scratched to hell and doesn't work but when I take it back they say I was negligent with the disk, point to all the scratches, and show me the door.

Thanks in advance!!

Hey -- there is at least one place I know of that's pretty cool. It's Michiana Used Music and Media right by Barnes & Noble on Grape. As you can tell from the name, they don't sell new games, but they do have a respectable collection of games from NES to PS3. They actually have a few NES games in boxes, which is sweet. I don't know how great their prices are... I think, like many places selling used items, they probably look to ebay first. That practice just kills any chance of ever finding a real gem of a deal, but that's another rant for another topic. Orbit music on McKinley also has a small collection of used games from all systems. If you're just looking for a locally-owned game store, though, I have yet to find it.

I can't say that I frequent it, but there is a smaller game store called Media Madhouse on old US 20 between SB & elkhart. Their prices are kind of on the high end, but definitely worth checking out.

Media Madhouse is pretty good for older games, but as far as newer stuff I've seen mostly just a few 360 games. They have good deals on DVDs though.

You might also want to check out Buyco. It's actually a few blocks down the road from Michiana Used Music and Media. I haven't been there in awhile, but I've gotten some good deals. The address is 3602 Grape Road. It's going to be in a little shopping plaza with a gas station in front.

I've shopped at all the used stores mentioned so far. From what I can remember everything I've gotten has always been in excellent shape with the original manual and case included. Just make sure you get the right disc. There has been a few times I've gotten home to find the wrong disc/format inside.

Oribitz music in the Town and Country shopping center sells quite a few old used games as well as cds and movies. Nice place if you can stand being silently judged for whatever you purchase.
