Splinter Cell Conviction

What do you guys think about it. I am assuming that most people have seen the gameplay footage and have seen the different features it's currently sporting. Will the game have the
Co-Op so many people loved, or is it going to be a fully badass single player campian that doesnt need the co-op for the replyablity? This is shaping up to be a day one game for me (so far).

I think some heads must've rolled over at Ubi because that's a completely different game than what was teased in 07-08. To be honest, extended sequences of that "active stealth" thing likely played extremely boring - lugging boxes around and walking at the right pace to not arouse suspicion. It looks to me that the powers that be played it a stretch and just threw up their hands at how awful it was and decided to start from scratch. That's why we didn't get any news for the better part of a year. I liked the old games, partly because I'm the kind of slow meticulous gamer that really enjoys creeping around every single corner and killing every single goon in the level slowly (body count score be damned). Some of those new features look a bit gimmicky, but I could see it being really good.

To answer your other question though, I'm sure there'll be some form of co-op, although the story might prevent the co-op spy thing they had going previously. For me, I really only care about a solid single player experience so multi has never been a priority for me.

I hardly ever buy new games retail without some super sale or incentive going on (last one was RE5, then Ace Combat 6 before that), but this one looks to be a price-be-damned day 1 pickup for me.

This could be moved to the 360 forum unless it's a timed exclusive.

Not a xbox owner, but I saw the clip of this in the Microsoft press conference and it looked damn good.

So far it's still my game of the show. The delay went to incredible use to distinguish itself from Assassins Creed and to appeal to someone who was put-off by previous Splinter Cell entries (except for their multiplayer). I don't doubt that my laptop can run it, but I'd rather use the PS3 set-up so here's to hoping it's a six month timed exclusive.

It looks pretty bad ass to be honest, and I had almost no hope for it given the last SC and then the incredible delays and new vision for this one.

in my opinion conviction looks 100% EPIC!! i cant wait im a huge splinter cell fan and i like the fact that there changing style with this one. i think its gonna be sweet.

I am a huge fan of the Splinter Cell games and I must say, after seeing the gameplay from Conviction a few times I am getting really excited for this game. At first I wasn't exactly crazy about the faster pace of the game, but I really like the idea of Fisher being on a personal mission this time and having to go against 3rd Echelon. I also like how he looks to be much more brutal this time around.

I'm interested, but I've paid the price (literally) with buying Splinter Cell games anywhere near launch. I give it 3 months after launch and it'll be half price or less. I'll pick it up then.
