Star Wars Trilogy 6 Disc DVD Set $25.99 shipped @ Amazon

The Blu-Rays won't be happening for a while. Lucas is waiting until they can prepare absolutely pristine, end of the line, archival-quality releases, and mountains of extra content, before he does a Blu-Ray release. He seems to have it in mind that Blu-Ray releases would be, like, the final, end-all be-all editions, which is fine, I suppose. At any rate, it'll be a while.
Lucas really needs to get the BD versions out. Like now.
Fat chance of that happening anytime soon. Him and Spielberg are pricks when it comes to putting their stuff out, they even halfass it on DVD. Of all those "legendary directors" (of which I think Lucas has no business belonging to) Scorcese is the best when it comes to Blu. Coppola is finally coming around too. But Lucas and Spielberg just don't give a shit.

CoffeeEdge, that makes sense for the original trilogy. But the prequel trilogy was all shot in digital. They basically have archival footage right there. I think he's just afraid to put them out without tinkering so the set looks better than WETA's LOTR on Blu. When those movies came out, Lucas got knocked down quite a few pegs in regards to "CGI king of the hill"

heh, yeah right

Price on this is good, but I'm waiting for a quality transfer of the OT without all the stupid changes. I'll probably have to wait for the blu-ray...

A year or so ago, I picked up both the Prequel and Original (same as shown on the link) for $35 total. Some site had a B1G1. This is a warm deal, but better will be had eventually. Not to mention its not bluray (as has already been established :)).

i have the original release, the one that came in the cool black/silver box with vader head on it. payed about 40$ when it came out. dunno if its the same release, but that was a very nice set. great visuals.
