Starts 10/20: RP 50% OFF All New Clearance games.

[quote name='gamer602']Games in the CLEARANCE bin will be discounted by 50%.

NOT VALID FOR GAMES IN THE VALUE BIN[/QUOTE]

The two bins at my store are kinda interchangeable; what's the difference between the two?

That's a pretty good deal, actually. A lot of the games in the clearance bin seem over priced anyways, but 50% off is nice.

As for the difference between CLEARANCE and VALUE: the clearance games will have a giant yellow sticker that says CLEARANCE on it. Value games will be in a bin, but will be marked with a red sticker instead.

I wish they'd bring 2 for $40 back :( I see their shelves are completely FULL of overpriced used titles that I used to be able to clear out for them.

100% agreed. Screw trade-ins.

[quote name='PuppetYuber']hey magiic, why does rogers video charge late fees on rental?[/QUOTE]

Rogers Video charges late fees on rentals because if they didn't then people would rent them and never bring them back - thus making it so the company wouldn't be able to rent the movie to someone else, in turn losing them money.

[quote name='arnoldrimmer']What are some of the good clearance games that Roger's has?[/QUOTE]

It varies store by store but my local one had some rockband trackpacks, a few GH PS2 games, one or two gamecube/xbox games and a few somewhat older current gen games. But it really depends on what they want to clear out and where you are.

BBV doesnt charge late fees, and doesnt require membership. If a rental is over certain over due by certain period of time, they will ask you to purchase it (like over 30 days or something).

Since I have moved to a new location, and Rogers Video Plus is just around the corner. I decided to sign up a new account with them, and start renting. I didn't know they had a late fee policy until today, got charged 6 dollars over 3 movies lol. (If I knew they had this policy, I would have returned them earlier of course.)

Not sure which BBV you go to, but the one's I've visited have a new system; $3.99 for a new release rental for 2 nights, or $5.99 for a new release rental for 5 nights. I'm not positive on the late charges, but they definitely do exist.

Rogers has a "no late fee" option for movie rentals. It's an extra dollar and lets you keep it for a week. If you return it after that there is a $1.75 restocking fee. As for games people don't return games as it is. If there were no late fees no one would return games.

As for this sale. Assuming stores are following procedure the value bin will be put back out on the wall and will be rebranded as a second clearance bin to avoid confusion. I spent 8 hours dealing with this today. Games included in the sale will be marked with a special "50% off lowest stickered price" tag under the normal price tag. Many games in the bin will likely still have their normal red price tags on them. This is all of course assuming stores follow procedure outlined for the sale.

I cant divulge anything beyond this for the sale. Hope that clears some stuff up.

My highlights include Chistmas presents for the kids, Excite Bots Trick Racing $24.99 and Boom Blox Bash Party $22.50 prices after discount. The cover art for the Boom Blox is so terrible I had to look at it 5 times to make sure I was buying the right game.

what should I expect in the way of PS2 accesories, I'm thinking about getting either a cheat disk with the space saver feature or another memory card.

I had gone to two locations, the first of which was still setting up the clearance bin, the second had a ton of games. I had seen many copies of Heavenly Sword in the clearance bin a week ago at this location and was disappointed to see that they were missing. However, I did manage to get these:

Zack and Wiki - $7.50
House of the Dead: Overkill - $15
Sacred 2: Fallen Angel - $30

Klonoa was $17.50, too bad I already got a copy.

Other games I saw:

Afro Samurai -$15
Viva Pinata: TiP - $15
Endwar
Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom
Tomb Raider: Underworld - $12.50?
Gears of War 2 Limited Edition - $30
Quantum of Solace
Folklore - $30

Thanks!

I picked up
Golden Axe 360 - $7.50
Afro Samurai 360 - $15.00
Brothers in Arms PS3 - 12.50
Metroid Prime Wii - $15.00

Those all qualified for Best Buys T4G2 promo

Just as a note, from the Rogers I've seen, a game isn't necessarily in clearance just because it's in the bin. Just bad merchandising really. Overall there is about 25-30 different 360 games that qualify, same with Wii, and only about 15 PS3.

[quote name='Tuffdog']what should I expect in the way of PS2 accesories, I'm thinking about getting either a cheat disk with the space saver feature or another memory card.[/QUOTE]

I saw a 2 pack of 1st party PS2 memory cards (red/blue) that was marked at $30, so $15 after the discount.

Anybody know what other accessories are part of the sale? The only ones I noticed today with the clearance stickers were PSP earphones w/remote and the PS3 memory card adapter.

