does anyone know if PS+ membership retro-authorize past giveaway?  Said, I sub this month as a new member, would I also get last month PS+ game giveaway?

Yea I got both. I actually use the link quite often. The desktop thing Ive seen when streaming the actual windows desktop, but within games, bigscreen, movies, I havent noticed any lag. I use it a media center quite often, just add kodi as a non-steam game and away you go, it even supports flirc so you can buy a flirc module and use your regular remote with it.

The steam controller I rarely use, only sometimes on the link. It does have a learning curve but is quite powerful. It just feels really cheap IMHO, and I much prefer the feel of the xb* controllers
So basically the Steam Link acts as a long HDMI cord of sorts that has native controller/keyboard support built in?

It uses your gpu's built in encoding hardware to re-encode the output, ship it over the network to the steam link, and display. Basically the same thing an nvidia shield does. Though I think the latest nvidia drivers screwed with this, I get wierd ghosting now after updating and I had to set steam to use my cpu's built in gpu as the encoder instead of my actual gpu.

It supports whatever devices the linux kernel supports by default since its just running linux under the hood. So xbox360 stuff works fine out of the box and so does wired xbone. It has a bluetooth chip so you can also pair xboneS and ds3/4 controllers (supposedly I havent tried this). Also most usb keyboards and mice will work

They sell something called virtualhere for the odd cases. virtualhere basically creates a fake usb port on your host pc, and fakes the input coming from the steamlink as if it were coming from that USB port. That gets around alot of wonky scenarios like xbone wireless which didnt used to work, various gaming headsets, some hotas setups. Most people dont really need it though

For the lag stuff, theres some built in networking tests you can run on the link and also display performance overlay if you want to see whats going on. I usually run mine wired though and have no problems with that, usually the people with issues are running wireless. In those cases they gotta tweak some of the performance settings on the link and/or in the steam in-home streaming setup

What did you expect?

Dishonored 2's Void Engine is actually built from Id Tech 5 (i.e. RAGE's Engine). RAGE's Engine still could use some optimizations, if you ask me.
I expected it to run badly, I knew going in it has problems. I was just thinking out loud. After $15 GC I got it for like 13 bucks from BBC and thought it to be worth the investment.

isn't the game built on the same engine as new Doom?

No.

Doom 2016 is on the newer, better & much more optimized version of Id Tech Engine.

Doom 2016 is on Id Tech 6.

Dishonored 2 is on Void Engine, which was based off Id Tech 5.

Id Tech 5 powered RAGE, which was un-optimized as hell on the PC - and still could use some improvements, fixing & optimization, TBH. RAGE was a pretty good game, but its performance absolutely sucked.

I knew we were screwed w/ Dishonored 2 PC, when I found out its Void Engine was on Id Tech 5 (ugh!) and they recommended 6GB GTX 1060 & 8GB RX 480. Seriously, though - "WTH?!?!" @ these VRAM requirements.

Ahh man woke up and rise of the tomb raider deluxe was still 22. So i ended up grabbing it to go along with the Deus ex I grabbed yesterday. It never ends....... I spent about the same on video games as I did on my kid, nieces and nephew.

I woke up after dreaming about Dead by Daylight and realized it wasn't reality. Thank god it's not, if it were I'd be on a hook right now watching Weiler circle around it a million times and him having an hour long stare down with Michael Myers

I know nobody here will probably care much (except for maybe KeeperOfWind since he also plays fighting games), but after 109 hours (and 9 months after release) I've finally 100%'d the achievements for Street Fighter V.  The 1,000,000 Fight Money achievement was probably the most annoying (especially since Capcom is being cheap with the Fight Money challenges).  LOL

Also ended up making it to Super Gold rank, which I'm happy about since I was stuck in Silver and the lower end of Gold for quite some time.  Gotta thank my main man Urien for getting me out of there.  :D

Not trying to sound snarky... but maybe the PlayStation Plus thread would be a better place to ask then the steam deals thread. :)

Console talk... Saw a trailer/commercial for the Last Guardian on youtube last night and for a game I have no confidence in it managed to give me cold chills. Hopefully, its great for all those people waiting for it. :)

Disgaea PC is down to $9.99 at Humble Store and IndieGala, cheapest it's ever been! Alhough I still want it for cheaper. It was patched to resolve it's issues at launch.

