Space Rangers 2 goes on sale for around the same price fairly often, and I think it's pretty much the same, just newer and bigger. The Reboot edition of SR2 (includes upgrades) was just on sale at Get Games last weekend for $6.66, and it's also popped up on Impulse for $2-$4 several times.
Also just a reminder to everyone, even if GamersGate lists a game as being "DRM Free", you still have to deal with a custom download client with an online authorization check, and it encrypts the downloaded installer to make sure you always use the custom download client and go through the online authorization when reinstalling, even from a backup.
And if a game doesn't list what type of DRM is used, be warned Securom seems to be GamersGate's preferred protection method.
