SSF4AE 19.99 at GS
SfxT is funny because it's the best fighter Capcom made this gen but it's been polluted by so many super terrible design choices that I can't blame anyone for hating it.
I completely agree. I don't regret buying it, because in concept it's one of the best crossovers ever, but Capcom really dropped the ball with the execution. Such a shame. Hope the rumored complete reworking of that game fixes everything bad, but that's just an unrealistic dream.
Arent they both the same exact game with only 4 new characters and small added features in the lobby?
Super Street Fighter IV was a better balanced game than Arcade Edition. AE2012, the free balance patch that recently came out, fixed just about everything that was wrong with AE. Lots of the top tier characters got nerfed and brought down to a legitimate level, and the rest of the cast got changes to them as well. Personally, I think AE2012 is on par with how greatly balanced Super Street Fighter IV was, and that's saying something.

I hadnt got this yet, so was looking for it since price seemed good, and rather have a disc than a download. Just a heads up, i called lot of local stores, and apparently its not in the system as new anymore, even though sight says 19.99 and locator works. It actually is being discontinued by gamestop as new and they moved them all to the used pricing. Was kinda sad that most employees never heard of it, only one did. Talk about knowing your product..........anyway, heads up, not going to find an "unopened" new copy for $20. Best its going to be is a unused gutted copy (still a pet peeve of mine with gamestop) werent they sued for that years ago? I dont get the gutting copies thing, shoplifting is a bullsh&t excuse. If they charged less than full retail i wouldnt have a problem for a display copy. its the pawnshop mentality.
I once asked for a new copy of a game, and they gave me a gutted copy, no book, and the disc had baby sized palm prints on the disc (wasnt scratched, but wtf), either employees are getting younger, or they taking new games home, to try. was like wtf?
QFT.

Just can't get into SFXTekken. It doesn't help that Capcom is still going to charge $20 for characters already on the disc.

I still play SSF4AE here and there and It's arguably the best fighting game this gen.
:applause:Until I play SFxT, I'm with you on that comment!

I'm glad Capcom got a hold of that ATROCIOUSSSSSS Tekken franchise:puke:!!!!!!!
SNES for me. But you probably grew up with the GENS version, being Mexican and all. :bouncy:
Wow Racist Much....?.
Which copy of SF4 is best? This one, the 3DS one, or one of the other 9001 ports of this thing?

Serious question, btw.
Arcade Edition on the PC is objectively the best one. For console, the 360 version of AE is the best one.

Not going to find as copy at all in my area. The one store that the site said had it didn't. No new or used copies close to me. Also other big box retail stores are out of it. I wonder if there isn't a new version coming down the pipe along with Anniversary Box Set in September.
I wonder if there isn't a new version coming down the pipe along with Anniversary Box Set in September.
It seems as though the team behind SF4 has since moved on to working on other games. At this point the most you can expect in the way of new content is a small patch focused on adjusting the game's balance released every year or so.

I don't think you need all those periods and a question mark. That doesn't seem like correct punctuation.

I am Mexican and can confirm what he said is true.

You shouldn't be so hasty as to appear so high and mighty when you don't know the facts.

He really is Mexican. Only a true Mexican can tell the difference between a taco from Taco Bell and an authentic Mexican made taco and he can do it.

Lobbies are great when playing with friends, and I've never had severe latency issues in AE outside of the occasional voice chat lag.

KoF is a wonderful game, but just completely unplayable online.

Oh, and for the record, anyone who prefers a Dorito shell taco over real food needs to seek professional help.

Super Smash Bros (original, melee, brawl) PAWNZ any Street Fighter (I, II, III,ultimate, extreme, extreme ultimate, ultimate extreme ultimate, the most extreme ultimate, no really this is the last version of this ultimate we are making, Syke! Ultimate.
LOL NOOBZ. Admit it, you only like SF cuz of Chun Li's BOObz and LEgz.

Do normal shell tacos count as real food? Because those are delicious. Eat some for lunch everyday.

BTW, KOF XIII is $30 at Amazon and is a better fighter in every way. Netcode is ass though.
Debatable. I like them about the same. The main problem I have with team fighters like MvC and KoF is that you're not really free to choose your team the way you want to. Some characters NEED meter and some are good at building it. It's more prevalent in MvC with assists and whatnot, but it's definitely a heavy factor in KoF too. Also, Street Fighter has a much sharper contrast in character diversity...

This is a great point. I don't play KOF, but in marvel there are certain teams that just don't work. That's why you see people using zero may cry or something similar. Have you tried skullgirls? You can choose 1-3 characters, and in addition to the preset assists you can create custom assists. This helps allow for more originality in combos and reset options.

