Not to be a prick but this isn't a deal. If Gamestop were like "Pre-Order Now and Get such n' such item or a gift card" then it would be a deal.
 
Yeah this aint a deal, its a rip. It looks more like a 10-20$ extra experiance AT MOST and they are prorboaly going to print a large amount. Buy the regular Spore unless you want to waste an EXTRA 30

eh let the mods move it then. i stuck it in deals b/c it's hard for me to tell what people think will be rare and true collector's items and therefore a "deal". you see preorders and "availability" (at full price) threads all the time in the VG deals section
 
I think I shall skip on this and just get the regular edition, I'm not $30 interested in knowing what happened behind the scenes. >.>

Yeah, it's kinda funny that way. The same people that are complaining wouldn't be if the special edition were for a game they wanted, or if the special edition included more.

Kinda like free demos. The God of War PSP demo thread found a nice home on this board, with no complaints, but other free demo threads would immediately fill up with bitching about it being on the wrong board.

But meh, this IS the internet. :p
 
Not a single in-game item? Oh well, guess this is another CE I'll pass on. Thankfully, WAR has learned that the best way to move CE's is to actually offer something useful.

A mail in demo is a deal though. This is just regular availabilty.
 
Making of Video might be cool to watch. Will Wright gives some decent interviews.
But I doubt it'd be worth $30. I might consider it if it was only $10 more.
 
Shit...that box looks gorgeous, with the cut-out and all. $70 and I'd preorder it right now...but $80, when the sexay Fallout 3 set is only $70 (on PC)? Can't really impulsively pull the trigger on that.
 
This is seriously overprice, maybe they should throw in some exclusive swag and a in game item or two then I might consider it.
