Star Wars: Legos for PS2?

I think it's a waste, what is the point of making games like this where you use an amazing graphics engine deliberatley to make blocky looking characters. But then Viewtiful Joe also pissed the hell out of me.
 
I thought it looked like an awful gimmick at first, but once I saw some video of it....I think this might actually be good.

The game isn't trying to be something that it's not. It's a simple action game with an interesting mechanic. It's supposed to have good control, span all 3 prequel movies, give you a ton of characters to play as, it has vehicle sequences, and it throws in a little humor since it's a game based on a movie tie in of a kids toy. But, they know that and that's what I think will make it so charming.

I'm looking forward to it almost most than the straight up EP3 game.........but neither can touch Rep Commando. Believe that.
 
This is so original - I cant get it out of my head - and I dont even like star wars that much. Man they should do a lego game of everything - I want my Lego "Bad Boys 2"

It looks sweet, and like camoor said, they should do this with more games, and actually have this replace the terrible movie to game translations we always see. An RPG would rock too!