Get out.

Its always weiler's fault.
I was playing L4D 1 or 2 I cannot remember. What I do remember is that I reached the objective (a boat in a swamp) and was the only one that was alive and instead of taking off I decided to run back hero-style and revive 2 of my squad mates that I had figured I could safely extract. After reviving them we all took off back towards the boat but during that time one of my teammates was downed again and I got downed trying to revive him while the other team member reached the boat. The last thing over coms was "I ain't no marine" and then the boat left.

That guy was probably weiler.

Got better deals o console games this year. So lame, Steam etc all. Guess I'll fake the Witness...
Maybe you've been buying a lot before the Black Friday Sale began or something?

This has easily been the best Black Friday Week for me ever, in terms of game-buying. I normally pick up a few things - but I absolutely went hog wild and bought tons of games this sale.

It's probably time to get them Black Friday Week hauls going...

Eh, I bought some under-a-buck trash games on Steam and a couple games off-Steam but that's it.  Out of 55+ wishlisted games, two had discounts better than 66%.  Pretty lame stuff but I don't know who expected better.

There are six episodes that play separate from the main campaign that range from 20 minutes to an hour or so.

There are also challenge maps added for both addon characters and batmobile action.

There are the usual skins but whatever.

There are 4 missions added to the main campaign that are not very long as well but allow you to fight villains that are not included in the base game.
Thanks for the info.

Batman Arkham Knight Season Pass = $5 on GamesPlanet UK website.

Looks like the cheapest this has been:

https://isthereanydeal.com/#/page:game/info?plain=batmanarkhamknightseasonpass

Looks like I'm gonna add this to my Black Friday Week haul.

EDIT:

And....bought.

I kinda want Sky force anniversary. It reminds me of classic shmups on the SNES and genesis. Someone can recommend it?
It hasnt been that low in a while but theres a new one coming out so it could again at some point.

As for the game its a really good old school shmup but its really fucking grindy. It takes playthroughs of each level multiple times at multiple difficulties to get enough "stars" to proceed. It looks really nice too. If you're in the market for a shmup immediately. I heartily recommend it. fuck Gabenbux.

You are compromised though lol. I bet that new monitor has a fire going on in your wallet just itching for new things to try on it.

At these prices, even if I was just using the 23'' 1080p monitor on my 970 desktop - I'd still have been all over many of these deals.

I still can reconnect it to this desktop, if need be - since I did connect it nearby, right to my gaming laptop (for when I ain't going mobile w/ the laptop).

At 70-75% off - a lot of the deals + price errors/glitches, IMHO - have been great. Especially on stuff that's very recent.

Same price on steam. Now I want it. It is somewhat like FF tactics?
Disgaea is awesome, one of my favorite series. The first game is pretty good but its also from the PS2 era like 2003. It's like FF tactics on anime steroids.

It's a LOT more complex than FFT.

In addition to the main game, every single item has dungeons that you can go into and level up to boost the item's stats. Even your basic "Bubble gum" health consumable. There's a rarity index from 0-255 which determines how powerful the item can get. There are Specialists on most items that you can beat in the Item World to increase additional parameters, such as the ability to gain levels faster or resist Ice-based attacks, and you can transfer them between items.

Combat is crazy. You can place four compatible characters next to an enemy, and they will perform a huge combo attack to deal massive damage. And if you continue to execute attacks on that enemy, the chain keeps rising, which increases your reward rank for that level. And there are Geo Panels on each and every level with random effects. Say there are green tiles, blue tiles, yellow tiles, and pink tiles on the map, and each one does something different from granting invincibility to -50% DEF. You can either use them all to your advantage, or destroy the Geo Cubes to remove the tiles altogether. And you can throw all four Geo Cubes on a blue tile and then destroy the green cube to chain the whole map and destroy everything and get crazy good rewards.

You also have a Dark Assembly, which is where you call votes to increase game difficulty, transmigrate character stats, create new characters, or give yourself boosts. Oh yeah, you can edit your base stats after transmigration to set your base ATK to 255. Your character also gets stat bonuses based on how many generic characters you make under them, and he/she can learn abilities from those classes. And the level cap is 9999.

It's a number porn strategy RPG with a good story and funny dialogue. The game graphics are basic, but it's got visual novel type cut scenes. And the voice acting is really good. Everyone should play it at least once.

