This is the first time I'm posting a deal on CAG so hopefully it qualifies :)

Lifetime subs for Star Trek Online will be 20% off starting Jan 25th through Feb 4th in order to celebrate their 1 year anniversary of release. Originally $300 now $240.

I know many people either think that a) STO sucks or b) will be FTP soon following Cryptic's other MMO, CO. But if you have been contemplating a lifetime sub, seems like it would be a good opportunity.

Lord of the rings Online has been around since 07 and its had life time subs since the start I think. Plenty of stuff has life time subs and often they are worth it, I know my HD tivo life time sub should last me quite some time. An MMO can be sucessful and not have to be bigger then WoW. Just because there is coke and pepsi doesn't mean people don't buy 7up.

Not to bad talk Call of Duty compared to WoW, neither of which I have played for quite a while now, but comparing the "content" of Call of Duty to WoW seems kind of silly to me. Call of Duty is just PVP deathmatches over and over again, with incredibly high priced map packs which don't really add anything to the game. The changes year to year are not even significant ones.

And if you want to compare a price/hour rate I doubt any game is going to compare to something like Guild Wars as mentioned above, or really any single player game with a very long quest and high replayability that you enjoy. Anything with a monthly fee (ie WoW) or requiring you to re-purchase the new game every year (ie CoD) isn't going to beat that. I'm sure some people play Farmville a disgusting number of hours and isn't that free?

I keep going back to City of Heroes every time a new update hits. Wish I could have snagged a lifetime for that game. I've spent a ton on it. Even had two accounts for awhile.

To stay on topic, I have to say I enjoyed my brief time with STO. I'd never buy a lifetime for it - but if I goes free to play, I'd probably spend some time on it. I think I reached the 3rd tier of the Science Class.

since we're all all over the place...
I'm also chiming in for GW2. GW had superb value, I expect the same with GW2.
And better (mmo-style) PvP than anything we've been talking about that I've tried.
