The only other thing I have to add about Civ is don't fuck with Ghandi. He will drop nukes on your ass.

I'm not normally one for hardware talk, but after about 9 years of using my Razer Tarantula, the "A" key is starting to go out on me. Anyone have suggestions for mechanical keyboards? I'd prefer one that's around $60-$70, I don't need backlighting or a wristrest and would prefer to not buy an offbrand keyboard. I'm thinking of getting one with cherry brown switches, but having a hard time deciding on any yet.

Oh and if you see me typing like slidecage in the near future, you'll know why.

This is a cheap price for a full size mx brown keyboard. It's open box but as long as it works right?

As I sit here with my 970 and my Oculus Rift, I wonder what life will be like when I can finally add Civ VI to my Steam account next to other Civ games I haven't played.

CAG, feelin' good.
not sure how u feel but we will thank you for your sacrifice on that Civ VI copy.

That 2k humble bundle in 2018 can't come soon enough for us :D/

Civilization Revolution on console was actually decent.

An accessible and fun game for the newcomers of the genre...

Of course, the hardcore ppl will point you to the Civ PC version ... :whistle2:
I've haven't played any of the Civilization games yet.

I am looking forward to the new Civilization.

I've never heard anything really bad about any of the games yet.

I'd recommend the Cherry Mx Blue keyboards by monoprice (Or monoprice generally) but it doesn't seem they carry them anymore. :/ Stay away from their Gateron or other knock off switches though, didn't have a good feel or construction quality.

I'm not normally one for hardware talk,
Well you know I love hardware talk and all, but what I really want to know is what do you think of DRM? Also I need to get MysterD's opinion again. Plus the current price of Fallout 4 on Amazon right now and every 3 seconds for the next 3 days.

Hold the front page guys, Motoki's grumpy about something.

I've been playing Dragon's Dogma. It's badass. I wish I'd jumped on it earlier on when everybody got it cheap at launch (Funstock?). Ne'er mind, got it for a measly 27% off with a birthday voucher from GMG.

It's bloody marvellous. Great fun to play in a big, fat world killing big, fat monsties. Lots and lots of depth and I'm a big fan of the pawn system. I had Madjoki's fat ass helping me for a while, I chose not to hire zenii's bird as she was nude and I didn't like her boobs. I forget who else I've hired but it's cool seeing friends' characters in game.

One semi-complaint: I absolutely need a guide for it. Like, lots of it. It doesn't hold your hand at all, and it's only a couple of steps up from Dark Souls on the "we're gonna let you find out just how wrong this decision was"-ometer. It's not as punishing as DS is by any means, but it's still very easy to miscalculate something.

:whee:

Forget dat...When is Red Dead Redemption coming out on PC?
Yeah, I've been wanting to know that one for a long time. And still do.

$31.33 for FO4 PC retail box on Amazon.

EDIT 2:

Does anyone know how much VRAM I'll need to play a DRM-free copy of Final Fantasy X-2 REMASTERED EDITION?
Only on Steam right now. If you want it DRM-FREE, you might be waiting quite a bit. Square doesn't put a lot of their newer PC releases on GOG often.

Looks like minimum is 512 MB of VRAM for either NVidia 9600 or AMD 2600 XT - see system requirements on Steam page for FFX/X-2 HD Remaster:

Maybe I'm just forgetting because it's been a year since i played it, but I don't remember DD needing a guide at all. The game's combat can be somewhat difficult (my biggest complaint is just that the enemies appear to be absolute sponges), but I don't remember it being misleading or confusing at all in the way that (at least for the first Dark Souls, especially) you have no real idea what to do at any given time

anyone know how much that FF X/X2 remaster is going to be? i guess i can just wait the 6 hours and find out, but i'm a whiny little bitch.

I don't think anyone knows, but probably anywhere from $30-50. I think it's $50 for PS4 so I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up at that price. Highly doubt it'll be any lower than $30 msrp

I'm trying to avoid cherry blues, cuz I'd rather get one that makes less noise. I'll probably end up increasing my budget to $100

Ha, I was going to edit my post to state that. /buildapcsales is the shiznit. :D

Everyone recommending bad/cheapo keyboards
Well he did state $60 - $70. I have heard good things about the Cougar KB. It is quite impressive for the price. Lots of features you dont see in that price range.

Also the QuickFire XT (MX Brown) is $10 cheaper at newegg but that is with a rebate though.

I've missed five side-quests because I've advanced the story too far, and I didn't know about changing vocations to get multiple carry-over benefits until I read about it.

Yes, it's entirely possible to play without a guide. But I'd also be gimping myself by doing so.

