Yesterday, briefly. It seems like it could be some fun with a group of people.
finally got around to playing goldeneye source & that game still makes me rage all these years later when someone headshots me with pp7 :D

hope they bring some controller support

y u waste ur time with sg giveaways
I don't know... Sometimes I win stuff, which is cool, but then sometimes I have to deal with stupid stuff, which isn't cool.

Weird, wasn't that a monthly bundle game? I would think that it would be a waste of time trying to do chargebacks to Humble given they probably would have a lot of experience dealing with such things (compared to doing a chargeback to get a Steam key straight from the Dev's site)
Yeah, it was around that time too. He gave away 5 copies of it too.

He actually did over 2000 giveaways on steamgifts over a few years, so I'm not sure what's going on.

The last and final dlc for those that play Fallout 4.

SOLD...especially since I already bought The Season Pass before the SP price-increase.

[shrug]

How come a lot of times, the DLC's/expansions for Bethesda games often have way more personality than a good majority of the base-games?

This has seemed like the case for:

Some of the Fallout 3 DLC's - i.e. The Pitt + Point Lookout;

Morrowind expansions - i.e. see Tribunal and Bloodmoon;

Oblivion expansion - i.e. Shivering Isles;

Skyrim DLC's - i.e. see Dragonborn + especially Dawnguard;

and now it looks like the case w/ Fallout 4 DLC's - i.e. with Nuka World; haven't touched Far Harbor yet, so can't speak on that.

It's easy as hell not to complain. Don't pay $60 and you won't need to bitch that you "had" to pay that much.
Easy, I didn't pay the $60 and I didn't play it at all. But saying people aren't entitle to complain about the product they bought is stupid.

Indie or not, people bought a product first. The fact if the game is "indie" or not does not give it a slap on the wrist.

Same with the countless other crappy indies that game out over the past few years.

With that being said, I know nothing about No Man's Sky and looked pretty fun from what I've seen and I'm willing to pick up on sale in the future.

Edit:

With Pre-Order dlc it's hard not to buy a game before waiting for reviews now a days.

Most of the time limited time dlc isn't sold till year or two later or never.

I don't think I've ever hated any Bethesda's/obsidian's dlc yet.

My favorite DLC ever were in NV, my favorite fallout 3 dlc was Point Lookout and Operation: Anchorage which I have to mention to everyone buying the game to MUST buy if they decide to skip the GOTY edition for whatever reason.

Just wondering if anyone has played and recommends Odallus: The Dark Call? I see it's on sale for $4.49 which is its lowest price ever, and as a classic Castlevania fan it seems like a no brainer.

I loved Old World Blues in NV. Obsidian did a great job with that one. The other content DLC's were quite good, also.

Sure but a lot of people aren't just happy with complaining. When people are threatening to end people's lives because those people have an opinion on a game or even ddos attacking sites to try and silence people it's a lot more serious of an issue. If people are this pissed they payed $60 day one for a game they knew next to nothing about then they only have themselves to blame for paying $60 on blind faith. Those people can also get refunds. That is an option. Also if people love the game as if it were the second coming of Jesus then why are they bothering even looking at other people's opinions. They should be too busy worshiping our lord and savior No Man's Sky to have enough time to even be able to look them up.

Well that's their fault for not researching the game before buying it.

The only complaints I've seen and heard so far is that the game crashes often on both the console and steam version.

I'm all for hearing people complain about the product they bought long as it does not turn violent.

I've haven't been following No Man's Sky launch, I just wait few months for games now to see if it was even worth buying in the first place.

But if No Man's Sky launch reaction was that bad then it would be awful to see if valve ever released a part 3 to any game.
Not like Valve makes games now anyway

Re: Conception II

It's a very mediocre game. Even as a huge fan of dungeon RPGs and animu games, it's barely worth 75% off.
I keep hearing this but I've haven't had any JRPGs to play on PC for awhile now.

If it's anything like Persona then I will enjoy it.

The reaction was insane before launch and continues to be so.

I only ever wanted a mediocre game at best to begin with so I will be happy whenever the hell I end up getting it.

