All of that may be, but the bottom line is that EA is their own (& gamers') worst enemy. They screwed the pooch HARD with this game. It's mind-boggling how they could F-up the Star Wars license this badly. One thing we can definitely agree on is this is headed for $10 or less status soon-ish. Which, honestly, is where I planned to buy it all along after the loot-crate nonsense. I bought the 1st battlfront when the GOTY edition (or whatever it's called) hit $16 with GCU. And then ended up sinking anohter few bucks into the digital version when it went on sale for something like $6-$10 on XBL. So I'll be damned if I'm going to spend more than that on a sequel which so blatantly takes a dump on gamers' & tried to turn the game into a casino that preys on people's gambling predilections. Not only did they break it, but the changes to multiplayer are a step backwards, as it now takes far longer to unlock stuff with its linear approach. No matter how many times I explained how the game's star card system and level progression actually worked, people would stomp their feet and raise hell about "loot boxes." When in reality (short explanation) the random drops you got from them helped raise the star card levels of the things you didn't play while you collected crafting materials to obtain perks for the things you did, allowing you to not be handicapped from the start if you wanted to venture outside your comfort zone.
It's too bad I didn't try out the latest patch last week as the trade-in has now dipped on it.
This thing will be $10 by summer, especially now.