I wouldn't say grumpy so much as snarky, or to put it in your people's terms, cheeky (which to 'Muricans means assless chaps). But seeing as it fits with my Big Fish Grandma GTFO my lawn you damned Call of Doody Kidz persona I'll take grumpy.

And I wouldn't say DD is hard so much as it doesn't make any attempt whatsoever to guide you to or keep you on task with anything remotely resembling a main quest. You just run around and do random shit. Once you let go of OMG GOALZ!! and embrace the random shit it's great.

Yeah I'd buy that if it wasn't refurbished. Newegg/Corsair both have it "new" with cherry browns for $100 but they're sold out

Dragon Dogs was good times.  My only regret is that I started a New Game+, then immediately went on to play something different instead so now my pawn is hanging around Pawn Limbo as some level 3 abomination instead of her previous glorious self.

Also, Bros played Depth last night which was another shark vs diver game like Shark Attack Deathmatch but with a lot more action, better (smaller) maps and a lot more stuff going on.  Both have been fun though Depth is clearly the better game.  However, its $25 MSRP is pretty high for what the game is and the $80 worth of cosmetic DLC on top of that was the subject of much ridicule.

I was terrible at any mode that didn't involve me cowering in a corner.  But I rocked the "cower in the corner" mode.

Stuff I played recently that I feel is worth mentioning, just in case you consider buying them now (yeah right!) or in the future when they're cheap.

Loved the original games and was a little skeptical with the art style in this one but it plays and feels great. I had a lot of fun playing the "Tour mode" with a friend. It has local and online co-op / multiplayer.

A pretty cool indie japanese beat 'em up. The gameplay is quite addictive even though the story sucks (although I don't get on with most anime storylines). The co-op is a bit of a let down because you can only do 1 mission at a time in and then the lobby closes. But unlocking characters and levelling up was fun and I found myself wanting to unlock all the game's secret. I even wrote a guide for it, here.

Loved it and if you enjoyed any of the other entries in the series, you should love this too. I'm really glad they made co-op really accessible as you can just set a password for you and your friends to use and if you overlevel, it will scale your character down when you join their world. If you've played Dark Souls then you already know what this is and I think this may even be my favourite game in the series...

If you're on my friends list and think the game is too hard, I can also try and carry you through it ;)

ARK is a good example of how you can be totally into a game, then something shakes it up a bit (dino nerf) so you take a break for a couple days and... months go by.  MMORPGs are the same way: you get invested and can't imagine ever not playing them until you take a break for "a few days" and don't look back.

That said, I'm curious since I'm sure there's a quadzillion new dinos and stuff since I last played.

Are you a master of running away in that game too?

The base perimeter is now entirely metal and protected by turrets. Theres also a metal bunker inside, to keep non-warrior dinos safe in case of war. The main HQ is glass-metal, a real beauty. There's also a metal fort a bit north and a new base by the frozen north (gilby).

Malkan and you should take a look Syntax. You won't feel the dino nerfing, is a lot more balanced now.

Oh. And Weiler plays there too. But that traitor is not on CAG tribe

Yeah, I should swing by and look.  Is my Bayou Shack still up?  I guess my poor gators starved to death.  Sucks to be them.

That reminds me of why else I left: an entire structure I had up north just up and disappeared.  It wasn't eaten by dinos because my scorpion was still there and someone attacking it would have set her off.  The game just poofed it with everything I had in there (which was a good bit of stuff).  A rare event, I'm sure, but with the nerf that same week it was all "Gonna do something else for a while, toodles..."

Even Bruticus who made the server and seemed to be the most gungho bailed. Ironically enough to an MMO, SWTOR.

He tried to recruit me too but I was like *mustnotgetsuckedbackin*mustnotgetsuckedbackin*

It's such a time sink, and I have my F2P Windows app store Dragon Breeding game taking up all my spare time right now.

Priorities!

Gilby is sick on the game. Your base is off the chain. Even your secondary base makes my main base look like a hovel. You are armed to the teeth for an invisible enemy as noone could hurt you for months. CDS tribe could maybe hurt you with sheer dino numbers but they dont play regular enough to be a credible threat.

Meanwhile here I am playing Dark Souls III. I got to the catacombs and I keep getting killed by bleed damage. Friggin' area is huge and I can't find a bonfire inside.

Meanwhile here I am playing THE COPY OF Dark Souls III THAT I GOT FOR $0.20. I got to the catacombs and I keep getting killed by bleed damage. Friggin' area is huge and I can't find a bonfire inside. BUT AT LEAST I ONLY SPENT $0.20 ON IT AMIRIT

Y U NO WEN 2?!?!
