Really 35, but you get a 10 dollar coupon code when you buy it, and it's only 35 the first week, as you would expect.

That sends you to a page with the deal info and a listing of all the ways to buy the movie (6 versions), including two that come with the first movie. what is this "super-bit" business. You mean to tell me that the regular copies of the movies arent in dolby 5.1 or DTS to begin with? And how does one improve on 480p DVD quality anyway. I'm comfused, I think it's all a marketing sham.

The gift set sounds pretty cool, though!
 
Superbit is encoded at an even higher quality, to the point where it basically fills up the disc. Also, i dont believe the reg. editions have DTS
 
Yeah, Superbit eliminates all the extras to make room for the best picture and sound quality possible, though, even if the regular versions aren't enhanced as well, there's no reason they can't clean them up to near-perfection, anyway. That's what DVDs are for, afterall.
 
but what makes the picture a higher "quality"? Is it the resolution? Cause there arent any retail DVD players I know of that source out anything better than 480p yet. (The ones that DO are just converting to higher res, not sourced at higher res)

I guess I don't understand how the picture can get any "better" than a standard digital transfer to DVD since the DVD format is only 480p.

I ALWAYS try to buy the SuperBit over the regular version. I could care less about extras half the time anyways....I just like the best picture and sound.

Is it possible to apply the code to the same purchase, or is it only applicable on a 2nd purchase? If so, the that kinda blows, I was hoping to get the Gift Set for about 26$ :whistle2:(

It sounds like the video is encoded at a highr bit rate which means less compression artifacts. You know DVDs encode video digitally, like MPEG files. Well, you can encode the same video at the same resolution at a higher bit rate, which means there's less of a difference between the uncompressed and compressed video, but the resulting file is larger.
 
I like to get Superbits whenever possible. The video doesn't make much of difference to me since I don't have an HDTV, but I've just got to have the DTS.

No, there is a SuperBit version of part 1 though, but it's not available as any SET yet....

Only get the Superbit if you have a GOOD TV and sound setup. I care-less about extras, so I usually get the SuperBit.
 
Thanks for the deal, those blasted Best Buy bucks that people and I myself got me really got me some good use, I got the gift set for like 14 bucks, now that 10 bucks becomes like 9 because I'll use in store pick up for the next order and save on my next movie, thanks again.