I went into the Downtown Edmonton RP this afternoon but I had no idea what to look for. Couldn't find the "clearance" section (or at least couldn't differentiate it from the "value" section.) Didn't seem to be a lot worthwhile there anyway.

The copy I picked up was stickered at $29.99 despite scanning at $44.99: must've mistaken the eyesore for the first Boom Blox. Got it for $15. :)

Roger Video Plus on Stony Plain had good selection last week for the B1G1. There were a lot of good used games like final fantasy dissadia, batman, ghostbuster etc etc, but I was there yesterday, most of the good used games were gone for PS3. There are still plenty of XBOX 360 used games though.

In terms of the 50% clearance games, according to the list, there is afro samurai I saw xD

I wish magiic could give us a list that qualifies =(

Went over their and found absolutely nothing, they changed all the PS2 games to "value" games, even though they had counted for the 30% off sale and were in the bin the week earlier. The only thing of intrest was rockband track pack 1 at $10 but I could have just gone to the source instead, besides I only like 3-4 of the songs. I did notice a lot of PS3 games but very few 360 games because they were also in the value section.

Went to 4 different locations. From what I can remember:

[PS3] EndWar Limited Edition (one with the Bluetooth Headset) $25
[PS3] EndWar (game only) $15
[PS3] Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway $12.50
[PS3] Rockband $20
[PS3] Riddick $25
[PS3] Condemned 2 $10
[PS3] Tomb Raider Underworld $15
[PS3] Afro Samurai $15
[PS3] Singstar ABBA $15
[PS3] Heavenly Sword $30
[PS3] Bionic Commando $30
[PS3] Farcry 2 $15
[PS3] X-Men Origins: Wolverine $30

[PSP] Crazy Taxi $10

[Wii] Pikmin 15$
[Wii] House of the Dead: Overkill $15
[Wii] TONS of Shovelware :bomb:

[360] Golden Axe $7.50
[360] Lego Indiana Jones $10
[360] Sonic Unleashed $10
[360] Ninja Blade $22
[360] Tomb Raider Underworld $15
[360] Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway $15?
[360] Afro Samurai $15
[360] High School Musical (had some sort of dance mat included) $10
[360] EndWar (game only) $15
[360] Onechanbara $22?
[360] Bionic Commando $30
[360] Farcry 2 $15
[360] X-Men Origins: Wolverine $30

[GCN] Mario Superstar Baseball $2.50
[GCN] Killer 7 $2.50

[DS] Blue Dragon $17?

Various Rockband Track Packs for all systems $10

All Prices listed are AFTER the 50% off. Also, something to look out for: certain titles were priced completely different at some locations I went to (i.e. House of the Dead $15 at one location but $25 at another etc).

I'm pretty sure the Dual Shock 2 controllers are on sale for $19.99, less the 50%, so $10. It might just be the silver ones, but they're definitely on sale.

And damn... I wish I could find a copy of End War just for the blue tooth headset!

Man
i bought 4 games
Metroid 3
Major League Baseball 2k9
Quantum of Solace
Lair

i called best buy to see if i qualified and i was told to bring it in so they can scan them and see if it does. I thought they follow future shop TIVs
i dont want to open them and find out i cant trade them in?

anyone can help me out

Note that many games dropped in values today according to the RFD thread.

I would suggest calling another BB, they can certainly do it without having the game in their hands, they simply do not want to do it.

where do i see the rfd thread?
shoudl i go in with the game and the full packaging? and just see what they say?
i got so many dififerent stories
call back after 7
we cant do it over the phone

where is the RFD thread, i checked the TIVS.ca website and all my games are worth more then $9

Should i go in with the wrappers still on them? i dont want to take it off cause then my games cant go back cause they are opened?

I'm assuming you're intending to trade your games into Best Buy for their current promo? If so, and the games you're trading are from Rogers, I don't believe you can return them regardless, as your receipt will be marked final sale.

no i asked all the locations i went to
doesnt say aynthing about a final sale
said i could return as long as it unopened and has a reciept

Odd. I just checked 1 of the 3 receipts from Rogers and only 1 of them had the red Final Sale stamp on it.

Anyway, I would suggest leaving your sealed games in your car/bag/backpack whatever and head to BB. Once there, ask them for the values of your games. If everything works out, grab your games, unseal and then trade them.

Picked up Guitar Hero World Tour for the 360 today. It had dropped in price to 129 and then I got 50% off that.

Also my girlfriend bought 4 PS2 controllers, 2 wireless for 14 and 2 wired for 7.

Saw Singstar bundle with 2 mics 50% off. Also EA Sports Active. My location also restocked Infamous at $29.99 if anyone is looking for that still.