Yessss, Odallus is one of the best Castlevania games I've played and it's kinda a metroidvania too. Game works great on snes controllers too.

It's by the Oniken dev which got bundled a million times, it might be a good game but I'll pass. I wouldn't be surprised if it's in the new Killer bundle

It seems that way because most of the "personality" typically comes from unique settings/enemies/etc that would seem an odd choice for bethesda to revolve a whole game around (shivering isles, theme park, vampires, etc). bethesda isn't particularly good at writing so in absence of the out there themes the games are somewhat uninteresting despite the immersive qualities of the world. also i would argue morrowind did fine in terms of personality. same with oblivion at times but i don't think it was always intentional (STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM, potato faces, etc).

also god the pitt was boring from what i remember

I haven't played No Man's Sky. The best I can say is that it seems overpriced for what it is, but in the end it all depends on how much enjoyment people get out of it.

I do find it a little interesting to see more gamers getting in an uproar about the reaction and death threats than they have when the same thing had been happening in gaming for years now.

I thought the Pitt had the best writing... as far as Bethesda writing goes.  Broken Steel and Point Lookout probably had the best 'content,' although I was kind of burned out on FO3 by the time I got to them.  Operation Anchorage was terrible.  It was like Call of Duty: Fallout.  Never played New Vegas DLC but from what I can tell Obsidian blew the doors off of Bethesda which isn't terribly surprising.

The Fallout 4 DLC seems even more underwhelming than FO3.  It's obvious they want to push the builder/settlement aspect of the game but it's too shallow for my tastes.  Overall it was a lazier effort compared to Skyrim (which wasn't exactly amazing itself).  I guess the hook with Nuka-World (other than walking around a theme park) is that you can be a raider and raid settlements you helped in the vanilla game.  But... why?  I imagine you do it for trivial 'tribute' like a few stimpacks or junk of whatever.  In order for this stuff to have been interesting Bethesda needed to spend a lot more time fleshing out the settlement aspect of the game.

Base Fallout 4 is still enjoyable from a Borderlands with less guns but better exploration standpoint.

Typically I don't mind paying near full-price at launch if I can get at least one long and memorable session out of the game in question, and No Man's Sky has already provided me with two great gaming sessions that were really fun and full of surprises. I don't get that from a lot of games anymore. Definitely happy with my purchase, but I also avoided pre-release videos, spoilers, and hype, so that might have something to do with it.

Also, I grew up playing this:

space_hawk.png

If nothing else, I am armed with the context and experience to understand how crazy it is that this game even exists. The fact that it is functional--and fun--is pretty much blowing out what little is left of my brains.

I hate that bethesda moved away from unique weapons/quest rewards in the direction of crafting in skyrim and random drops in fallout 4. the crafting and enchanting in skyrim nullified the usefulness of any quest reward in the game, and borderlands-lite is not why i want to play a bethesda game. im still clinging to the hope they turn around and start making quests that are as unique and interesting as some of the ones oblivion had to offer (say what you want about the game, but it had some great quests in it), but unfortunately bethesda seems to be pouring their energy into plopping poor mans versions of everything they can think of into their games (crafting! building stuff! random loot!) as opposed to focusing on why their games got popular to begin with. I really enjoyed FO4 overall, but it was also one of the most disappointing games i've played in awhile. By the time I was done I found myself craving FONV. I really hope they "regress" in FO5/ES6 but I have a feeling they're going to keep trying to make something "bigger and better" and continue their quest to throw every Hot New Thing into the next game. It'll probably have multiplayer and MOBA features and procedurally generated No Man's Sky dino-squirrel-bear animal abomination things thrown into it

I did some missions in GTA V today.  Really forgot what they were.  I was able to buy an assault rifle which made my mass shootings aboard the Los Santos metro system much easier.  Soon I can afford a sniper rifle which will make the hours I spend finding high rise perches and trying to shoot freeway drivers a lot easier.  Today I managed to murder 15 cops before they took me down on top of my favorite perch.  I also managed to fall off a crane and die with no cops involved.  So that just goes to show you how effective the cops are.