Also, I can't believe the ignorance in this thread. Brawl>SF4 or mahvel? I put hundreds of hours into brawl but we're talking about two completely different types of games. Casual vs. competitive.

I'm sick of the omg Capcom ultimate this is it blah blah talk. For the hardcore audience (which is who these rebalances are for), getting a few new versions is expected. For games with extremely complicated systems it's impossible to tell balance issues from the get go. Hell look at UMvC3. It took months to discover the TAC infinites and the kubota escape. For the casual audience that just wants to mash buttons, you won't notice SSFIV vs. SSFIV:AE. For the hardcore audience it can completely change who and how you play (when they nerfed cammy's instant cannon strike and buffed up rose, I switched.)
No offense, but that Ken looked like his little sister was playing or something.
Kenya! Lol!

I have Skullgirls, I haven't gotten to give it any time though, yet :(. I absolutely adore the graphics in that game, though. They're beyond amazing.

I've only gone into training mode with Valentine. She seems really cool, and I like the variance in her syringe projectile.

I definitely will get around to giving it the time it deserves, but as of now I'm waiting for Persona, DoA5 and TTT2.

Skullgirls is a really awesome game. I hope that the community stays alive and hungry for it. There's a HUGE patch coming up with a ton of rebalancing so I'd wait for that before doing any hardcore training.

Not too interested in DoA5 here, but TTT2 and P4A look pretty dope.

It may look like it at first glance, but this guy was a tough aggressive bastard{look at his battle points}, I played with him 3 different games{won on all 3 }

Honestly, he played like ass. Like really, really, really bad. Naked jump into ultra? Constant jumping tetsus from full screen, backing away from you when he had you cornered, whiffing SRKs all day, wasting meter on full screen EX fireballs (with ken, really?). No cross-ups or mix-ups. He was just plain terrible.

I'm disappointed to hear that sfxtekken sucks. I was really excited about this game...N ever bothered upgrading from my super sf to AE. They took too much money from me already.
Oh and the best fighter of all time is capcom vs snk 2. I still rock it on my ps2 or dreamcast. I haven't gotten to try kof13 though. Really want that game.

You won't know you don't like SFxTekken until you try it. I think it's ridiculously flawed, but at its core sits a wonderful game marred with unnecessary features and battle mechanics. Fun for casual play. In fact, it's great for that.
this guy was a tough aggressive bastard{look at his battle points},
Yeah, he has 20k BP, but only 3k PP, which is what really fluctuates in consistent online play. That huge difference tells you all you need to know about him.

It's hard to say that SFxT sucks now. I love the concept, but the game was extremely flawed because of character imbalances, the gems, time outs happening extremely often, etc. The balance patch that dropped today could fix some of the issues, but only time will tell.

For the record, I want SFxT to be a great game.

If I had this game on PS3 I would be glad to wreck you.

I'm just being honest with you. The Ken was garbage. I told you why. I'm not gonna suck your dick for beating a terrible player.

Moving on, and on topic:

SSFIV: AE 2012 is worth $20 all day. It's got a fuck ton of content for those who haven't gotten into SFIV at all.

Buy this, buy KoF:XIII, buy MvC3, buy Mortal Kombat, buy Tekken, buy Skull Girls, buy SF:3 Online, buy Soul Calibur, buy DoA, buy BlazBlue, buy Persona, and most importantly, buy TMNT: Tournament Fighters for the SNES. Don't fucking buy SFxT.

Bye.

To Video-Gamer's credit, Mr--Glow-- seems more skilled based on some of his other matches posted on YouTube.

Man some of the old cags crawling out of the woodwork for this thread.

On a side note, SSFIVAE is a great deal for 20 bucks. I agree with those who say its one of the best fighters this gen. I personally am glad street fighter 4 was able to breathe new life into the fighting game scene.

"Man" - how about u stfu and suck on a camel's shlong?

Have both AE and SFxT and AE is leagues better but SFxT is a cool casual fighter. Nice to have when you just wanna play for fun with inexperienced players. And Video-gamer, you were decent based on the vid you posted but that Ken was horrid. Carry on.

AE is a cool casual fighter, but insanely annoying at high level. I'll take 100 rolento jabs over a single akuma vortex any day.

Stay as far away from the original Street Fighter as possible. ;) But if you absolutely must play it then it's also available on the second Capcom Classic Collection for the PS2 & original Xbox.

Also, any Turbografx fans should check out the rest of that guy's videos. He's been gradually working towards reviewing every single Turbografx game that made it to the US and does a pretty good job producing each video.