EDIT: You can also throw enemies into each other to level them up, or throw enemies onto your base panel to "capture" them. You get to fight the Power Rangers. There's a robot with 8 million ATK. Plenty of dick jokes. It's great.

My personal favorite game of all time.

Got tired of the 3 disc-version + reinstalling it a lot (on different PC's and using different versions), more or less.

Plus, GoG version's already patched-up w/ Wesp's Basic Patches. That makes life real easy for me, pretty much.

Disgaea redefined the strategy RPG genre.  It is -the- defining strategy RPG series to play.  I did not like Disgaea 5 very much however.   I recommend 3 & 4 the most.  They are 100hour+ games if you really want to get into the item worlds and item leveling.   You'd also never play two of these games back to back.   Once you finish one you don't need to play another one for probably a year or two.  They are samey and derivative, but each release is also quite exceptional.  Each new game in the series also comes with a some gameplay changes, improvements, and new classes.  Disgaea is the epitome of an AZN grindfest, but as a much more managable portion.

Hitman Complete

Battlefield 1

That's it. Bought Civ VI but that'll almost certainly get revoked so it doesn't count. Friend of mine bought me Shadow Warrior 2. Bought a handful of super-cheap trash games not worth mentioning.

Disappointing ending though. Also the studio that made it shut down because people are dumb so no future sequels. Would like see a studio like Bioware use the IP with current-gen tech.

One of the earliest games I purchased on Direct2Drive (remember that store...lol) years ago when I just started buying PC games and found CAG .

Have it wishlisted on Steam and GoG but too cheap to pull the trigger even on a great game because I already own a digital copy (even though its on Direct2Drive) and made it a rule not to buy doubles of a digital item. (except King's Bounty which I own on 4 different digital stores..b/c its also great and its been in so many bundles)

Ew, oh my god no. Maybe if it was classic Bioware, but the studio as they are now? They would fucking ruin it.

The only studios I'd trust to make a worthy Vampire the Masquerade sequel would be either Obsidian or CDProjekt RED. They're the only ones who would do it justice both in terms of character/story/storytelling, and gameplay/features.

Yep, I remember Direct2Drive - from way back to even in its current form. It's actually where I got GTA5 PC for $20 earlier this year (Valentine's Day).

But, yeah - Troika made great stuff, but it was usually so epic in scope and/or not given even time to cook it properly. Arcanum, Bloodlines, and ToEE all suffer from that stuff. Thank God for modders, who save their games by modding the hell out of them and fixing them.

Bloodlines is great. I loved its atmosphere, music, character, story-telling, dialogue - and well....almost everything. Well...except the bugs, issues, and that now combat there fells very clunky compared to any RPG made after Mass Effect 2.

The Haunted House is one of the most memorable levels of all time; and the whole Asylum Sisters quest-line w/ Therese + Jeannette was fantastic.

The conclusion did feel rushed, as if they were trying to wrap the game up b/c the game was getting kicked-out the door. It gets very action-y in the last portion of the game, which is not really the main focus of the rest of the game. So, if you didn't sink enough points into those action-style skills before you get to a certain part of the game....

...Tthe decision-making cab ride....

...then you're going to be screwed.

Also, Heather Poe never truly got truly a proper send-off...

...If you didn't tell her to leave you, either.

But, even despite those few complaints - no game really compares to this one for me.

Went a little batty the last 36 hours, but to be expected I guess.

BF1

Titanfall 2 x2

I traded my extra Titanfall 2 for Watch Dogs 2 (uPlay) Samsung SSD Freebie which is the exact trade I wanted. Thats rare to get a 1:1 game trade in my experience.

Dragon Age GOTY

I was gifted Quantum Break on Steam but havent decided to activate or not. I prob will because my buddy will be pissed at me if I dont.

Bought some cheap DLC on Steam for some Gabenbux. A couple of the Klei DLCs I needed in that bundle thing and the Michael Myers Dead by Daylight DLC.

I placed an order for the Rise of Tomb Raider package on Gamestop (digital) this morning for my cousin who really wants it so I thought Id surprise him with an early Xmas present. Thing has been "Open" for more than 5 hours now lol. Paid with Paypal balance. fuck Gamestop.