Never Alone still out of stock at Tremor. If anyone manages to catch it, can you grab me a copy too? I'll pay you back the 99 coins.

For reasons I can't explain I'm tempted to buy one of those colorful mechanical clicky deals from Amazon today. Specifically, the Razer BlackWidow that's part of today's Gold Box. I know as much about keyboards as I know about most things, which is to say: nothing. Could I be a bigger dingus?

Edit: never mind. The initial morning rush of caffeine frenzy has passed and everything is fine now.

FoxyPie's Manifesto.
I've thought about this. And no, not that it's my manifesto, but that say a game like Hatred bills itself as like the mass murder simulator and gets all this controversy when it came on Steam, when stuff like GTA has been allowing that and doing a better job of it for a while now. GTA does avoid massive crowds, but I do think that's on purpose, both because it'd probably be hell and relatively pointless to program a full stadium or event into the game, but GTA takes enough heat as is so they don't want to enable the depravity sick puppies like myself gravitate towards.

I do hope they keep improving the police/star system though. It's getting a little more realistic and I get that shaking the pigs is part of the gameplay and challenge, but if I shoot a biker off his bike when he's on the freeway, the police should be going there first and not immediately to the building i'm standing on top of.

As the game gets more realistic I genuinely feel bad with some of the stuff I do. It was so much easier when the pedestrians and murder victims were just blocky, pixelated shapes.

On a related note, does anyone use that iFruit app to train the dog and do other stuff?

If you haven't already, try just chilling out in a random intersection in GTAV and watching what happens. Pretty crazy stuff can go down without you having to do anything.

Something that's always been conflicting for me is that I still can't kill animals in games without feeling terrible, but I have no problem turning humans into mulch.

Edit: except cats. I kill cats with pleasure.

YES! I am the same way. I will go out of my way to drive around a dog and have yet to kill an animal. In fact, I will drive around a dog so I can proceed to mow down a block full of pedestrians. It's not a conflict for me. Animals are innocent creatures. Humans are filthy scum that must be eradicated.

Bruticis3, is that you?

LOL same.

I was doing some mining in No Man's Sky just now and one of those procedurally generated beasts was ramming me and being annoying, normally I just zap them and they run off but I zapped this one too much and I ended up killing it. Felt guilty immediately :D the thing isnt even real and it was the first thing besides pirates that I killed. Goddammit.

I actually think its unrealistic. They are on top of you and rolling out choppers and shit wayyy too quickly. They're supposed to be hard to "beat" so thats not an issue espc when you're at 3+ stars, but the reaction time of them is crazy.

There's actually a mod that fixes it, but Ive yet to mod GTA at all.

I can't think of a single "crime" game where I haven't gone on a rampage: Saints Row, Mafia, Watch Dogs, etc.  That's just part of the game, eh?

You have your two-parter: You need to do the gun shoot-out where no one is immune to your violence and then there's the "Grab the largest vehicle in the game and see how much traffic/roadblocks you can plow through".  Shootin' people is only half the fun if you don't grab a city bus, semi or garbage truck and start driving on some sidewalks.

Hit my boredom point with NMS.  Literally all systems are the same.  If I land on another Mars planet with items that will get me shot at instantly.. I'm just gunna... well turn off the game.

First pearls, now orbs.  There is literally no real difference between planets and now I've been given a mission to jump like 8 times.. no big deal but I don't think I could care less about the 7 systems in between.

There's a big difference though.

In Hatred, the point of the game is to kill innocent people.

In GTA, yes you can go on murderous rampages and everyone does it, but its the choice that sets it apart. Obviously, the protaganist of literally every GTA game is largely a low life murderous scumbag, but I look at that aspect as no different than something like The Sopranos. You don't have to murder innocent people (unless they're innocent in a storyline mission), but you can if you want to.

If it's the new bad rats then I will answer.

1,000 for a 1,000 pound steer. That's 1 quarter pound of burger for every pound of weight.
wrong, if you want pulverized bones in your hamburger, go to McDonald's.

;)

2nd round of Redactem keys for people like me that missed out yesterday. Looks like it could be a halfway decent game.
